We report on a method by which mass/charge selected ions are picked up from a linear ion trap by liquid helium droplets. The size distributions of the doped droplets are measured via acceleration experiments. Depending on the source temperature, droplet sizes ranging from tens of thousands to several million helium atoms are obtained. Droplets doped with hemin, an iron containing porphyrin molecule, in the charge state +1 are then investigated using laser spectroscopy. It is observed that excitation with UV/VIS light can lead to ejection of the ion from the droplet. For doped droplets with a median size of ~150?000 helium atoms, the absorption of two photons at 380 nm is needed for ejection to become efficient. When droplets become smaller, the ejection efficiency is observed to strongly increase. Monitoring the ejection yield as a function of excitation wavelength can be used to obtain the optical spectrum of hemin(+). Compared to the spectrum of free gas-phase hemin(+) at room temperature, the here obtained spectrum is slightly narrower and shifted to the blue.  相似文献

Silica particles were generated and grown in situ by sol–gel method into rubber blends comprised of natural rubber (NR) and acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) at various blend ratios. Silica formed into rubber matrix was amorphous in nature. Amount of in situ silica increased with increase in natural rubber proportion in the blends during the sol–gel process. Morphology studies showed that the generated in situ silica were nanoparticles of different shapes and sizes mostly grown into the NR phase of the blends. In situ silica filled NR/NBR blend composites showed improvement in the mechanical and dynamic mechanical behaviors in comparison to those of the unfilled and externally filled NR/NBR blend composites. For the NR/NBR blend at 40/60 composition, in particular, the improvement was appreciable where size and dispersion of the silica particles into the rubber matrix were found to be more uniform. Dynamic mechanical analysis revealed a strong rubber–in situ silica interaction as indicated by a positive shift of the glass transition temperature of both the rubber phases in the blends.  相似文献

We report on a series of hydrodynamic chromatography separations conducted in micropillar array columns with an interpillar distance spacing of, respectively, 1.00, 0.70, and 0.47 μm. The columns have been produced using state-of-the-art deep-UV lithography and deep reactive ion etching techniques. Despite the fact that the efficiency was smaller than theoretically possible (due to fabrication limitations and significant injection and detection band broadening), it was nevertheless possible to separate mixtures of fluorescein isothiocyanate (used as the t(0) -marker) and 20- and 40-nm polystyrene beads. With the smallest interpillar distance, a resolution of R(s) = 0.5 between the 20- and 40-nm particles could be obtained in 90s over a column length of 4 cm. The selectivity obtained in the pillar array columns was found to be very similar to that observed in packed-bed columns. By detecting the fluorescent signals in a 90-μm-deep detection groove at the end of the column, the signal-to-noise ratio could be enhanced up to 150 times.  相似文献

The development of a macromolecular conjugate of a multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor is described that can be used for renal‐specific delivery into proximal tubular cells. A novel sunitinib analogue, that is, 17864, is conjugated to a NH2‐PAMAM‐G3 dendrimer via the platinum (II)‐based Universal Linkage System (ULS?). The activity of 17864 is retained after coordination to the ULS linker alone or when coupled to NH2‐PAMAM‐G3. 17864‐UlS‐NH2‐PAMAM‐G3 is non‐toxic to proximal tubular cells in vitro. After intravenous administration to mice, 17864‐UlS‐NH2‐PAMAM‐G3 rapidly and efficiently accumulates in the kidneys. These results are encouraging for future studies focusing on the development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of renal diseases.

Elastomeric composites are prepared based on solution styrene butadiene elastomer and zinc‐aluminium layered double hydroxides (LDH), using a conventional sulphur cure system. Up to 100 parts per hundred rubber of LDH are incorporated into the elastomer matrix. The composites exhibit an interesting phenomenon of thermoreversible transparency, i.e. the transparent sample becomes opaque at warm condition and restores the transparency at room temperature. The transparency is found to be increased as the amount of LDH was increased. The addition of LDH gradually improved the mechanical, dynamic mechanical performance and thermal stability of the base elastomer. These developped elastomers could be utilised as smart materials in different applications.  相似文献

Complexation of Np(IV) with several carboxylates (RCOO(-); R = H, CH(3), or CHR'NH(2); R' = H, CH(3), or CH(2)SH) in moderately acidic aqueous solutions was studied by using UV-vis-NIR and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. As the pH increased, all investigated carboxylates initiated formation of water-soluble hexanuclear complexes, Np(6)(μ-RCOO)(12)(μ(3)-O)(4)(μ(3)-OH)(4), in which the neighboring Np atoms are connected by RCOO(-)syn-syn bridges and the triangular faces of the Np(6) octahedron are capped with μ(3)-O(2-)/μ(3)-OH(-). The structure information of Np(6)(μ-RCOO)(12)(μ(3)-O)(4)(μ(3)-OH)(4) in aqueous solution was extracted from the extended X-ray absorption fine structure data: Np-O(2-) = 2.22-2.23 ? (coordination number N = 1.9-2.2), Np-O(RCOO(-)) and Np-OH(-) = 2.42-2.43 ? (N = 5.6-6.7 in total), Np···C(RCOO(-)) = 3.43 ? (N = 3.3-3.9), Np···Np(neighbor) = 3.80-3.82 ? (N = 3.6-4.0), and Np···Np(terminal) = 5.39-5.41 ? (N = 1.0-1.2). For the simpler carboxylates, the gross stability constants of Np(6)(μ-RCOO)(12)(μ(3)-O)(4)(μ(3)-OH)(4) and related monomers, Np(RCOO)(OH)(2)(+), were determined from the UV-vis-NIR titration data: when R = H, log β(6,12,-12) = 42.7 ± 1.2 and log β(1,1,-2) = 2.51 ± 0.05 at I = 0.62 M and 295 K; when R = CH(3), log β(6,12,-12) = 52.0 ± 0.7 and log β(1,1,-2) = 3.86 ± 0.03 at I = 0.66 M and 295 K.  相似文献

Sets of desirable gambles constitute a quite general type of uncertainty model with an interesting geometrical interpretation. We give a general discussion of such models and their rationality criteria. We study exchangeability assessments for them, and prove counterparts of de Finetti’s Finite and Infinite Representation Theorems. We show that the finite representation in terms of count vectors has a very nice geometrical interpretation, and that the representation in terms of frequency vectors is tied up with multivariate Bernstein (basis) polynomials. We also lay bare the relationships between the representations of updated exchangeable models, and discuss conservative inference (natural extension) under exchangeability and the extension of exchangeable sequences.  相似文献

At the foundations of probability theory lies a question that has been open since de Finetti framed it in 1930: whether or not an uncertainty model should be required to be conglomerable. Conglomerability is related to accepting infinitely many conditional bets. Walley is one of the authors who have argued in favor of conglomerability, while de Finetti rejected the idea. In this paper we study the extension of the conglomerability condition to two types of uncertainty models that are more general than the ones envisaged by de Finetti: sets of desirable gambles and coherent lower previsions. We focus in particular on the weakest (i.e., the least-committal) of those extensions, which we call the conglomerable natural extension. The weakest extension that does not take conglomerability into account is simply called the natural extension. We show that taking the natural extension of assessments after imposing conglomerability—the procedure adopted in Walley’s theory—does not yield, in general, the conglomerable natural extension (but it does so in the case of the marginal extension). Iterating this process of imposing conglomerability and taking the natural extension produces a sequence of models that approach the conglomerable natural extension, although it is not known, at this point, whether this sequence converges to it. We give sufficient conditions for this to happen in some special cases, and study the differences between working with coherent sets of desirable gambles and coherent lower previsions. Our results indicate that it is necessary to rethink the foundations of Walley’s theory of coherent lower previsions for infinite partitions of conditioning events.  相似文献

With the advent of proteomics technologies it is possible to simultaneously demonstrate the expression of hundreds of proteins. The information offered by proteomics provides context-based understanding of cellular protein networks and has been proven to be a valuable approach in neuroscience studies. The mouse hippocampus has been a major target of analysis in the search for molecular correlates to neuronal information storage. Although human and rat hippocampal samples have been successfully subjected to proteomic profiling, no elaborate analysis providing the fundamental experimental basis for protein-expression studies in the mouse hippocampus has been carried out as yet. This led us to construct a master map generated from the individual hippocampal proteomes of five different mouse strains. A proteomic approach, based upon 2-DE coupled to MS (MALDI-TOF/TOF) has been chosen in an attempt to establish a comprehensive reference database of proteins expressed in the mouse hippocampus. 469 individual proteins, represented by 1156 spots displaying various functional states of the respective gene products were identified. Proteomic profiling of the hippocampus, a brain region with a pivotal role for neuronal information processing and storage may provide insight into the characteristics of proteins serving this highly sophisticated function.  相似文献
