The article presents the findings of microscopic and electrochemical studies of electrooxidation of bismuth particle of varying sizes. Bismuth particles were immobilized on the surface of indifferent carbon containing screen-printed electrodes. The calculations and experimental studies demonstrated that the transition from macroparticles to nanoparticles caused a shift of the maximum current potential of bismuth oxidation into the area with more negative potentials. A positive correlation between experimental and calculated data confirms once again a relevant application of the earlier proposed mathematical model and the possible use of the shift of the maximum current potential of electrooxidation to describe electrochemical activity and energy properties of metal nanoparticles. 相似文献

A theoretical model for how Bloch walls occurring in in-plane magnetized ferrite garnet films can serve as efficient magnetic micromanipulators is presented. As an example, the walls' interaction with Abrikosov vortices in a superconductor in close contact with a garnet film is analyzed within the London approximation. The model explains how vortices are attracted to such walls, and excellent quantitative agreement is obtained for the resulting peaked flux profile determined experimentally in NbSe(2) using high-resolution magneto-optical imaging of vortices. In particular, this model, when generalized to include charged magnetic walls, explains the counterintuitive attraction observed between vortices and a Bloch wall of opposite polarity. 相似文献

Anisotropic penetration of magnetic flux in MgB(2) films grown on vicinal sapphire substrates is investigated using magneto-optical imaging. Regular penetration above 10 K proceeds more easily along the substrate surface steps, the anisotropy of the critical current being 6%. At lower temperatures the penetration occurs via abrupt dendritic avalanches that preferentially propagate perpendicular to the surface steps. This inverse anisotropy in the penetration pattern becomes dramatic very close to 10 K where all flux avalanches propagate in the strongest pinning direction. The observed behavior is fully explained using a thermomagnetic model of the dendritic instability. 相似文献

We have analyzed the temperature and magnetic-field dependences of resistivity ρ(T, H) of semiconducting compound Pb0.45Sn0.55Te doped with 5 at % In under a hydrostatic compression at P < 12 kbar. It is found that the temperature dependence ρ(T) at all pressures at T < 100 K is exponential with the activation energy decreasing upon an increase in pressure; this is accompanied with a superconducting transition on the ρ(T) and ρ(H) dependences at P > 4.8 kbar at T > 1 K (T c = 1.72 K at a level of 0.5ρ N at P = 6.8 kbar). We consider the model describing the low-temperature “dielectrization” of the semiconducting solid solution and the formation of the superconducting state upon an increase in the hydrostatic compression P > 4 kbar. 相似文献

We consider several fundamental optical phenomena involving single molecules in biased metal-molecule-metal junctions. The molecule is represented by its highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals, and the analysis involves the simultaneous consideration of three coupled fluxes: the electronic current through the molecule, energy flow between the molecule and electron-hole excitations in the leads, and the incident and/or emitted photon flux. Using a unified theoretical approach based on the nonequilibrium Green's function method we derive expressions for the absorption line shape (not an observable but a useful reference for considering yields of other optical processes) and for the current induced molecular emission in such junctions. We also consider conditions under which resonance radiation can induce electronic current in an unbiased junction. We find that current driven molecular emission and resonant light induced electronic currents in single molecule junctions can be of observable magnitude under appropriate realizable conditions. In particular, light induced current should be observed in junctions involving molecular bridges that are characterized by strong charge-transfer optical transitions. For observing current induced molecular emission we find that in addition to the familiar need to control the damping of molecular excitations into the metal substrate the phenomenon is also sensitive to the way in which the potential bias is distributed on the junction. 相似文献
