This paper describes a new method for the rapid extraction and unequivocal confirmation of herbicides chlormequat and mepiquat in wheat flours and various flours utilized in infant foods. The highly automated extraction procedure is based on accelerated solvent extraction, followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry as a confirmatory analysis. Typical recoveries from flours and baby food samples ranged from 83 to 99% at a fortification level of 10 ppb, corresponding to the maximum residue limits established by the European Union; while relative standard deviations (RSD) were less than 10% for all samples. The limit of detection (signal-to-noise ratio = 3) of the method for the considered phenols in baby food samples are less than 0.1 μg g?1. Traces of the selected herbicides have been detected in about 50% of baby foods, bought from different Roman supermarkets and butcher shops, applying the described methodology.  相似文献

We study closed topological 2n-dimensional manifolds M with poly-surface fundamental groups. We prove that if M is simple homotopy equivalent to the total space E of a Y-bundle over a closed aspherical surface, where Y is a closed aspherical n-manifold, then M is s-cobordant to E. This extends a well-known 4-dimensional result of Hillman in [14] to higher dimensions. Our proof is different from that of the quoted paper: we use Mayer-Vietoris techniques and the properties of the -theory assembly maps for such bundles.  相似文献

Chiral non-racemic 1,4-dihydropyridazines were prepared by the reaction of 1,2-diaza-1,3-dienes with arylacetaldehydes under organocatalytic conditions. l-Proline and (S)-(+)-1-(2-pyrrolidinylmethyl)pyrrolidine coupled with trifluoroacetic acid were used as organocatalysts. In the context of the entire analytical process, pre-treatment of soil samples is often inadequately considered although the reliability of the results is definitely compromised if the sample is not properly prepared. In this paper, the effect of drying conditions in soil sample pre-treatment on the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) has been studied. A systematic approach has been adopted by varying soil type, drying temperatures and solvent polarity to highlight the effect on the analyte recovery; the relationship between PAH molecular structure and their evaporation process from soils is discussed. Experimental data demonstrate that, concerning temperature-assisted drying procedures, PAHs are divided in two distinct groups: PAHs lighter than pyrene, which are seriously affected by drying temperature; and heavier PAHs that can be considered as non-volatile compounds. For studies involving the analysis of lighter PAHs in environmental samples, working on as-received samples is necessary.  相似文献

The feasibility of using reversed-phase liquid chromatography/diode array/tandem mass spectrometry (LC-DAD-MS/MS) for a rapid and comprehensive profiling of fat soluble vitamins and pigments in some foods of plant origin (maize flour, green and golden kiwi) was evaluated. The instrumental approach was planned for obtaining two main outcomes within the same chromatographic run: (i) the quantitative analysis of ten target analytes, whose standards are commercially available; (ii) the screening of pigments occurring in the selected matrices. The quantitative analysis was performed simultaneously for four carotenoids (lutein, zeaxanthin, β-cryptoxanthin, and β-carotene) and six compounds with fat-soluble activity (α-tocopherol, δ-tocopherol, γ-tocopherol, ergocalciferol, phylloquinone and menaquinone-4), separated on a C30 reversed-phase column and detected by atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) tandem mass spectrometry, operating in Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM) mode. Extraction procedure was based on matrix solid-phase dispersion with recoveries of all compounds under study exceeding 78 and 60% from maize flour and kiwi, respectively. The method intra-day precision ranged between 3 and 7%, while the inter-day one was below 12%. The mild isolation conditions precluded artefacts creation, such as cis-isomerization phenomena for carotenoids. During the quantitative LC-SRM determination of the ten target analytes, the identification power of the diode array detector joined to that of the triple quadrupole (QqQ) allowed the tentatively identification of several pigments (chlorophylls and carotenoids), without the aid of standards, on the basis of: (i) the UV-vis spectra recorded in the range of 200-700nm; (ii) the expected retention time; (iii) the two SRM transitions, chosen for the target carotenoids but also common to many of isomeric carotenoids occurring in the selected foods.  相似文献

We construct infinite families of closed connected orientable 3-manifolds obtained from certain triangulated 3-cells by pairwise identifications of their boundary faces. Our combinatorial constructions extend and complete a particular polyhedral scheme which Kim and Kostrikin used in [10] and [11] to define a series of spaces denoted M 3(n). Then we determine geometric presentations of the fundamental groups, and prove that many of the constructed manifolds are n-fold (non-strongly) cyclic coverings of the 3-sphere branched over some specified pretzel links.  相似文献

During the years they spend in university, many mathematics students develop a very poor conception of mathematics and its teaching. This fact is bad in all cases, but even more in the case of those students who will be mathematics teachers in school. In this paper it is argued that the history of mathematics may be an efficient element to provide students with flexibility, open-mindedness and motivation towards mathematics. The theoretical background of this work relies both on recent research in mathematics education and on papers written by mathematicians of the past. Opinions are supported with examples. One example concerns a historical presentation of ‘definition’; it was developed with mathematics students who will become mathematics teachers. For students oriented to research or to applied mathematics, an example is presented to address the problem of the secondary-tertiary transition.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles are excellent intracellular markers in X‐ray imaging. Having shown previously the suitability of gold nanoparticles to detect small groups of cells with the synchrotron‐based computed tomography (CT) technique both ex vivo and in vivo, it is now demonstrated that even single‐cell resolution can be obtained in the brain at least ex vivo. Working in a small animal model of malignant brain tumour, the image quality obtained with different imaging modalities was compared. To generate the brain tumour, 1 × 105 C6 glioma cells were loaded with gold nanoparticles and implanted in the right cerebral hemisphere of an adult rat. Raw data were acquired with absorption X‐ray CT followed by a local tomography technique based on synchrotron X‐ray absorption yielding single‐cell resolution. The reconstructed synchrotron X‐ray images were compared with images obtained by small animal magnetic resonance imaging. The presence of gold nanoparticles in the tumour tissue was verified in histological sections.  相似文献

This article deals with the activity of example generation as a special case of problem solving. We asked university students in the scientific-technological area to produce examples (which may exist or not) of mathematical objects fulfilling given requirements. For the analysis of students’ performances, we have developed a model that attempts to grasp the nature of the different stages in the solving process. The discussion of the findings allows us to outline specificities and educational potentialities of example generation activities.  相似文献
