Thermotropic phase transitions in model membranes of the outer skin layer based on ceramide 6

The lipid intercellular matrix stratum corneum of the outer skin layer is a multilayer membrane consisting of a complex mixture of different lipids: ceramides, fatty acids, cholesterol, and its derivatives. The basis of the multilayer membrane is the lipid bilayer, i.e., a two-dimensional liquid crystal. Currently, it is known that the main way of substance penetration through the skin is the lipid matrix. The complexity of the actual biological system does not allow reliable direct study of its properties; therefore, system modeling is often used. Phase transitions in the lipid system whose composition simulates the native lipid matrix are studied by the X-ray synchrotron radiation diffraction method.     

Evolution of proton shells in 20 ⩽ Z ⩽ 28 and 20 ⩽ N ⩽ 50 nuclei and dispersive optical model

Experimental single-particle proton energies in spherical and nearly spherical 20 ? Z ? 28 medium-mass nuclei and their counterparts evaluated with the aid of data formirror nuclei were analyzed on the basis of the dispersive optical model. The parameters of the dispersive optical potential were extrapolated to the region of unstable nuclei, and the values obtained in this way were then used to predict the single-particle proton energies in the 20 ? N ? 50 nuclei under study. The evolution of the particle-hole energy gap was traced, and features peculiar to single-particle spectra of magic and nonmagic nuclei were revealed by comparing single-particle energies with proton-separation energies.

A study of sorption of samarium(III) ions by natural clinoptilolite-containing tuff

Equilibrium and kinetics of absorption of samarium(III) ions from sulfate solutions by a natural clinoptilolite-containing tuff were studied. The kinetic parameters of the sorption process were determined.     

Optimization of the synthesis of 2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazole

The synthesis of 2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazole by the cyclization of glyoxal phenylosazone in high-boiling solvents in the presence of copper triflate catalyst has been optimized. The structure of the product was confirmed by data of IR, ¹H, ¹³C, and ¹⁵N NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis.
