A procedure is tested for directly calculating exciation energies for spin-conserving and spin-forbidden transitions using a spin-adapted coupled-cluster based linear response theory. The excited states are generated from the ground state through an excitation operator S, a combination of various nh—np excitations of spin-rank zero and one for singlet and triplet excitations.  相似文献

Electron affinity of plasma embedded muonium (μ+e?) and pionium (π+e?) has been estimated using a general three‐body formalism within variational framework. Electron correlation is taken care of using extended Hylleraas basis sets. The stability of the three‐body systems have been studied under the Debye screening model of the plasma, which changes the Coulombic potential to the screened Coulomb one. The electron affinity of the muonium and pionium is maximum for free systems, and it decreases gradually toward zero with increase of the plasma strength, which tends to push the three‐body system toward gradual instability. A novel 16-member metallamacrocyclic octanuclear copper(II) complex of formulation [Cu8L4(OH)4] (1) has been prepared from a reaction of [Cu2L(O2CMe)] and NaOH in methanol, where L is a pentadentate trianionic Schiff base ligand N,N'-(2-hydroxypropane-1,3-diyl)bis(salicylaldimine). The complex has been characterized by analytical, structural, and spectral methods. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with the following unit cell dimensions: a = 30.365(3) A; b = 14.320(2) A; c = 19.019(2) A; beta = 125.33(2) degrees; V = 6746.7(13) A3; Z = 4. A total of 4589 unique data with l > 2 sigma (l) were used to refine the structure to R1(F0) = 0.0525 and wR2 = 0.1156. The structure consists of four binuclear [Cu2L]+ units linked covalently by four hydroxide ligands to form an octanuclear core which is stabilized by strong hydrogen-bonding interactions involving the hydroxide ligands. Each binuclear unit has a pentadentate ligand L showing N2O3 coordination with an endogenous alkoxide bridging atom. The magnetic susceptibility data of 1, obtained in the temperature range 14-306 K, show the presence of antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between adjacent spin-1/2 Cu(II) ions. The mu eff values are 1.54 and 0.26 microB (per copper) at 295 and 15 K, respectively. The magnetic data have been theoretically fitted using a Heisenberg spin-1/2 Hamiltonian with nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic interactions. The spin coupling in the metallamacrocyclic ring has been modeled using four different coupling constants (J) on the basis of the structural parameters of the octanuclear core. The coupling constants obtained are J1 = -318.8, J2 = -293.3, J3 = -111.6, and J4 = -63.8 cm-1. The theoretical modeling of the susceptibility data gives a higher magnitude of the antiferromagnetic interaction within the binuclear [Cu2L]+ unit compared to those involving adjacent dimeric units.  相似文献

Earlier work by Lindenbaum and Boyd has demonstrated the important role of hydrophobic interactions involving the water solvent in determining the osmotic coefficients and properties of aqueous solutions of the tetraalkylammonium halides. Osmotic coefficients of solutions of tetramethyl-, tetraethyl-, tetrapropyl-, and tetrabutylammonium bromides in the more highly structured solvent D2O have now been determined by the gravimetric isopiestic method, using reference solutions of NaCl in D2O. The data were fitted to the Rush-Johnson and Pitzer equations. Satisfactory agreement with the results for aqueous solutions at comparable concentrations indicates that the solution chemistry of these quaternary ammonium bromides is not highly dependent on the degree of structure of the pure solvents. Supplementary data for mixtures of Me4NBr with Et4NBr, Pr4NBr, or Bu4NBr in both H2O and D2O are consistent with this conclusion.On leave 1980–82 from Banaras Hindu University, India  相似文献

A convenient odorless methodology has been devised for the preparation of 1,2-trans-thio- and selenoglycosides through zinc-mediated cleavage of disulfides and diselenides and reaction of the thiolate and selenides formed in situ with glycosyl bromides. This paper presents a system-oriented model for analyzing the dispersion of electrophoretic transport of charged analyte molecules in a general-shaped microchannel, which is represented as a system of serially connected elemental channels of simple geometry. Parameterized analytical models that hold for analyte bands of virtually arbitrary initial shape are derived to describe analyte dispersion, including both the skew and broadening of the band, in elemental channels. These models are then integrated to describe dispersion in the general-shaped channel using appropriate parameters to represent interfaces of adjacent elements. This lumped-parameter system model offers orders-of-magnitude improvement in computational efficiency over full numerical simulations, and is verified by results from experiments and numerical simulations. The model is used to perform a systematic parametric study of serpentine channels consisting of a pair of complementary turn microchannels, and the results indicate that dispersion in a particular turn can contribute to either an increase or decrease of the overall band broadening. The efficiency and accuracy of the system model is further demonstrated by its application to general-shaped channels that occur in practice, including a serpentine channel with multiple complementary turns and a multi-turn spiral-shaped channel. The results indicate that our model is an accurate and efficient simulation tool useful for designing optimal electrophoretic separation microchips.  相似文献

Summary A series of unfractionated and fractionated samples of polymethyl acrylate of different low molecular weights have been prepared by homogeneous solution. polymerization in dimethyl formamide in presence of , '-azo-(-cyano-n-valeric acid) as initiator under a variety of conditions. The number-average molecular weights have been determined by end-group titrations and vapour pressure osmometry. The following []-M relationships for polymethyl acrylate have been obtained.[] = 33.5 x 10–5M0.63 for unfractionated samples in benzene at 25 °C. New MnII/CuII/ZnII complexes [(L1)MnCl2] (1), [(L2)CuCl2]·0.5H2O (2) and [(L2)ZnCl(H2O)][ClO4] (3), containing (2-pyridyl)alkylamine ligands, N-methyl-N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (L1) and methyl[2-(2-pyridyl)ethyl](2-pyridylmethyl)amine (L2), have been prepared and characterized, including X-ray crystallography. The most striking feature of the structures of these complexes is the formation of molecular ladder and lamellar topology through the crystal packing arrangement, determined by both strong O–H···Cl and weak (however, multiple) C–H···Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions, to maintain the neutral/cationic metal-ligand coordination units linked to each other. In 3, additional secondary interactions are observed involving coordinated solvent and the counter-ion. The results presented here demonstrate that (i) the choice of organic ligands to provide flexibility and inherent potential to participate in hydrogen-bonding interactions, (ii) the coordination geometry preferences of metal ions, (iii) the number of metal-bound chloride ion and (iv) the presence of solvent/counter-anion have a great influence on supramolecular network topology.  相似文献

Two novel inorganic-organic hybrid 3D extended networks of Ni(II) and Mn(II) having molecular formulas [(maleate)(2)Ni(3)(bpe)(4)(H(2)O)(4)](NO(3))(2).H(2)O (1) and [(adipate)Mn(bpe)] (2) (bpe = 1, 2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane), respectively, have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies and low-temperature (300-2 K) magnetic measurements. Compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/c (No. 15), with chemical formula C(56)H(62)N(10)Ni(3)O(19), a = 30.955(4) A, b = 12.705(3) A, c = 17.058(5) A, beta = 117.26(2) degrees, and Z = 4. Compound 2 crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group Ponemacr; (No. 2), with chemical formula C(18)H(20)MnN(2)O(4), a = 8.492(2) A, b = 9.444(2) A, c = 11.533(3) A, alpha = 97.19(1) degrees, beta = 94.64(1) degrees, gamma = 105.02(1) degrees, and Z = 2. The structure determination reveals for both a 3D network. Compound 1 contains two crystallographically independent Ni(II) ions in different octahedral environments. Ni(1) lies on an inversion center, and its coordination environment comprises two chelating maleate anions and two bpe nitrogen donors, while the Ni(2) ion is surrounded by meridionally disposed three bpe N atoms, two water molecules, and one oxygen donor from the dicarboxylate anion. Of the three crystallographic independent bpe ligand, one presents an anti and the others a gauche conformation. The corresponding N-to-N distances are 9.344, 6.543, and 6.187 A. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement of the complex reveals the existence of a dominant ferromagnetic interaction within the molecule. Compound 2 is composed of Mn(2) dimer units linked by adipate anions to form corrugated 2D sheets which, on interconnection through bpe (anti conformation, N-to-N distance of 9.391 A), produces an interpenetrated 3D alpha-polonium-related type net. Complex 2 reveals to be antiferromagnetic fitting data using a dimeric Mn(II) model that considers negligible magnetic transmission through the carbon skeleton of adipate and the bpe pathway.  相似文献
