[2.2]Paracyclophane-based through-space conjugated oligomers and polymers were prepared, in which poly(p-arylene-ethynylene) (PAE) units were partially π-stacked and layered, and their properties in the ground state and excited state were investigated in detail. Electronic interactions among PAE units were effective through at least ten units in the ground state. Photoexcited energy transfer occurred from the stacked PAE units to the end-capping PAE moieties. The electrical conductivity of the polymers was estimated using the flash-photolysis time-resolved microwave conductivity (FP-TRMC) method and investigated together with time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations, showing that intramolecular charge carrier mobility through the stacked PAE units was a few tens of percentage larger than through the twisted PAE units.  相似文献

Second harmonic generation (SHG) was observed from halide, in specific, chlorine or bromine-containing tellurite glasses. The magnitude of SHG increased with increasing halides concentration and poling time. Although the mechanism of SHG is still controversial, it is generally accepted that the idea of the deficiency of cations near the anode side cause SHG. However, in the preset oxyhalide glass system without any singly positive charge cation, the polishing of the anode side showed no effect on SHG. On the other hand, the polishing of the cathode side significantly decreased the magnitude of SHG in the present alkali-free oxyhalide glasses. Therefore, the SHG mechanism in the present oxyhalide glass systems is made evident in which the movement of anions results in an anion-deficient layer near the cathode side.  相似文献

We sketch discussions based on our previous publications on the origin of hadron resonances (Hyodo et al. Phys. Rev. C 78:025203, 2008) on exotic ${\bar D (B)}$ meson–nucleons as candidates of hadronic composites (Yamaguchi et al. Phys. Rev. Objective

The pathological changes in Parkinson disease begin in the brainstem; reach the limbic system and ultimately spread to the cerebral cortex. In Parkinson disease (PD) patients, we evaluated the alteration of cingulate fibers, which comprise part of the limbic system, by using diffusional kurtosis imaging (DKI).

Methods

Seventeen patients with PD and 15 age-matched healthy controls underwent DKI with a 3-T MR imager. Diffusion tensor tractography images of the anterior and posterior cingulum were generated. The mean kurtosis (MK) and conventional diffusion tensor parameters measured along the images in the anterior and posterior cingulum were compared between the groups. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was also performed to compare the diagnostic abilities of the MK and conventional diffusion tensor parameters.

Results

The MK and fractional anisotropy (FA) in the anterior cingulum were significantly lower in PD patients than in healthy controls. The area under the ROC curve was 0.912 for MK and 0.747 for FA in the anterior cingulum. MK in the anterior cingulum had the best diagnostic performance (mean cutoff, 0.967; sensitivity, 0.87; specificity, 0.94).

Conclusions

DKI can detect alterations of the anterior cingulum in PD patients more sensitively than can conventional diffusion tensor imaging. Use of DKI can be expected to improve the ability to diagnose PD.  相似文献

Chicken breast is not preferred in Japan because it is not juicy. In this study, the effect of combined high pressure and sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3) treatment on the texture and palatability of chicken breast was investigated. The sample used was broiler chicken breast. Meat samples were soaked in.0–.4 M NaHCO3 solution and then pressurized at 100–400 MPa. After pressurization, the samples were heated for 30 min at 80°C and cooled down in ice-cold water. High pressure and NaHCO3 treatment of broiler chicken breast resulted in increased water content, and decreased weight reduction and rupture stress. Moreover, meat exposed to 200 MPa pressurization and.3 M NaHCO3 treatment was judged tender, juicy and of good taste by sensory evaluation. The combination of high pressure and NaHCO3 treatment can be effectively used for broiler chicken breast production.  相似文献

Epitaxial thin films of titanium perovskite oxyhydride ATiO(3-x)H(x) (A = Ba, Sr, Ca) were prepared by CaH(2) reduction of epitaxial ATiO(3) thin films deposited on a (LaAlO(3))(0.3)(SrAl(0.5)Ta(0.5)O(3))(0.7) substrate. Secondary ion mass spectroscopy detected a substantial amount and uniform distribution of hydride within the film. SrTiO(3)/LSAT thin film hydridized at 530 °C for 1 day had hydride concentration of 4.0 × 10(21) atoms/cm(3) (i.e., SrTiO(2.75)H(0.25)). The electric resistivity of all the ATiO(3-x)H(x) films exhibited metallic (positive) temperature dependence, as opposed to negative as in BaTiO(3-x)H(x) powder, revealing that ATiO(3-x)H(x) are intrinsically metallic, with high conductivity of 10(2)-10(4) S/cm. Treatment with D(2) gas results in hydride/deuteride exchange of the films; these films should be valuable in further studies on hydride diffusion kinetics. Combined with the materials' inherent high electronic conductivity, new mixed electron/hydride ion conductors may also be possible.  相似文献

Two series of wedge-shaped onium salts, one ammonium and the other phosphonium, having 3,4,5-tris(alkyloxy)benzyl moieties, exhibit thermotropic bicontinuous "gyroid" cubic (Cub(bi)) and hexagonal columnar liquid-crystalline (LC) phases by nanosegregation between ionophilic and ionophobic parts. The alkyl chain lengths on the cationic moieties, anion species, and alkyl chain lengths on the benzyl moieties have crucial effects on their thermotropic phase behavior. For example, triethyl-[3,4,5-tris(dodecyloxy)benzyl]ammonium hexafluorophosphate forms the thermotropic Ia3d Cub(bi) LC phase, whereas an analogous compound with trifluoromethanesulfonate anion shows no LC properties. Synchrotron small-angle diffraction intensities from the Ia3d Cub(bi) LC materials provide electron density maps in the bulk state. The resulting maps show convincingly that the Ia3d Cub(bi) structure is composed of three-dimensionally interconnected ion nanochannel networks surrounded by aliphatic domains. A novel differential mapping technique has been applied successfully. The map of triethyl-[3,4,5-tris(decyloxy)benzyl]ammonium tetrafluoroborate has been subtracted from that of the analogous ammonium salt with hexafluorophosphate anion in the Ia3d Cub(bi) phases. The differential map shows that the counteranions are located in the core of the three-dimensionally interconnected nanochannel networks. Changing from trimethyl- via triethyl- to tripropylammonium cation changes the phase from columnar to Cub(bi) to no mesophase, respectively. This sensitivity to the widened shape for the narrow end of the molecule is explained successfully by the previously proposed semiquantitative geometric model based on the radial distribution of volume in wedge-shaped molecules. The LC onium salts dissolve lithium tetrafluoroborate without losing the Ia3d Cub(bi) LC phase. The Cub(bi) LC materials exhibit efficient ion-transporting behavior as a result of their 3D interconnected ion nanochannel networks. The Ia3d Cub(bi) LC material formed by triethyl-[3,4,5-tris(decyloxy)benzyl]phosphonium tetrafluoroborate shows ionic conductivities higher than the analogous Ia3d Cub(bi) material based on ammonium salts. The present study indicates great potential of Cub(bi) LC nanostructures consisting of ionic molecules for development of transportation nanochannel materials.  相似文献

We have demonstrated that light is confined in a single mode near a very small defect (such as an impurity atom) embedded in photonic crystals by coherent control using a dark line that is a spectrum singularity leading to the complete quenching of emission. In this demonstration, we have clarified the strong confinement and a very short response time, as compared with the widely used tunable PBG method. These features are useful for keeping the memory in a two-state quantum system such as a quantum bit (qubit) and for processing quantum information.
