A detailed investigation of the oxidation of L-ascorbic acid (H2A) by the title complex has been carried out using conventional spectrophotometry at 510 nm, over the ranges: 0.010 [ascorbate] T 0.045 mol dm–3, 3.62 pH 5.34, and 12.0 30.0 °C, 0.50 I 1.00 mol dm–3, and at ionic strength 0.60 mol dm–3 (NaClO4). The main reaction products are the bis(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate)cobaltate(II) ion and l-dehydroascorbic acid. The reaction rate is dependent on pH and the total ascorbate concentration in a complex manner, i.e., k obs = (k 1 K 1)[ascorbate] T /(K 1 + [H+]). The second order rate constant, k 1 [rate constant for the reaction of the cobalt(III) complex and HA] at 25.0 °C is 2.31 ± 0.13 mol–1 dm3 s–1. H = 30 ± 4 kJ mol–1 and S = –138 ± 13 J mol–1 K–1. K 1, the dissociation constant for H2A, was determined as 1.58 × 10–4 mol dm–3 at an ionic strength of 0.60 mol dm–3, while the self exchange rate constant, k 11 for the title complex, was determined as 1.28 × 10–5 dm3 mol–1 s–1. An outer-sphere electron transfer mechanism has been proposed.  相似文献

The influence of molecular symmetry on reaction rates is examined with an approach in which reactions are viewed as electronic transitions between states of reacants and products (described, in turn by quasiadiabatic potential surface). The moleculer Hamiltonian is used to derive selection rules for these transitions. The complete Hamilatonian has no useful symmetery. Neglect of non-Born-Oppenheimer and spin-orbit terms (and of other angular momentum coupling terms) leads to an apporixmate Hamiltonian and to selection rules which from the basis of the Woodward-Hoffmann rules. This apporch provides an alternative to the adiabatic potantial surfaces, reaction coordinates, and transition state theory used in more familiar discussions of the Woodward-Hoffmann rules. Further, it provides a particulary clear method for discussing violations of these symmetry rules, and for differentiating concerted and nonconcerted reactions.  相似文献

The surface valence-band densities of states (DOS) of Pt(3)M (M=Ti,V,Cr,Fe,Co,Ni) polycrystalline alloys were investigated with ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy. Upon annealing the ion-sputter-cleaned alloys at high temperatures, the observed valence-band DOS spectra clearly show the modified electronic structures on the surfaces suggesting the surface segregation of Pt as predicted in thermodynamic models. The measured d-band centers and widths for the annealed alloy surfaces show qualitatively the same trend as predicted by density-functional-theory calculations based on the model of a Pt "skin" on the topmost surface layer and a subsurface layer enriched in the 3d transition metal.  相似文献

A micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography method was developed that permitted the resolution of antipyrine from endogenous compounds and its quantitation in neat saliva in as little as 1 min. Final conditions were: SpectraPhoresis 1000, 30(23) cm × 50 μm silica capillary, 50 mM sodium phosphate pH 9.6, 50 mM SDS, 10 s hydrodynamic load, detection scanning 200–300 nm or 260 nm, run 25 kV. To overcome the effects of Joule heating the capillary was cooled to 15°C. Sensitivity was <10 μM and linearity extended to 350 μM. Comparison with an HPLC assay demonstrated that hydrodynamic injection gave a loading bias unless samples and standards were of equal viscosity. For 75 samples from five subjects the correlation of CE vs. HPLC was then r = 0.99.  相似文献

Important parameters to consider when developing a liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) method are buffer type and concentration, and column geometry. In the work presented here the choice of buffer for the analysis of basic compounds using a polar embedded phase (HyPURITYtrade mark ADVANCE) is illustrated for the analysis of tricyclic antidepressants. Method transfer from a 4.6 mm i.d. column to a 2.1 mm i.d. column is demonstrated for the analysis of triazines and anabolic steroids and their metabolites, with no change in selectivity and with added speed of analysis. Analysis of eight beta-blockers is achieved in 65 seconds by using a short 30 x 4.6 mm C18 column.  相似文献

Four new zinc phosphates [Zn(HPO4)(C6H9N3O2)] (1), [Zn(HPO4)(C4H6N2)].H2O (2), [Zn2(HPO4)2(C14H14N4)].2H2O (3), and [Zn(HPO4)(C14H14N4)] (4) were synthesized in the presence of d-histidine, 1-methylimidazole, 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene (L1), and 1,2-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene (L2), respectively, and their structures were determined by X-ray crystallography. The inorganic framework of compounds 1, 2, and 3 is composed of vertex-shared ZnO3N and HPO4 tetrahedra that form four rings, which, in turn, are linked to generate a one-dimensional ladder structure. In 1 and 2 the organic groups (monoimidazole ligand) are located at each side of the ladders, while in 3 the bisimidazole ligand, 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, links the ladders together to form a novel 2D structure. Compound 1 is the first zinc phosphate framework to be templated by an N-bonded chiral amino acid. In 4 the zero-dimensional four rings are joined together by the linear bridging ligand, 1,2-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, to generate a one-dimensional framework with a new face-to-face structural motif. The 3D structure of compound 4 is stabilized by hydrogen-bonding, pi-pi interactions, and C-H...pi interactions. The approach of incorporating multifunctional ligands into zinc phosphate frameworks and linking the inorganic zinc phosphates subunits by an organic ligand provides opportunities for the design of new inorganic-organic open frameworks.  相似文献

The structure of bis(dimethylammonium) pentachloroantimonate(III), [(CH3)2NH2]2[SbCl5], BDP, was studied at 15 K and ambient pressure by single-crystal X-ray diffraction as well as at ambient temperature and high pressures up to 4.87(5) GPa by Raman spectroscopy. BDP crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group with a=8.4069(4), b=11.7973(7), c=14.8496(7) Å, and Z=4; R1=0.0381, wR2=0.0764. The structure consists of distorted [SbCl6]3− octahedra forming zig-zag [{SbCl5}n]2n chains that are cross-linked by dimethylammonium [(CH3)2NH2]+ cations. The organic and inorganic substructures are bound together by the N-H…Cl hydrogen bonds. The distortions of [SbCl6]3− units increase, partly due to the influence of the hydrogen bonds which became stronger, with decreasing temperature. The preliminary room temperature, high-pressure X-ray diffraction experiments suggest that BDP undergoes a first-order phase transition below ca. 0.44(5) GPa that destroys single-crystal samples. The transition is accompanied by changes in the intensities and positions of the Raman lines below 400 cm−1.  相似文献

On Polygermanes. II. Modifications of Dodecaphenylcyclohexagermane Dodecaphenylcyclohexagermane (1) can be obtained from solutions pure (1a) , with 2 und 7 moles of crystal benzene (1b, 1c) and with 2 moles of crystal toluene (1d). Mass spectrum, 13C-nmr spectrum, assigned vibrational spectra (vs, Ge? Ge? Ge = 220–235 cm?1, vas, Ge? Ge? Ge = 245–260 cm?1) and crystal data are given. The crystal structure of 1c has been determined and refined to a R of 0.059. 1 forms a flattened Ge6-chair (Ge-Ge distance 245.7(1) pm) with 6 axial and equatorial substituents respectively. The molecules of 1 approach spheres with a packing midway between a simple cubic and a cubic closest-packed arrangement.  相似文献

We show that the kinetic model of a single rate-determining step in a reaction mechanism can be extended to systems with multiple overall reactions for which the elementary reactions obey nonideal or fractal kinetics. The following assumptions are necessary: (1) The system studied is either closed or open, but no constraints exist preventing the evolution toward equilibrium. (2) Elementary reactions occur in pairs of forward and backward steps. (3) The kinetics of the elementary steps are either nonideal or fractal and are compatible with equilibrium thermodynamics. (4) The number of reaction routes is identical with the number of rate-determining steps. If these hypotheses are valid, then the overall reaction rates can be explicitly evaluated: they have a form similar to the kinetic equations for the elementary reactions and the apparent reaction orders and fractal coefficients can be expressed analytically in terms of the kinetic parameters of the elementary reactions. We derive a set of relationships which connect the equilibrium constants of the reaction routes, the corresponding overall rate coefficients, and the stoichiometric numbers of the rate-determining steps. We also derive a set of generalized Boreskov relations among the apparent activation energies of the forward and backward overall processes, the corresponding reaction enthalpies, and the stoichiometric coefficients of the rate-determining steps. If the elementary reactions obey fractal kinetics, the same is true for the rate-determining steps. The fractal exponents of the forward and backward overall reactions are linear combinations of the fractal exponents of the fractal elementary reactions. Similar to the theory of single rate-determining steps, our approach can be used for selecting suitable reaction mechanisms from experimental data.  相似文献
