Bremsstrahlung emission, or radiation loss, is the dominant mechanism of energy dissipation of electrons at relativistic energies
greater than a few MeV when it is subjected to acceleration in the field of the nucleus or of the electrons. In this study,
the Monte Carlo calculations for bremsstrahlung spectra have been described for the case of a thick tungsten target with incident

In the crystal, the alkali metal interacts with the carbene carbon atom or with the CH2 group of the trimethylsilymethyl ligand. This paper presents the development of an acoustic energy harvester using an electromechanical Helmholtz resonator (EMHR). The EMHR consists of an orifice, cavity, and a piezoelectric diaphragm. Acoustic energy is converted to mechanical energy when sound incident on the orifice generates an oscillatory pressure in the cavity, which in turns causes the vibration of the diaphragm. The conversion of acoustic energy to electrical energy is achieved via piezoelectric transduction in the diaphragm of the EMHR. Moreover, the diaphragm is coupled with energy reclamation circuitry to increase the efficiency of the energy conversion. Lumped element modeling of the EMHR is used to provide physical insight into the coupled energy domain dynamics governing the energy reclamation process. The feasibility of acoustic energy reclamation using an EMHR is demonstrated in a plane wave tube for two power converter topologies. The first is comprised of only a rectifier, and the second uses a rectifier connected to a flyback converter to improve load matching. Experimental results indicate that approximately 30 mW of output power is harvested for an incident sound pressure level of 160 dB with a flyback converter. Replacing widely used organic liquid electrolytes with solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) could effectively solve the safety issues in sodium-ion batteries. Efforts on seeking novel solid-state electrolytes have been continued for decades. However, issues about SSEs still exist, such as low ionic conductivity at ambient temperature, difficulty in manufacturing, low electrochemical stability, poor compatibility with electrodes, etc. Here, sodium carbazolide (Na-CZ) and its THF-coordinated derivatives are rationally fabricated as Na+ conductors, and two of their crystal structures are successfully solved. Among these materials, THF-coordinated complexes exhibit fast Na+ conductivities, i.e., 1.20×10−4 S cm−1 and 1.95×10−3 S cm−1 at 90 °C for Na-CZ-1THF and Na-CZ-2THF, respectively, which are among the top Na+ conductors under the same condition. Furthermore, stable Na plating/stripping is observed even over 400 h cycling, showing outstanding interfacial stability and compatibility against Na electrode. More advantages such as ease of synthesis, low-cost, and cold pressing for molding can be obtained. In situ NMR results revealed that the evaporation of THF may play an essential role in the Na+ migration, where the movement of THF creates defects/vacancies and facilitates the migration of Na+. 相似文献

The recently introduced beam propagation method using complex Jacobi iteration adapted for modeling of non-paraxial beam propagation in nonlinear optical waveguides is presented in this paper. The beam propagation equation is based on our recently proposed modified Padé(1,1) approximant operator. In this paper, we study the compactness in L of the semigroup (St)t≥0 of entropy weak solutions to strictly convex scalar conservation laws in one space dimension. The compactness of St for each t > 0 was established by P. D. Lax. Upper estimates for the Kolmogorov e‐entropy of the image of bounded sets in L1 n L∞ through St were given by C. De Lellis and F. Golse. Here we provide lower estimates on this e‐entropy of the same order as the one established by De Lellis and Golse, thus showing that such an e‐entropy is of size ≈ 1/ε.
