The reaction of [(p‐cymene)RuCl2]2 and [Cp*MCl2]2 (M = Rh/Ir) with benzoyl (2‐pyrimidyl) thiourea (L1) and benzoyl (4‐picolyl) thiourea (L2) led to the formation of cationic complexes bearing formula [(arene) M (L1)к2 (N,S) Cl]+ and [(arene) M (L2)к2(N,S)Cl]+ [(arene) = p‐cymene, M = Ru, ( 1 , 4 ); Cp*, M = Rh ( 2 , 5 ) and Ir ( 3 , 6 )]. Precursor compounds reacted with benzoyl (6‐picolyl) thiourea (L3) affording neutral complexes having formula [(arene) M (L3)к1(S)Cl2] [arene = p‐cymene, M = Ru, ( 7 ); Cp*, M = Rh ( 8 ), Ir ( 9 )]. X‐ray studies revealed that the methyl substituent attached to the pyridine ring in ligands L2 and L3 affects its coordination mode. When methyl group is at the para position of the pyridine ring (L2), the ligand coordinated metal in a bidentate chelating N, S‐ mode whereas methyl group at ortho position (L3), it coordinated in a monodentate mode. Further the anti‐cancer studies of the thiourea derivatives and its complexes carried out against HCT‐116, HT‐29 (human colorectal cancer), Mia‐PaCa‐2 (human pancreatic cancer) and ARPE‐19 (non‐cancer retinal epithelium) cell lines showed that the thiourea ligands are inactive but upon complexation, the metal compounds displayed potent and selective activity against cancer cells in vitro. Iridium complexes were found to be more potent as compared to ruthenium and rhodium complexes.  相似文献

To date, there is no effective treatment for alcoholic liver disease, despite its prevalence world-wide. Because alcohol consumption is associated with oxidative stress-induced liver injury and pro-inflammatory responses, naturally occurring antioxidants and/or anti-inflammatories may be potential therapeutics. Spermidine is an abundant, ubiquitous polyamine that has been found to display strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. To further investigate whether spermidine is an effective intervention for alcohol-induced liver disease, we examined its hepatoprotective properties using a two-hit, chronic ethanol and acute lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced mouse model of liver injury. We determined that spermidine administration prevented ethanol and LPS-induced increases in liver injury using plasma ALT as a readout. Furthermore, histological analysis of tissue from control and treated animals revealed that the pathology associated with ethanol and LPS treatment was prevented in mice additionally treated with spermidine. As predicted, spermidine also prevented ethanol and LPS-induced oxidative stress by decreasing the levels of both reactive oxygen species (ROS) and lipid peroxidation. We further determined that spermidine treatment prevented the nuclear translocation of nuclear factor κB (NFκB) by blocking the phosphorylation of the inhibitory protein, IκB, thereby preventing expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Finally, by measuring expression of known markers of hepatic stellate cell activation and monitoring collagen deposition, we observed that spermidine also prevented alcohol and LPS-induced hepatic fibrosis. Together, our results indicate that spermidine is an antioxidant thereby conferring anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects associated with alcoholic liver injury.  相似文献

A series of novel PABA-substituted 1,3,5-triazine derivatives were developed via microwave assisted synthesis and subsequently tested for antimalarial activity against chloroquine sensitive 3D7 strain of Plasmodium falciparum using chloroquine as standard. Antimalarial screening result showed that synthesized compounds exhibited IC50 in the range of 4.46 to 79.72 μg mL−1. Among the tested compounds, 4c and 4f showed significant antimalarial activity with low binding energies (BE) -172.32 and 160.41 kcal mol−1 via interacting with Arg122 through the involvement of COOH of the phenyl linked to 1,3,5-triazine. In conclusion, these core scaffolds can be used for future antimalarial drug development.  相似文献

We report data from single molecule studies on the interaction between single DNA molecules and core histones using custom-designed horizontal magnetic tweezers. The DNA-core histone complexes were formed using λ-DNA tethers, core histones, and NAP1 and were exposed to forces ranging from ~2 pN to ~74 pN. During the assembly events, we observed the length of the DNA decrease in approximate integer multiples of ~50 nm, suggesting the binding of the histone octamers to the DNA tether. During the mechanically induced disassembly events, we observed disruption lengths in approximate integer multiples of ~50 nm, suggesting the unbinding of one or more octamers from the DNA tether. We also observed histone octamer unbinding events at forces as low as ~2 pN. Our horizontal magnetic tweezers yielded high-resolution, low-noise data on force-mediated DNA-core histone assembly and disassembly processes.  相似文献

Recently, a new class of W-states has been defined by Agarwal and Pati (Phys. Rev. A 74:062320, 2006) and it has been shown that they can be used as a quantum channel for teleportation and superdense coding. In this work, we identify those three-qubit states from the set of the new class of W-states which are most efficient or suitable for quantum teleportation. We show that with some probability is best suited for teleportation channel in the sense that it does not depend on the input state.  相似文献

The zero-field mobilities of many atomic ions in rare gases are calculated from highly accurate, ab initio potential energy curves. They are expected to be accurate to at least 0.05%, thus allowing them to be used to calibrate mobility measurements in different drift-tube and ion mobility mass spectrometers.  相似文献
