We synthesized azobenzene-conjugated bis(terpyridine) Ru(II) and Rh(III) mononuclear and dinuclear complexes and investigated their photochemical properties on excitation of the azo pi-pi band upon 366 nm light irradiation. The Ru mononuclear complex underwent trans-to-cis photoisomerization to reach the photostationary state with only 20% of the cis form, while the Ru dinuclear complex did not isomerize at all photochemically. On the other hand, the mononuclear and dinuclear Rh complexes showed almost complete trans-to-cis photoisomerization behavior. Cis forms of the Rh complexes thermally returned to the trans form at a much slower rate than those of organic azobenzenes, but they did not isomerize photochemically. The reduction potential of the cis forms was 80 mV more negative than that of the trans forms. The photoisomerization quantum yields of the Rh complexes were strongly dependent on the polarity, viscosity, and donor site of the solvents as well as the size of the counterions. We investigated the photoisomerization process of these complexes using femtosecond absorption spectroscopy. For the Rh complexes, we observed S(n) <-- S(2) and S(n) <-- S(1) absorption bands similar to those of organic azobenzenes. For the Ru complexes, we observed very fast bleaching of the MLCT band of the Ru complex, which indicated that the energy transfer pathway to the MLCT was the primary cause of the depressed photoisomerization. The electronic structures, which were estimated from ZINDO molecular orbital calculation, supported the different photochemical reaction behavior between the Ru and Rh complexes.  相似文献

The effect of confinement on the phase changes and dynamics of acetonitrile in mesoporous MCM-41 was studied by use of adsorption, FT-IR, DSC, and quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS) measurements. Acetonitrile molecules in a monolayer interact strongly with surface hydroxyls to be registered and perturb the triple bond in the C[triple bond]N group. Adsorbed molecules above the monolayer through to the central part of the cylindrical pores are capillary condensed molecules (cc-acetonitrile), but they do not show the hysteresis loop in adsorption-desorption isotherms, i.e., second order capillary condensation. FT-IR measurements indicated that the condensed phase is very similar to the bulk liquid. The cc-acetonitrile freezes at temperatures that depend on the pore size of the MCM-41 down to 29.1 A (C14), below which it is not frozen. In addition, phase changes between alpha-type and beta-type acetonitriles were observed below the melting points. Application of the Gibbs-Thomson equation, assuming the unfrozen layer thickness to be 0.7 nm, gave the interface free energy differences between the interfaces, i.e., Deltagamma(l/alpha) = 22.4 mJ m(-2) for the liquid/pore surface (ps) and alpha-type/ps, and Deltagamma(alpha/beta) = 3.17 mJ m(-2) for alpha-type/ps and beta-type/ps, respectively. QENS experiments substantiate the differing behaviors of monolayer acetonitrile and cc-acetonitrile. The monolayer acetonitrile molecules are anchored so as not to translate. The two Lorentzian analysis of QENS spectra for cc-acetonitriles showed translational motion but markedly slowed. However, the activation energy for cc-acetonitrile in MCM-41 (C18) is 7.0 kJ mol(-1) compared to the bulk value of 12.7 kJ mol(-1). The relaxation times for tumbling rotational diffusion of cc-acetonitrile are similar to bulk values.  相似文献

The effect of the calcium-binding protein regucalcin on the Ca2+ transport system in the liver microsomes from fed rats was investigated. Ca2+ transport was assayed by the method of Millipore filtration to estimate microsomal 45Ca2+ accumulation following addition of 10 mM adenosine triphosphate (ATP). 45Ca2+ uptake was retarded by the presence of regucalcin (1.0-4.0 microM). This retardation was remarkable at 1 min after regucalcin addition, while appreciable retardation was no longer seen at 5 min. Regucalcin (2.0 microM)-induced retardation of 45Ca2+ uptake was prevented by the presence of calmodulin (5 micrograms/ml). Calmodulin alone (1 and 5 micrograms/ml) caused a significant increase in 45Ca2+ uptake at 3 min after the start of incubation. Also, regucalcin (2.0 microM)-induced retardation of 45Ca2+ uptake was completely blocked by the presence of a Ca2(+)-trapping agent, oxalate (3 mM). On the other hand, 45Ca2+, which accumulated in microsomes during 5 min after ATP addition, was markedly released by the addition of regucalcin. This release was dose-dependent (0.5-4.0 microM). Guanosine triphosphate (GTP; 10-100 microM) caused a significant release of 45Ca2+ from the microsomes. The presence of regucalcin (2.0 microM) further enhanced the GTP effect. Regucalcin (2.0 microM)-induced release of 45Ca2+ was not blocked by the presence of the protein thiol-protecting agent dithiothreitol (0.1 mM). The presence of oxalate (3 mM) completely blocked the effect of regucalcin on 45Ca2+ release from the microsomes. These results indicate that regucalcin stimulates Ca2+ release from liver microsomes, and that the protein retards the microsomal Ca2+ uptake. The present study suggests that regucalcin can regulate the Ca2+ transport system in rat liver microsomes.  相似文献

Solid-supported α,α′-dioxothiones are easily obtained starting from β-ketoester modified Wang and hydroxymethylated polystyrene resins. The hetero Diels-Alder reactions (HDAR) of these species, used either as electron-poor dienes or dienophiles, followed by a simple cleavage of the products from the resin by trans-esterification with sodium methoxide, allowed the isolation of the desired cycloadducts in overall yields up to 90%.  相似文献

Doped ceria (CeO2) compounds are fluorite type oxides that show oxygen ionic conductivity higher than yttria stabilized zirconia, in oxidizing atmosphere. In order to improve the conductivity, the effective index was suggested to maximize the oxygen ionic conductivity in doped CeO2 based oxides. In addition, the true microstructure of doped CeO2 was observed at atomic scale for conclusion of conduction mechanism. Doped CeO2 had small domains (10-50 nm) with ordered structure in a grain. It is found that the electrolytic properties strongly depended on the nano-structural feature at atomic scale in doped CeO2 electrolyte. PVC was crosslinked by immersing PVC–dithiol blends in ethylenediamine at 30°C. Properties of the products depended on the chain length and chemical structure of the crosslinkage and on the molecular weight of the polymer chain between crosslinks Mc. Crosslinking by the agent of soft structure and long molecular chain resulted in high tensile strength at break and impact strength and low brittle temperature. The use of the crosslinking agent of short molecular chain gave high yield strength, Young's modulus, and heat distortion temperature. The relation of Mc and the chemical structure of the crosslinks to the properties of the crosslinked rigid polymer was discussed in regard to the crosslinking effect and plasticizing effect.  相似文献

(2R,5S)-2-Methyl-5-hexanolide and its antipode were synthesized in highly optically pure state (?98–99% e.e.) starting from ethyl (S)-lactate and the enantiomers of methyl β-hydroxyisobutyrate. The specific rotations of our samples were [α]D±91.0-93.5° (CHCl3), while the reported values of the samples prepared by resolution or asymmetric synthesis were ±64.5–65.6°.  相似文献
