Rh(III)-catalyzed tandem oxidative olefination-Michael reactions between aryl carboxamides and alkenes

Rh(III)-catalyzed oxidative coupling reactions between benzamides or heteroaryl carboxamides and olefins have been developed. The vinylation product can further undergo a Michael reaction leading to γ-lactam in the case of electron-withdrawing olefins.     

Microspherical ZnO synthesized from a metal-organic precursor for supercapacitors

In this paper, ZnO microspheres, which are composed of irregular nanoparticles, have been synthesized successfully from a metal-organic precursor. The average diameter is about 3.5 μm and the specific surface area is 7.53 m² g^?1. Measured by electrochemical tests as electrode materials for supercapacitors, the ZnO powders show high specific capacitances (1017.5 Fg^?1 at 5 Ag^?1 and 562.5 Fg^?1 at 50 Ag^?1, respectively) and excellent cycling stability (the specific capacitance was kept at 631.2 Fg^?1 and 89.2 % retention after 3000 cycles at 18 Ag^?1). These results show that the microspherical ZnO could be a potential electrode material for supercapacitors.

针对测试系统中USB2.0接口已不能满足当代测试速度需求,提出一种基于USB3.0和FPGA的高速读数的解决方案;该方案以FPGA为核心控制器,EZ-USB FX3被配置成Slave Fifo从模式;通过对DMA通道和GPIF II接口优化设计以实现指令的下传和数据的高速上传;经实际传输测试,该读数盒能在传输数率高达228 MB/s时依然能保持正确无误的高速传输。     

Suppression of pump-to-Stokes relative intensity noise transfer in Raman fiber laser by injection of modulated signal

A feasible approach is theoretically demonstrated that suppresses the relative intensity noise (RIN) transfer from pump sources to the proposed Raman fiber laser (RFL) output at the first-order Stokes line. The technique is accomplished by injecting a modulated signal at second-order Stokes shift from the pump wavelength according to the monitored RFL output, which indirectly consumes the pump power fluctuations and results in suppression of the RIN transfer to the RFL output. With the RFL used as a pump source for co-pumped Raman fiber amplifiers, further calculation results show that the Q-factor penalty due to RIN transfer can be dramatically reduced.     

Gold- and iodine-mediated internal oxygen transfer of nitrone- and sulfoxide-functionalized alkynes

Intramolecular oxygen transfer of nitrone- and sulfoxide-alkynes was achieved using a catalytic amount of Au(I) and a stoichiometric amount of iodine. The Au(I)-catalyzed cyclization of a nitrone-terminal alkyne afforded a cyclic iminoester, while cyclization of analogous nitrone-internal alkynes yielded aldehyde-enones. The I(2)-mediated cyclization of nitrone-alkynes afforded iodinated γ-lactams and the I(2)-mediated internal redox of the closely related sulfoxide-alkynes gave diketones functionalized with a thoiether.     

Synthesis of quinolines via Rh(III)-catalyzed oxidative annulation of pyridines

Selective synthesis of quinolines has been achieved via oxidative annulation of functionalized pyridines with two alkyne molecules under Rh(III)-catalyzed cascade C-H activation of pyridines using Cu(OAc)(2) as an oxidant. The selectivity of this reaction is oxidant-dependent, particularly on the anion of the oxidant.     

800 mW/1484 nm highly efficient two-cascaded phosphosilicate Raman fiber laser pumped by Nd:YVO4 solid-state laser

Using 1064 nm CW Nd:YVO₄ solid-state laser as a pump, 1-km phosphosilicate fiber and cascaded cavities with two pairs of fiber Bragg grating mirrors for 1239 and 1484 nm, we obtained a CW 800 mW/1484 nm Raman fiber laser (RFL) for an actual incident pump power of about 2 W (Nd:YVO₄ power of 6.90 W). The conversion efficiency is as high as 40%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest conversion efficiency of RFL pumped by solid-state laser. The output power instability at 1484 nm in half an hour is less than 3%. In addition, the numerical simulations are also performed. Good agreement between the results of numerical simulation and the results of the experiment has been demonstrated.

Separation of acteoside and linarin from Buddlejae Flos by high‐speed countercurrent chromatography and their anti‐inflammatory activities

Buddleja officinalis Maxim., a deciduous, flowering shrub, is used as a traditional Chinese medicine; the bioactivity of B. officinalis is primarily due to flavonoids and phenylethanoid glycosides. In the study, acteoside and linarin were successfully isolated from B. officinalis by high‐speed countercurrent chromatography with a two‐phase solvent system composed of ethyl acetate: n‐butanol: water (5:0.8:5, v/v/v). The purities of acteoside and linarin were determined to be 97.3 and 98.2%, respectively, using one‐step high‐speed countercurrent chromatography separation. The chemical structures of the two compounds were identified by electrospray ionization‐mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance. After separation, the anti‐inflammatory effects of the two compounds were evaluated using lipopolysaccharide‐induced human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Acteoside and linarin inhibited the expression of nitric oxide, tumor necrosis factor α and interleukin 1β, which demonstrated that acteoside and linarin possessed anti‐inflammatory activity.     

High birefringence fiber ring resonator with an inline reflector for single-frequency fiber lasers

A high birefringence fiber (HBF) ring resonator with an inline weak reflector is newly proposed to generate narrowband reflection peaks. When a linear polarizer is located at the input port, effective free spectral range (FSR) of the reflected linearly polarized light is dramatically enhanced in single physical ring setup due to the intrinsic vernier effect between the traveling orthogonally polarized lights along the fast and slow axes of the HBF. What’s more, the side reflectivity suppression ratio can reach 6 dB. To sum up, these special properties facilitate its application in single-frequency fiber lasers.
