Efficient Method for Synthesis of the Derivatives of 5‐Arylidene Barbituric Acid Catalyzed by Aminosulfonic Acid With Grinding

Aminosulfonic acid is an environmentally friendly catalyst. Grinding a mixture of aromatic aldehydes, barbituric acid, and H₂NSO₃H at room temperature (without any solvent) gave 5‐arylidene barbituric acid in high yields, providing a simple and efficient route to synthesis of these compounds.     

Synthesis of Ionic Liquids Containing the Hydroxyl Functionality for Extracting Nonylphenol and Octylphenol in Water

A new series of task-specific ionic liquids (TSILs) containing hydroxyl groups was prepared and applied for extracting 4-nonylphenol (4-NP) and 4-tert-octylphenol (4-t-OP) in water. These new TSILs showed much greater extraction efficiencies for 4-NP and 4-t-OP than the common typical ionic liquids 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([C₄mim][PF₆]) and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([C₆mim][PF₆]).

5′-O-TBDMS-3′-O--(1H-Imidazole-1-Thiocarbonyl)thymidine: A Novel Intermediate for the Synthesis of 2,3′-Anhydrothymidine

Thermal or base-promoted conversion of 5′-O-TBDMS-3′-O-(1H-imidazole-1-thiocarbonyl)thymidine (1) afforded 5′-O-TBDMS-2,3′-anhydro-thymidine (2), a pivotal intermediate for the transformation of the 3′-hydroxy group of 2′-deoxyribonucleosides, in high yield.     

Efficient Green Procedure for the Synthesis of Coumarin Derivatives by a One‐Pot,Three‐Component Reaction under Solvent‐Free Conditions

A simple, efficient, and general method has been developed for the synthesis of coumarin derivatives through a one‐pot reaction of aromatic aldehydes, 2,2‐dimethyl‐1,3‐dioxane‐4,6‐dione and 5,5‐dimethyl‐1,3‐cyclohexanedione, in the presence of TEBA under solvent‐free conditions using grinding methods. The mild reaction conditions, simple protocol, high yields, and cleaner reaction make this protocol practical and economically attractive.     

Ammonium Chlorochromate Adsorbed on Silica Gel: A New Reagent for the Oxidation of Alcohols and Benzoins to Corresponding Carbonyl Compounds

A new reagent, Ammonium chlorochromate adsorbed on silica gel, suitable for the oxidation of alcohols and benzoins to the corresponding carbonyl compounds is described.     

Study on the Synthesis and Bioactivity of Novel Mahkoside A Derivatives

Abstract

A series of novel Mahkoside A derivatives was synthesized, and their in vitro cytotoxic activities were evaluated against the human cancer cell line Ec‐9706. A Preliminary structure–activity relationship study showed compounds 7 and 8 have obvious cytotoxic activities (IC₅₀: 30.0 and 12.5 µg · mL^?1, respectively).     

Biginelli-Like Cyclocondensation Reaction: Efficient Synthesis of 4,6-Diarylpyrimidin-2(1H)-one Under Solvent-Free Conditions

An efficient and facile synthesis of 4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2(1H)-one via a Biginelli-like reaction of aromatic aldehydes, aromatic ketones, and urea in the presence of NaOH under solvent-free conditions using a heating method has been developed. Compared with the classical reaction conditions, this new synthetic method has the advantages of excellent yields, shorter reaction time, and mild reaction conditions.      

A novel multicomponent reaction involving isoquinoline,allenoate and activated ketone

The reaction of isoquinoline and allenoate with activated ketone resulted in a novel three component reaction, affording [1,3]oxazino[2,3-a]isoquinoline derivatives in moderate yields along with moderate diastereoselectivities via 1,4-dipolar cycloaddition. It was also found that when isatins were used as substrates, the regioselectivity of cycloadducts was different from those using ethyl trifluoropyruvate as substrate.     

Diastereoselective Synthesis of γ-Butenolides Catalyzed by Potassium tert-Butoxide

Potassium tert-butoxide (0.1 mol%) catalyzed a vinylogous Mukaiyama aldol reaction between aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes with 2-(trimethylsilyloxy)furan. The corresponding γ-butenolides were obtained in good yields with good diastereoselectivities.     

Chiral squaramides catalyzed diastereo- and enantioselective Michael addition of α-substituted isocyanoacetates to N-aryl maleimides

An efficient diastereo- and enantioselective Michael addition of α-substituted isocyanoacetates to N-aryl maleimides catalyzed by quinine or cyclohexane-1,2-diamine derived squaramide catalysts has been disclosed, affording the corresponding adducts in good yields (up to 99%), high diastereoselectivities (up to >20:1 dr) and good to excellent enantioselectivities (up to 94% ee) under mild conditions.
