Organic materials with multiple emissions tunable by external stimuli represent a great challenge. TTPyr, crystallizing in different polymorphs, shows a very rich photophyisics comprising excitation-dependent fluorescence and phosphorescence at ambient conditions, and mechanochromic and thermochromic behavior. Transformation among the different species has been followed by thermal and X-ray diffraction analyses and the emissive features interpreted through structural results and DFT/TDDFT calculations. Particularly intriguing is the polymorph TTPyr(HT), serendipitously obtained at high temperature but stable also at room temperature, whose non-centrosymmetric structure guarantees an SHG efficiency 10 times higher than that of standard urea. Its crystal packing, where only the TT units are strongly rigidified by π-π stacking interactions while the Pyr moieties possess partial conformational freedom, is responsible for the observed dual fluorescence. The potentialities of TTPyr for bioimaging have been successfully established.  相似文献

Vincent van Gogh used fugitive red lake pigments that have faded in some paintings. Mapping their distribution is key to understanding how his paintings have changed with time. While red lake pigments can be identified from microsamples, in situ identification and mapping remain challenging. This paper explores the ability of molecular fluorescence imaging spectroscopy to identify and, more importantly, map residual non‐degraded red lakes. The high sensitivity of this method enabled identification of the emission spectra of eosin (tetrabromine fluorescein) lake mixed with lead or zinc white at lower concentrations than elemental X‐ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy used on account of bromine. The molecular fluorescence mapping of residual eosin and two carmine red lakes in van Gogh's The Olive Orchard is demonstrated and compared with XRF imaging spectroscopy. The red lakes are consistent with the composition of paint tubes known to have been used by van Gogh.  相似文献

A general method is presented to explicitly compute autocovariance functions for non-Poisson dichotomous noise based on renewal theory. The method is specialized to a random telegraph signal of Mittag-Leffler type. Analytical predictions are compared to Monte Carlo simulations. Non-Poisson dichotomous noise is non-stationary and standard spectral methods fail to describe it properly as they assume stationarity.  相似文献

Weak steady Mach reflections are numerically simulated using unstructured grids by means of either “shock-fitting” or “shock-capturing” techniques. It is shown that shock-fitting allows using coarser meshes than those required by shock-capturing, since the latter needs mesh refinement in the direction normal to the discontinuities, which is not needed using the former approach. The shock-fitted solution is also free from the numerical disturbances that arise along the captured discontinuities and pollute the captured solution in the smooth flowfield region. Finally, the shock-fitting solutions show the presence of a small region next to the Mach stem and the reflected shock downstream of the triple point, characterized by very high gradients.  相似文献

We exhibit a class of integer spin systems whose free energy can be written in term of an absolutely convergent series at any temperature. This class includes spin systems on ℤ d interacting through infinite range pair potential polynomially decaying at large distances r at a rate 1/r d+ε with ε>0. It also contains the Blume-Emery-Griffiths model in the disordered phase at large values of the crystal field.  相似文献

A simple spray pyrolysis setup is used to grow multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), from a ferrocene solution in benzene as precursor. The effects of process variables such as growth temperature, position of the aerosol generator and position in the reactor where the sample was formed were investigated. These variables have a strong influence on the graphitization degree, homogeneity, diameter and alignment of the nanotubes, as observed by TEM, SEM, XRD and Raman spectroscopy. Vertically aligned MWCNT arrays with high density were obtained in large areas (10 × 10 mm2), with high yield (2.1 mg cm−2) and at a growth rate at 1.43 μm min−1, by a suitable choice of the experimental conditions.  相似文献

 Given an infinite graph 𝔾 quasi-transitive and amenable with maximum degree Δ, we show that reduced ground state degeneracy per site W r (𝔾, q) of the q-state antiferromagnetic Potts model at zero temperature on 𝔾 is analytic in the variable 1/q, whenever |2Δe 3 /q|<1. This result proves, in an even stronger formulation, a conjecture originally sketched in [12] and explicitly formulated in [16 and 19], based on which a sufficient condition for W r (𝔾, q) to be analytic at 1/q=0 is that 𝔾 is a regular lattice. Light scattering and reflection measurements using attenuated total reflection technique for s polarization of the incident light on a finite one-dimensional photonic crystal are reported. Angular specular reflection was measured experimentally to determine, the optimum thickness, the angular position of the surface mode, and the number of bi-layers of the system. It was demonstrated that the position of the surface mode inside the last film is close to the asymptotic value when the number of periods is increased. Spectral reflection measurements were made to determine experimentally the band gap width and measure the dispersion relation of the surface mode inside this band. The corresponding field amplitude was calculated (∣E∣2) showing that in resonant conditions it has a maximum near the surface. The angular dependence of the scattered light measured displays a peak caused by singles cattering and located approximately at the excitation angle of the surface electromagnetic mode. When the incident light is in resonance with the surface electromagnetic wave, it is found experimentally that the scattering of light is enhanced overall by approximately one order of magnitude in comparison with the off-resonance case.  相似文献

Designing and developing flexible electronics requires a thorough investigation of the substrates available for the fabrication of devices. Here, we present a practical study on a variety of significant substrates: polyethylene terephthalate (PET), its heat‐stabilized (HS) derivative, HS‐PET, and polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) plastic insulating films; indium tin oxide (ITO)‐coated ITO/PEN and ITO/PET transparent conducting films; rigid ITO/glass and FTO/glass substrates; stainless steel and titanium foils. We put the substrates through a range of tests these actually undergo during device fabrication to determine their optical, mechanical flexibility (under different types of tensile and compressive stress bending with and without a PEDOT:PSS conducting polymer layer), solvent resistance, stability to temperature treatment (conductivity and deformation), and to UV irradiation. We highlight issues and propose solutions to improve substrate response. The results and thresholds extracted reveal limitations and windows of opportunity useful for the designer of flexible optoelectronics in determining manufacturing processes and the final applications under everyday operation. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
