Mean curvature flows and isotopy of maps between spheres

Let f be a smooth map between unit spheres of possibly different dimensions. We prove the global existence and convergence of the mean curvature flow of the graph of f under various conditions. A corollary is that any area‐decreasing map between unit spheres (of possibly different dimensions) is isotopic to a constant map. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.     

Chemical synthesis and electric properties of the conducting copolymer of aniline and o‐aminophenol

A copolymer, poly(aniline‐co‐o‐aminophenol), was prepared chemically by using ammonium peroxydisulfate as an oxidant. The monomer concentration ratio of o‐aminophenol to aniline strongly influences the copolymerization rate and properties of the copolymer. The optimum composition of a mixture for the chemical copolymerization consisted of 0.3 M aniline, 0.021 M o‐aminophenol, 0.42 M ammonium peroxydisulfate, and 2 M H₂SO₄. The result of cyclic voltammograms in a potential region of ?0.20 to 0.80 V (vs.SCE) indicates that the electrochemical activity of the copolymer prepared under the optimum condition is similar to that of polyaniline in more acid solutions. However, the copolymer still holds the good electrochemical activity until pH 11.0. Therefore, the pH dependence of the electrochemical property of the copolymer is improved, compared with poly(aniline‐co‐o‐aminophenol) prepared electrochemically, and is much better than that of polyaniline. The spectra of IR and ¹H NMR confirm that o‐aminophenol units are included in the copolymer chain, which play a key role in extending the usable pH region of the copolymer. The visible spectra of the copolymers show that a high concentration ratio of o‐aminophenol to aniline in a mixture inhibits the chain growth. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. PDT光敏剂HA在不同液相体系下的光谱特性研究

为了对候选光敏剂竹红菌甲素(HA)进行改性并保持其优异的敏化特性,对HA的光谱特性和激发态性质作了进一步的指认。系统研究了HA在不同液相体系下的吸收和荧光光谱,对指认HA的光谱和电子跃迁的机制提出了新的依据,结果表明,吸收带I产生于π-π*跃迁,吸收带Ⅱ和Ⅲ产生于P-π共轭所导致的L→aπ跃迁的电子振动结构;荧光发射带I和Ⅱ是产生于同一跃迁机制S1(L,aπ)→S0的正常荧光的振动结构。     

PbWO4晶体空位型缺陷电子结构的研究

采用基于密度泛函理论的相对论性离散变分和嵌入团簇方法计算了PbWO4晶体中与氧空位和铅空位相关缺陷的态密度分布,并运用过渡态方法计算了其激发能.结果表明:PbWO4晶体中WO3+VO缺陷的O2p→W5d跃迁可引起350nm和420nm附近的吸收,并且发现VPb的存在可以使WO42基团的禁带宽度明显变小 关键词： PbWO4晶体 密度泛函 氧空位和铅空位 态密度分布

First-principles study on the origin of optical transitions to be associated with F colour centers for PbWO4 crystals

The electronic structures of PbWO₄ crystals containing F type color centers with the lattice structure optimized are studied within the framework of the fully relativistic self-consistent Direc–Slater theory, using a numerically discrete variational (DV-Xα) method. The calculated results show that F and F⁺ centers have donor energy level in forbidden band. Their optical transition energy are 1.84 eV, 2.21 eV, respectively, which corresponds to the 680 nm, 550 nm absorption bands. It predicts that the 680 nm, 550 nm absorption bands originate form the F and F⁺ centers in PbWO₄ crystals.     

Microwave absorption properties of composite powders with low density

The composites of barium ferrite coated on hollow ceramic microspheres were prepared using sol-gel technique. The crystal structure, morphology and microwave absorption properties of composite powders with different weight ratio of microspheres were studied with XRD, EDS, FESEM and vector network analyzer. The results show that the microwave absorption properties of composite powders are greatly improved. The maximum microwave loss of composite powders reaches 31 dB with an amount of 50 wt.% microspheres, and its density is only about 1.80 g/cm³. The effect of hollow ceramic microspheres on the microwave absorption property is also discussed.     

Characterization of iron surface modified by 2-mercaptobenzothiazole self-assembled monolayers

A self-assembled monolayer of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT) adsorbed on the iron surface was prepared. The films were characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared reflection spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Besides, the microcalorimetry method was utilized to study the self-assembled process on iron surface and the adsorption mechanism was discussed from the power-time curve. The results indicated that MBT was able to form a film spontaneously on iron surface and the presence of it could protect iron from corrosion effectively. However, the assembling time and the concentration influence the protection efficiency. Quantum chemical calculations, according to which adsorption mechanism was discussed, could explain the experimental results to some extent.
