We study zigzag graphene nanoribbons with periodic edge roughness and report significant band gap opening. Interestingly, such nanoribbons have a near-midgap state with a small band width. We extensively study the electronic structure and the electric-field modulation of the conduction/valence bands and the near-midgap state. We summarize the important electronic-structure features like the band gap, the band width and the effective mass. We show that by applying an external electric field in the width direction, the band width of the near-midgap state varies linearly due to the edge localization, whereas the band gap remains almost constant. Additionally, the effective mass of these states can switch polarity from negative (hole-like) to positive (carrier-like) at the Γ-point with the field modulation.  相似文献

In this paper, we use the variational iteration technique to suggest and analyze some new iterative methods for solving a system of nonlinear equations. We prove that the new method has fourth-order convergence. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the efficiency and performance of the new iterative methods. The water-soaked seeds of sunflower were exposed to low power continuous wave He-Ne laser irradiation of energies 0, 100, 300 and 500 mJ to evaluate the effect on various biochemical, physiological, growth and yield parameters of sunflower. The experiments which consisted of four replicates arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) were carried out under the greenhouse conditions. The physiological attributes like, photosynthetic rate (A), transpiration rate (E), intrinsic CO(2) concentration (C(i) ), stomatal conductance (g(s)), chlorophyll a and b contents, relative membrane permeability and leaf water (ψ(w)), osmotic (ψ(s)) and turgor (ψ(p)) potentials, relative water contents and leaf area increased significantly as compared to control due to He-Ne treatment of seeds. The activities of superoxide dismutase, peroxidase and catalases and contents of total soluble proteins, malondialdehyde, proline and leaf total phenolic also increased due to laser treatment. Significant increase in growth parameters of sunflower like shoot fresh and dry masses, root fresh and dry masses, root and shoot lengths, number of leaves per plant and stem diameter has also been observed. The contents of K, Ca and Mg in shoot and root were also increased and an overall increase of up to 28.12% was observed due to laser treatment.  相似文献

Burgers’ equation is solved numerically with Sobolev gradient methods. A comparison is shown with other numerical schemes presented in this journal, such as modified Adomian method (MAM) [1] and by a variational method (VM) which is based on the method of discretization in time [2]. It is shown that the Sobolev gradient methods are highly efficient while at the same time retaining the simplicity of steepest descent algorithms.  相似文献

A novel tetradentate salicylic acid-formaldehyde ligand containing piperazine moiety (SFP) was synthesized by condensation of salicylic acid, formaldehyde and piperazine in presence of base catalyst, which was subjected for the preparation of coordination polymers with metal ions like manganese(II), cobalt(II), copper(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II). All the synthesized polymeric compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, (1)H NMR and electronic spectral studies. The thermal stability was determined by thermogravimetric analysis and thermal data revealed that all the polymer metal complexes show good thermal stability than their parent ligand. Electronic spectral data and magnetic moment values revealed that polymer metal complexes of Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) show an octahedral geometry while Cu(II) and Zn(II) show distorted octahedral and tetrahedral geometry respectively. The antimicrobial screening of the ligand and coordination polymers was done by using Agar well diffusion method against various bacteria and fungi. It was evident from the data that antibacterial and antifungal activity increased on chelation and all the polymer metal complexes show excellent antimicrobial activity than their parent ligand.  相似文献

The present study reports the effect of several operating parameters on the thermal performance of the vortex tube. The experimental results indicate that the inlet pressure and the cold fraction are the most significant parameters influencing the vortex tube performance. The experimental data point out that insulation has minimal effect on the vortex tube performance. The same inlet pressure tests show that energy separation increases as number of inlet nozzle increases.  相似文献

The gas-to-infinite dilution fluorine chemical shifts of CF4, SiF4, SF6, C6F6, p-fluorotoluene and p-difluorobenzene have been measured for a series of non-polar solvents. Downfield displacements ranging from 3–16 p.p.m. have been observed. Comparisons with proton solvent shifts make it evident that the London dispersion forces are the principal agent in causing the shifts. However, unlike proton resonance where the local diamagnetic shielding is mostly affected, it is probably through the local paramagnetic shielding that solvents alter fluorine chemical shifts.  相似文献

In this study, a simple, fast, accurate and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of tranexamic acid in bulk and pharmaceutical preparations. The method is based on the reaction of ninhydrin with the primary amino group of tranexamic acid in the basic medium at pH 8.0. The reaction produces a bluish-purple color which absorbs maximally at 565 nm. Beer's law was obeyed in the range of 3-40 microg ml(-1) with molar absorptivity of 5.093 x 10(3) L mol(-1) cm(-1). The effects of various factors such as temperature, heating time, concentration of reagent, color stability and interferences were investigated to optimize the procedure. The results have been validated analytically and statistically. The proposed method has been applied for the determination of tranexamic acid in bulk and pharmaceutical preparations with good results.  相似文献

Atomically resolved non-contact fm mode atomic force microscopy images have been obtained from TiO2(100) surfaces. The 1×1 surface is observed, as well as the 1×3 phase previously imaged with STM. The morphology of the latter reconstruction consists of (110) microfacets. An additional reconstruction with 1×3 symmetry is observed, which is assigned to a phase intermediate between the 1×1 and 1×3-microfacet terminations.  相似文献
