Water-soluble organic dppz analogues--tuning DNA binding affinities, luminescence, and photo-redox properties

Three new water-soluble dppz derivatives are reported, one of which binds to DNA with an affinity comparable to any mononuclear metal complex and also displays a high selectivity for GC sites.

Let X be a Banach space, let K be a non–empty closed subset of X and let T : K → X be a non–self mapping. The main result of this paper is that if T satisfies the contractive–type condition (1.1) below and maps ?K (?K the boundary of K) into K then T has a unique fixed point in K.     

Dendrimers as size selective inhibitors to protein-protein binding

This communication describes how the "quantized" size effect of dendrimers can be exploited towards a size selective binding mechanism for the inhibition of protein-protein binding.
