An SR-modified Au cluster with a sub-nanometer size, Au11(S-4-NC5H4)3(PPh3)7 (1), has been synthesized by NaBH4 reduction of Au(S-py)(PPh3) or by reacting [Au9(PPh3)8](NO3)3 with HS-4-py in good yield. Its molecular structure has been elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction, and TEM observation has been achieved for the first time for this size of SR-modified Au clusters. The core structure is best described in terms of an incomplete icosahedron. CV measurements in CH2Cl2 have suggested that the cluster does not coagulate in solution with significant concentration.  相似文献

The morphology of and electron tunneling through single and cluster cytochrome c molecules deposited on self-assembled dodecanthiol monolayer film on a gold substrate have been studied experimentally using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and scanning tunneling spectroscopy. STM images of a single cytochrome c molecule revealed a globular structure with a diameter of 4 nm and height of 1.5 nm. A spectroscopic study obtained by recording tunneling current–bias voltage (VI) curves revealed that the STM current increases stepwise at asymmetric threshold sample bias voltages of +100 mV and –200 mV.  相似文献

A novel approach for immobilization of probe oligonucleotides that uses zirconium phosphate modified silica nanoparticles is proposed. The surface modification of nanoparticles was carried out in two stages. Initially binding of Zr4+ to the surface of silica nanoparticles and later treated with phosphoric acid for terminal phosphate groups. Oligonucleotide probes modified with amine group at 5'-end were strongly binds to the phosphate terminated silica nanoparticles with imidazole in presence of 0.1 mol L(-1) EDC [N-ethyl-N'-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide], as phosphate groups are more reactive towards amine group. Various studies, i.e., synthesis of silica nanoparticles, their surface modification, probe immobilization, measurement of hybridization and effect of bovine serum albumin (BSA) were carried out during optimization of reaction conditions. The significant reduction in the background signal was observed by treating the probe modified silica nanoparticles with bovine serum albumin prior to hybridization. The probe modified silica nanoparticles were retained their properties and the hybridization was induced by exposure of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) containing silica nanoparticles to the complementary DNA in solution. The decrease in the fluorescence signal for one mismatch and three mismatch was observed upon hybridization of probe with target DNAs, while there was no response for the random target ssDNA under the same experimental conditions. The intensity of fluorescence signal was linear to the concentration of target DNA ranging from 3.9 x 10(-9) to 3.0 x 10(-6)mol L(-1). A detection limit of 1.22 x 10(-9) mol L(-1) of oligonucleotides can be estimated. The proposed hybridization assay is simple and possesses good analytical characteristics and it can provide an effective and efficient route in the development of DNA biosensors and biochips.  相似文献

Dendritic molecules appended with multiple zinc porphyrin units (DPm, m [number of zinc porphyrin units] = 6, 12, and 24) trap bipyridine compounds carrying multiple fullerene units (Py2Fn, n [number of C60 units] = 1-3), affording coordination complexes DPm superset Py2Fn having a photoactive layer consisting of spatially segregated donor and acceptor arrays on their surface. Complexes DPm superset Py2Fn are stable enough (K [average binding affinity] = 1.1 x 10(6)-4.4 x 10(6) M(-1) in CHCl3 at 25 degrees C) to be isolated by gel permeation chromatography. UHV-STM microscopy enables clear visualization of a petal-like structure of DP12 superset Py2F3. Photoexcitation of the zinc porphyrin units in DPm superset Py2Fn results in a zinc porphyrin-to-fullerene electron transfer to generate a charge separation. The charge-separation rate constant (kCS) in CH2Cl2 at 20 degrees C increases from 0.26 x 10(10) to 2.3 x 10(10) s(-1) upon increment of m and n, whereas the charge-recombination rate constant (kCR) remains almost unchanged at 4.5 x 10(6)-6.7 x 10(6) s(-1). Consequently, DP24 supersetPy2F3 furnishes the largest ratio of kCS/kCR (3400) among the family.  相似文献

A new "molecular photoelectronic transducer", working in a cyclic manner totally powered with light irradiation, has been constructed. The UV/blue-controlled repetitive motion of azobenzene moieties in 6,6'-bis(4' '-tolylazo)-4,4'-bis(4-tertbutylphenyl)-2,2'-bipyridine causes reciprocal CuI translocation between two coordination environments, resulting in pumping of the redox potential of CuI. Therefore, UV/blue light information can be successfully transformed into an electrode potential change and positive/negative current response, which is closely related to natural visual transduction both functionally and mechanically. This result demonstrates a new strategy for artificial molecular machine assembly, i.e. forming a path with multistep chemical reactions between input/output couples at choice.  相似文献

New mixed metal clusters with M19 metal frameworks have been synthesized by NaBH4 reduction of Au(NO3)(PMe2Ph) together with AgNO3 in ethanol. Single crystal X-ray diffraction has revealed Au12Ag7 and Au17Ag2 metal skeletons for these clusters, which are best described in terms of bicapped pentagonal antiprismatic cages with a staggered-staggered M(5) ring configuration. These clusters connect the missing link between M13 icosahedral and M25 biicosahedral clusters providing a view of the cluster growth process. A TEM image of this cluster has been observed, which has clearly demonstrated single-sized nano-particles of less than 1.0 nm.  相似文献
