Apocynin (APO) is a known multi-enzymatic complexed compound, employed as a viable NADPH oxidase (NOX) inhibitor, extensively used in both traditional and modern-day therapeutic strategies to combat neuronal disorders. However, its therapeutic efficacy is limited by lower solubility and lesser bioavailability; thus, a suitable nanocarrier system to overcome such limitations is needed. The present study is designed to fabricate APO-loaded polymeric nanoparticles (APO-NPs) to enhance its therapeutic efficacy and sustainability in the biological system. The optimized APO NPs in the study exhibited 103.6 ± 6.8 nm and −13.7 ± 0.43 mV of particle size and zeta potential, respectively, along with further confirmation by TEM. In addition, the antioxidant (AO) abilities quantified by DPPH and nitric oxide scavenging assays exhibited comparatively higher AO potential of APO-NPs than APO alone. An in-vitro release profile displayed a linear diffusion pattern of zero order kinetics for APO from the NPs, followed by its cytotoxicity evaluation on the PC12 cell line, which revealed minimal toxicity with higher cell viability, even after treatment with a stress inducer (H2O2). The stability of APO-NPs after six months showed minimal AO decline in comparison to APO only, indicating that the designed nano-formulation enhanced therapeutic efficacy for modulating NOX-mediated ROS generation.  相似文献

We present simulation and experimental characterization of a hybrid amplifier comprising of a Raman amplifier and an erbium doped fiber (EDF) amplifier, with enhanced performance. The incorporation of a pumped EDF section in a fiber Raman amplifier (FRA) employing a dispersion compensating fiber is demonstrated to provide superior performance than a sole FRA system. The hybrid amplifier is characterized in terms of single channel gain and noise figure, and the results of measurements are shown to be in close agreement with the simulated results. Polarization-dependent gain (PDG) and multi-channel measured and simulated gain characterization of the Raman/EDFA hybrid amplifier are also presented.  相似文献

An electrochemical breast cancer biosensor based on a chitosan-co-polyaniline (CHIT-co-PANI) copolymer coated onto indium-tin-oxide (ITO) was fabricated by immobilizing the complementary DNA (cDNA) probe (42 bases long) associated with the breast cancer susceptible gene BRCA1. Both the CHIT-co-PANI/ITO and the cDNA/CHIT-co-PANI/ITO electrodes were characterized with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). For the cDNA/CHIT-co-PANI/ITO electrode, the amperometric current decreased linearly with an increasing logarithm of molar concentration of the single-stranded target DNA (ssDNA) within the range of 0.05-25 fmol. The bioelectrode exhibited a sensitivity of 2.104 μA/fmol with a response time of 16 s. The cDNA/CHIT-co-PANI/ITO electrode had a shelf life of about six months, even when stored at room temperature.  相似文献

The proposed L ‐histidine sensing system composed of a molecularly imprinted solid‐phase microextraction component combined with a molecularly imprinted polymer sensor was used to determine critical levels of test analyte in a complex matrix of highly diluted human blood serum without any non‐specific sorption and false‐positive contributions. The molecularly imprinted polymer was a zwitterionic polymer brush derived from the disodium salt of EDTA and chloranil, grafted to solid‐phase microextraction material. The hyphenated approach was able to detect L ‐histidine quantitatively with a limit of detection as low as 0.0435 ng/mL (RSD = 0.2%, S/N = 3).  相似文献

This paper describes an analytical calculation of break-out noise from a rectangular plenum with four flexible walls by incorporating three-dimensional effects along with the acoustical and structural wave coupling phenomena. The breakout noise from rectangular plenums is important and the coupling between acoustic waves within the plenum and structural waves in the flexible plenum walls plays a critical role in prediction of the transverse transmission loss. The first step in breakout noise prediction is to calculate the inside plenum pressure field and the normal flexible plenum wall vibration by using an impedance-mobility approach, which results in a compact matrix formulation. In the impedance-mobility compact matrix (IMCM) approach, it is presumed that the coupled response can be described in terms of finite sets of the uncoupled acoustic subsystem and the structural subsystem. The flexible walls of the plenum are modeled as an unfolded plate to calculate natural frequencies and mode shapes of the uncoupled structural subsystem. The second step is to calculate the radiated sound power from the flexible walls using Kirchhoff-Helmholtz (KH) integral formulation. Analytical results are validated with finite element and boundary element (FEM-BEM) numerical models.  相似文献

The present study describes the potential of the synchrotron radiation based X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy technique for the rapid, sensitive, user friendly and simultaneous monitoring of the changes in the elemental profile of the wheat seedlings stressed by excess manganese (Mn). For this, X-ray fluorescence spectra of the leaves of the control and Mn treated wheat seedlings have been recorded by synchrotron radiation X-ray of energy 15?keV. The analyses of the recorded spectra show the presence of elements chlorine, potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, copper, nickel, and zinc. A calibration-free approach, PyMca has been used for the quantitative estimation of the detected elements in the leaves of the control and Mn treated wheat seedlings. The excess supply of Mn to wheat seedlings results in the accumulation of manganese in the leaves of the seedlings. The accumulation of manganese in wheat seedlings negatively affects the uptake and translocation of calcium, potassium, and iron while it has stimulating effect on the uptake of copper and zinc.  相似文献

Polymer electrolyte has seen tremendous growth after works of Fenton & Armand, and energy devices are being produced at commercial level. Today’s social lifestyle needs miniaturized energy devices at every step of life; consequently, they add up to chemical garbage of the world. The sustainable development in the field needs eco-friendly energy devices. Hence, starch (being at low cost, abundant in nature and eco-friendly) has received great scientific attention. In recent past, many attempts have been made to modify the various starches to get fast ion-conducting materials. In our laboratory, also, wheat, potato, rice and arrowroot starches have been modified with different sodium salts, and in each case, considerably high-conducting (>10−3 S/cm) films have been found. In present case, also, a high-conducting transparent film (10−2 S/cm) is obtained with corn starch and NaClO4 salt after being crosslinked with glutaraldehyde (GA). Bode plots (both phase and magnitude), capacitive-response plot, capacitive-frequency plots and linear sweep voltammetry curves are analysed to explain the possibility of using the prepared electrolyte in capacitive device. The larger electrochemical stability window (ESW) ~ 2.4 V and smaller ion relaxation time ~ 65 μs make it a potential candidate for device fabrication. The equivalent series resistance is ~6.252 Ω for 0.8-mm-thick sample.

Strong blue-green light emitting Eu doped SrAl2O4 phosphor was synthesized by a low-temperature initiated, self-propagating and gas producing combustion process in a very short time (<5 min). The prepared powder was characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy. The excitation spectrum shows a peak at 397 nm. Upon excitation at 397 nm, the emission spectrum exhibits a well defined broad band with maximum at 493 nm corresponding to 4f65d  4f7 transition. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements at X-band showed low field signals due to Eu2+ ions in SrAl2O4:Eu.  相似文献

A significant enhancement in the number of cold atoms in an atomic-beam-loaded magneto-optical trap (MOT) for metastable krypton atoms is observed when hollow laser beams are used in a Zeeman slower instead of a Gaussian laser beam. In the Zeeman slower setup, a combination of two hollow laser beams, i.e., a variable-diameter hollow beam generated using a pair of axicon lenses superimposed on a fixed-diameter hollow beam, has been used to reduce the longitudinal velocity of the atoms in the atomic beam below the capture speed of the MOT. The observed enhancement in the number of atoms in the MOT is attributed to reduced destruction of the atom cloud in the MOT and increased cooling of the off-axis atoms in the atomic beam, resulting from the use of hollow beams in the Zeeman slower.  相似文献
