The history of high-performance computing in turbulent flows is reviewed and their recent topics in industrial use are addressed. Special attention is paid to the validity of the method in flow visualization, and three-dimensional unsteady simulation is focused. Seemingly fundamental CFD technique for 3-D turbulence simulation has been well developed recently, but its practical use as an industrial tool has not yet become popular. An effort to close a wide gap between fundamental and practical use of scientific computer simulation is introduced through the national project promoting computational science and its development in industries of the next generation. 相似文献

(N-Ethylcarbazol-3-yl)methyl acrylate and methacrylate were polymerized anionically and radically. Anionically-polymerized polyacrylate using ethylmagnesium chloride-benzalacetophenone as catalyst is an isotactic rich polymer with 85% isotactic dyad. All polymers except anionically polymerized polymethacrylate showed good film forming property. Hole drift mobilities measured by the time-of-flight method at room temperature and at 5 × 105 V/cm are in the following order: isotactic polyacrylate (1.0 × 10-5 cm2/V s) > atactic polyacrylate (1.8 × 10-6 cm2/V s) > atactic polymethacrylate (1.2 × 10-6 cm2/V s) at 5 × 105 V/cm. Poly(2,5-dimethoxy-1,4-phenylene) was prepared by oxidative polymerization of p-dimethoxybenzene with aluminum chloride and copper(II) chloride in nitrobenzene under reduced pressure. The polymers obtained were soluble in sulfuric acid and fusible at 320°C. The intrinsic viscosity of the polymer was ca. 0.07 in sulfuric acid. Transverse magnetoconductivity tensor components have been measured in dilute Bi:Sn and Bi:Te alloys up to magnetic field/temperature = 13T / 0.5 K and compared with those of high purity sample. As was expected, perfect phase inversion and enhancement of the quantum oscillation of the magnetoresistivity component were observed. It was also found that peaks of Hall resistivity tensor component due to the hole Fermi surface in the highest magnetic field region revealed dispersion-type line shape in Bi:Sn alloy in contrast to those in Bi:Te alloy or in pure Bi, which may be ascribed to the difference between the screening of anions and that of cations by electrons and holes in these semimetals. 相似文献

Heat capacity measurements have been made down to 5 mK for 3He fluid films adsorbed in one-dimensional (1D) nanometer-scale pores, 28 A in diameter, preplated with 4He of 1.47 atomic layers. At low 3He density, the heat capacity shows a density-dependent, Schottky-like peak near 150 mK asymptoting to the value corresponding to a 2D Boltzmann gas at high temperatures. The peak behavior is attributed to the crossover from a 2D gas to a 1D state at low temperatures. The degenerate state of the 1D 3He fluid is indicated by a predominantly linear temperature dependence below about 30 mK. 相似文献

Using hard x-ray (HX; hnu=5.95 keV) synchrotron photoemission spectroscopy (PES), we study the intrinsic electronic structure of La(1-x)Sr(x)MnO(3) (LSMO) thin films. Comparison of Mn 2p core-levels with soft x-ray (SX; hnu approximately 1000 eV) PES shows a clear additional well-screened feature only in HX PES. Takeoff-angle dependent data indicate its bulk (> or =20 A) character. The doping and temperature dependence track the ferromagnetism and metallicity of the LSMO series. Cluster model calculations including charge transfer from doping-induced states show good agreement, confirming this picture of bulk properties reflected in Mn 2p core-levels using HX PES. 相似文献
