Study of the heat capacity of Lu2Cu2O5 in the temperature range 366–992 K

Experimental data on the molar heat capacity of Lu₂Cu₂O₅ in the temperature range 366–992 K have been obtained. The experimental data have been used to calculate the thermodynamic properties of the oxide compound.     

Phase and extraction equilibria in water–polyethyleneglycol ethers of monoethanolamides of synthetic fatty acid–ammonium chloride systems

Phase equilibria in layering systems of water, polyethyleneglycol ethers of monoethanolamides of synthetic fatty acids (SFAs) (synthamide-5), and ammonium chloride are studied. The possibility of using such systems for the liquid extraction of metal ions is evaluated. The effect the nature of salting-out agents has on the processes of segregation of the systems has been considered.

Effect of the nature of mineral and organic components of oil shales belonging to various genetic types on the thermolysis of oil tar

Effect of mineral and organic components of oil shales on the cracking level, yield, composition, and quality of distillate and solid products obtained in thermochemical processing of a residual straight-run oil stock was studied.     

Efficiency of the production of γ families with halos and the fraction of protons at an energy of 10<Superscript>16</Superscript> eV

γ Families with halos detected in the “Pamir” experiment have been analyzed. Comparison of the experimental data with the results of calculation within the quark-gluon string model (MC0 code) made it possible to determine the efficiency of halo formation by protons, α particles, and heavy nuclei, as well as the fraction of protons in the mass composition of primary cosmic rays at an energy of 10¹⁶ eV. It is shown that halos are formed predominantly by protons. The fraction of protons in the mass composition of primary cosmic rays at an energy of 10¹⁶ eV is 20%.     

Solvability in weighted Hölder spaces for a problem governing the evolution of two compressible fluids

Local (in time) unique solvability of a problem on the motion of two compressible fluids, one of which has finite volume, is obtained in Hölder spaces of functions with a power-like decay at infinity. After passage to Lagrangian coordinates, we arrive at a nonlinear initial boundary value problem with a given closed interface between the liquids. We establish an existence theorem for this problem on the basis of the solvability of a linearized problem by means of the fixed-point theorem. To obtain estimates and to prove the solvability for the linearized problem, we use the Schauder method and an explicit solution of a model linear problem with a plane interface between the liquids. The results are obtained under some restrictions on the fluid density and viscosities, which mean that the fluids are not much different from each other. Verifiable post-Maxwellian effect of the nonlinear electrodynamics in vacuum

The lasing frequencies of a ring laser with counterpropagating electromagnetic waves are calculated for the case when a part of the laser circuit is subjected to a constant electromagnetic field. It is demonstrated that, according to equations of the parametrized post-Maxwellian electrodynamics of vacuum, two waves with different planes of polarization and frequencies should propagate in each direction of the ring laser. The analysis has shown that, with the help of advanced ring lasers and external electromagnetic fields attainable in the laboratory, the post-Maxwellian parameters can be measured with a precision that would be sufficient to verify the most popular theoretical models of the nonlinear electrodynamics of vacuum.     

Global solvability of the problem on the motion of two fluids without surface tension

Unsteady motion of viscous incompressible fluids is considered in a bounded domain. The liquids are separated by an unknown interface on which the surface tension is neglected. This motion is governed by an interface problem for the Navier-Stokes system. First, a local existence theorem is established for the problem in Hölder classes of functions. The proof is based on the solvability of a model problem for the Stokes system with a plane interface, which was obtained earlier. Next, for a small initial velocity vector field and small mass forces, we prove the existence of a unique smooth solution to the problem on an infinite time interval. Bibliography: 7 titles.
