We have developed a new chemosensor system for cyanide ion that is based on a photochromic material. We observed that addition of cyanide anion to a UV irradiated solution of a phenoxynaphthacenequinone derivative brought about a significant change in the absorption spectra that enabled detection of cyanide ion in a selective and sensitive manner. A carbanion intermediate was shown to be responsible for the long wavelength absorption band (630-940 nm) that is generated by cyanide addition. 相似文献

Tyrosinase was found to catalyze the oxidation of phenylhydrazine to phenol in a reaction that did not resemble those typically performed by tyrosinase. The kinetics of this reaction was investigated by measuring the initial velocity of the formation of phenol (25 °C). The values of k cat and K M for the oxidation of phenylhydrazine were obtained as 11.0 s?1 and 0.30 mM, respectively. The generation of superoxides during the oxidation of phenylhydrazine by tyrosinase was monitored by nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) assay. In the phenylhydrazine-tyrosinase reaction, 1 mol O2 was required for the production of 1 mol phenol and 1/6 mol superoxide. The decomposition of superoxide by superoxide dismutase enhanced the rate constant of the oxidation of phenylhydrazine. Phenol formed in the oxidation of phenylhydrazine by tyrosinase was further oxidized by tyrosinase to an o-quinone, after the oxidation of phenylhydrazine by tyrosinase was almost completed. 相似文献

The mechanical reliability of transparent In-Zn-Sn-O (IZTO) films grown using pulsed DC magnetron sputtering with a single oxide alloyed ceramic target on a transparent polyimide (PI) substrate at room temperature is investigated. All IZTO films deposited at room temperature have an amorphous structure. However, their optical and electrical properties change depending on the oxygen partial pressure applied during depositing process. At an oxygen partial pressure of 3%, the films exhibit a resistivity of 8.3 × 10−4 Ω cm and an optical transmittance of 86%. Outer bending tests show that the critical bending radius decreases from 10 mm to 7.5 mm when the oxygen partial pressure increases from 1% to 3%. In the inner bending test, the critical bending radius is independent of oxygen partial pressure at 3.5 mm, indicating excellent film flexibility. In the dynamic fatigue test, the electrical resistance of the films reduces by less than 1% for more than 2000 bending cycles. These results suggest that IZTO films have excellent mechanical durability and flexibility in comparison to ITO films. 相似文献

Mitochondria are crucial for maintaining the properties of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and for regulating their subsequent differentiation into diverse cell lineages, including cardiomyocytes. However, mitochondrial regulators that manage the rate of differentiation or cell fate have been rarely identified. This study aimed to determine the potential mitochondrial factor that controls the differentiation of ESCs into cardiac myocytes. We induced cardiomyocyte differentiation from mouse ESCs (mESCs) and performed microarray assays to assess messenger RNA (mRNA) expression changes at differentiation day 8 (D8) compared with undifferentiated mESCs (D0). Among the differentially expressed genes, Pdp1 expression was significantly decreased (27-fold) on D8 compared to D0, which was accompanied by suppressed mitochondrial indices, including ATP levels, membrane potential, ROS and mitochondrial Ca2+. Notably, Pdp1 overexpression significantly enhanced the mitochondrial indices and pyruvate dehydrogenase activity and reduced the expression of cardiac differentiation marker mRNA and the cardiac differentiation rate compared to a mock control. In confirmation of this, a knockdown of the Pdp1 gene promoted the expression of cardiac differentiation marker mRNA and the cardiac differentiation rate. In conclusion, our results suggest that mitochondrial PDP1 is a potential regulator that controls cardiac differentiation at an early differentiation stage in ESCs. 相似文献

A series of inorganic–organic hybrid block copolymers were synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization using a fully condensed, ladder‐like structured polyphenylsilsesquioxane end‐functionalized macroinitiator. The inorganic portion, ladder‐like polyphenylsilsesquioxane, was synthesized in a one‐batch, base‐catalyzed system, whereas organic hard and soft monomers, styrene, and n‐butyl acrylate, were polymerized and copolymerized on the ends of the linear, inorganic backbone. Synthesized hybrid diblock, triblock, and random copolymers were characterized by 1H NMR, 29Si NMR, gel permeation chromatography, static light scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry. Hybrid block copolymers were well‐defined with low polydispersity (<1.4) and exhibited enhanced thermal properties in the form of increased glass transition and degradation onset temperatures over their organic analogues.© 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
