Equations illustrating the application of dipole sum rules by relating the reaction strengths from single-particle transfer
(stripping as well as pick up reactions) to the magnetic dipole moment of the target state (derived earlier) have been rewritten
in a more symmetrical and user friendly form. The purpose of the present work is not to calculate the magnetic moment but
to provide six different ways --from stripping and pick up reactions as well as from their combination, to study the discrepancies
in the measurement of reaction strengths through their relationships with the magnetic moment.

Polymer structure and conformational dynamics are essential to polymer macroscopic properties, but are challenging to probe. We report here a synthetic pathway to chemically add a nitroxide moiety onto block polymers in a mild, aqueous environment and demonstrate its use in a series of polymeric micelles using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. The micelles were characterized with several analytical approaches and EPR findings were in general consistent with other approaches. Upon exposure to organic solvents, the line shape changes reflected the micelle swelling and EPR spectral simulations revealed structural information of the swelled micelles. The label introduced via our method can be cleaved and replaced with other probes to report different information site‐specifically. The mild conditions facilitate the future use of EPR in solving biopolymer problems. In combination with other labeling approaches, one can perform polymer spin labeling with different chemistry, so that various information about polymers can be obtained site‐specifically. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The photoreactions of recombinant phytochrome CphA from cyanobacterium Calothrix sp. PCC7601 reconstituted with phycocyanobilin were investigated using UV–Vis and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) difference spectroscopy, stabilizing intermediates at low temperature. The yield of the forward reaction strongly depends on temperature, unlike the backward reaction. Because of the very fast thermal relaxation processes in the Pr to Pfr pathway, no pure difference spectra of the Pr photoconversion products could be directly measured. Thus, the contribution of the Pfr:Pr pathway was taken into account by applying an appropriate correction procedure both in the UV–Vis and FTIR experiments. Three intermediates have been trapped at −25, −45 and −120°C, which show the characteristic vibrational band pattern of the plant phytochrome phyA intermediates meta-Rc, meta-Ra and lumi-R, respectively. In the backward reaction, two intermediates corresponding to meta-F and lumi-F were trapped at −70 and −140°C, respectively. FTIR spectra of all intermediates, as well as of the Pfr state, show remarkable similarities with the corresponding spectra of Cph1 phytochrome from cyanobacterium Synechocystis and the 59 kDa N-terminal fragment of Cph1, and, albeit not so pronounced, also with plant phyA. The spectral similarities and differences between the various phytochromes are discussed in terms of structural changes of the chromophore and the chromophore–protein interactions. 相似文献

Summary Complexes of 3-methyl- or 3-ethyl-4-amino-5-thiolato-1,2,4-triazole (LH) and its Schiff base derivatives with oxovanadium(IV), of the types [VOL2(H2O)], [VOL2-(H2O)] and [VOL(H2O)2] (where LH = Schiff bases derived from condensation of LH with benzaldehyde, 2-chlorobenzaldehyde, 4-methoxybenzaldehyde or acetophenone; LH2 = Schiff bases derived from condensation of LH with salicylaldehyde or o-hydroxyacetophenone) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic moments and spectral data. The thermal behaviour of selected complexes was investigated by t.g., d.t.g. and d.s.c. techniques.
