The temperature dependence of the deformation strength of solid Cu-Al solutions

The temperature dependence of the deformation strength, of the parameters ₀ and K of Pötsch's equation, and of the discontinuous deformation in solid Cu-Al solutions of various concentrations have been studied. It was shown that the temperature dependence of and ₀ changes substantially when the alloy concentration is increased (under otherwise equal conditions). The nature of the processes which lead to the disappearance of the deformation discontinuity and to a sharp high-temperature recrystallization by process annealing is discussed.     

Heterogeneous-Catalytic Dimerization of Methanol

Oxide systems supported by -Al₂O₃ and MgO were studied in oxidative dimerization of methanol. The highest selectivity is exhibited by tin oxide promoted with Na₂O and La₂O₃ supported by magnesium oxide. Reactions of partial oxidation and etherification of methanol and ethylene glycol proceed on this system to the same extent as dimerization of methanol to ethylene glycol.     

Production of a highly dispersed carbon material and hydrogen from natural gas in a microwave reactor with metallic catalysts

Effect of a microwave field on metallic catalysts was studied in the reaction of decomposition of methane into hydrogen and highly dispersed carbon. The dependence of the conversion of methane, yield of carbon, and its composition on the chemical nature of a catalysts and reaction conditions was examined.     

Non-Faraday rotation of the photon echo polarization vector under variation in the interval between exciting pulses and its application to range finding

Formation modes are investigated and detection accuracy is evaluated for the non-Faraday rotation of the polarization vector of the photon echo in a gas. Possible applications of this effect for construction of optical measuring systems are discussed.     

Crystallization study of amorphous system Fe84−x W x B16 (x=3; 5)

A complex study of the crystallization process of the amorphous system was carried out by Mössbauer spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and DTA. Alloy samples crystallized at 600 °C contain the following phases: α-Fe, Fe₃B and solid solution (Fe, W)₃B.
