Two novel organic-inorganic hybrid tungsto- and molybdo-telurates having formula [{Na(4)(H(2)O)(14)}{Cu(gly)}(2)][TeMo(6)O(24)] (1){gly = glycine} and [{Cu(en)(2)}(3){TeW(6)O(24)}]·6H(2)O {en = ethyline-diamine} (2) based on Anderson type heteropolyoxometalates (POMs) have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Common structural feature of both 1 and 2 is the presence of a unique 1D open rack-like architecture, where the disc shaped Anderson POMs act as steps and cationic Cu-organic complexes act as handles of the rack. In 1 the independent structural unit is a 1D coordination polymer with the above mentioned rack type architecture, while in 2, these independent rack-like architectures are further extended to a 2D coordination polymer. Heterogeneous catalysis for the epoxidation of cyclohexene and styrene by complexes 1 and 2 showed very good catalytic efficiency resulting epoxides of ~60% yield, with dialcohol formed by the hydrolysis of epoxides, as the other major product (~28%). Cyclic voltammetric studies of [{Na(4)(H(2)O)(14)}{Cu(gly)}(2)][TeMo(6)O(24)] (1) in aqueous KCl solution indicates that the redox changes occur only on the copper centers and supported by carrying out parallel experiments on the precursors like ([Cu(gly)(2)](2+) and [TeMo(6)O(24)](6-), under the identical experimental conditions. The E(1/2) = 0.662, -0.142 and -0.332 V(vs. SCE) correspond to Cu(III) → Cu(II), Cu(II) → Cu(I) and Cu(I) → Cu(0) reductions, respectively. Thermal analyses reveal identical phase transition reactions with an exothermic peak in the DTA curve at 380 °C for 1 and an endothermic peak appears at comparatively higher temperature (408 °C) for 2 manifesting the higher stability of tungstane based POM over the molybdenum ones. EPR as well as magnetic moment results indicate that both the complexes 1 and 2 are paramagnetic with one unpaired electron per copper(II) ion. 相似文献

A new approach to carbasugars in enantiomerically pure form is reported. The key step involves ring-closing metathesis of dienols 6 derived from a (R)-(+)-glyceraldehyde derivative 4 to form the substituted cyclopentenol 9 and cyclohexenol 34a. Stereocontrolled addition of hydroxyl groups followed by conversion of the ketal unit to hydroxymethyl group in these intermediates led to carbapentoses and -hexoses. Stereoselectivity during introduction of hydroxyl groups arises through the steric hindrance posed by the allylic substituents. A remarkable feature of the present approach is the accessibility of both d- and l-series of carbapentoses as illustrated by the synthesis of beta-D- and beta-L-carbaribofuranoses 17 and 20, respectively. Carba-alpha-D-ribofuranose 25, the biosynthetic intermediate to the antibiotic aristeromycin, has also been synthesized from the same cyclopentenol 9. Functional group manipulation in the cyclopentenol 9a also enabled access to carbaarabinofuranose 32. The present synthetic strategy can be extended for the synthesis of carbahexopyranose, as illustrated by the synthesis of carba-alpha-L-gulopyranose 40b. 相似文献

A unique phenomenon, ion-enrichment and ion-depletion effect, exists in nanofluidic channels and is observed in amorphous silicon (α-Si) nanochannels as shallow as 50 nm. As a voltage is applied across a nanochannel, ions are rapidly enriched at one end and depleted at the other end of the nanochannel. α-Si is deposited on glass by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition and is selectively etched to form nanochannels. The depth of nanochannels is defined by the thickness of the α-Si layer. Low temperature anodic bonding of α-Si to glass was used to seal the channel with a second glass wafer. The strength of the anodic bond was optimized by the introduction of a silicon nitride adhesion promoting layer and double-sided bonding resulting from the electric field reversal. Completed channels, 50 nm in depth, 5 micron wide, and 1 mm long were completely and reliably sealed. Structures based on nanochannels 50-300 nm deep were successfully incorporated into nanofluidic devices to investigate ionic accumulation and depletion effect due to overlapping of electric double layer. 相似文献

We consider the evaporation of (4+n)-dimensional non-rotating black holes into gravitons. We calculate the energy emission rate for gravitons in the bulk obtaining analytical solutions of the master equation satisfied by all three types (S, V, T) of gravitational perturbations. Our results, valid in the low-energy regime, show a vector radiation dominance for every value of n. The calculated low-energy emission rate, for all types of degrees of freedom, is found to decrease with the number of extra dimensions n, as in the previously studied case of a bulk scalar field. By comparing the emission rates in the bulk for scalars and gravitons, we find that the one for gravitons remains well below that for a scalar field in the low-energy regime. 相似文献

Human placental ribonuclease inhibitor (hRI) containing six tryptophan (Trp) residues located at positions 19, 261, 263, 318, 375, and 438 and its complex with RNase A have been studied using steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence (298 K) as well as low-temperature phosphorescence (77 K). Two Trp residues in wild-type hRI and also in the protein-protein complex with RNase A are resolved optically. The accessible surface area values of Trp residues in the wild-type hRI and its complex and consideration of inter-Trp energy transfer in the wild-type hRI reveal that one of the Trp residues is Trp19, which is located in a hydrophobic buried region. The other Trp residue is tentatively assigned as Trp375 based on experimental results on wild-type hRI and its complex. This residue in the wild-type hRI is more or less solvent exposed. Both the Trp residues are perturbed slightly on complex formation. Trp19 moves slightly toward a more hydrophobic region, and the environment of Trp375 becomes less solvent exposed. The complex formation also results in a more heterogeneous environment for both the optically resolved Trp residues. 相似文献

The need for effective simulation methods for directional distributions has grown as they have become components in more sophisticated statistical models. A new acceptance–rejection method is proposed and investigated for the Bingham distribution on the sphere using the angular central Gaussian distribution as an envelope. It is shown that the proposed method has high efficiency and is also straightforward to use. Next, the simulation method is extended to the Fisher and Fisher–Bingham distributions on spheres and related manifolds. Together, these results provide a widely applicable and efficient methodology to simulate many of the standard models in directional data analysis. Photovoltaics is the most promising technology for the future of green energy production. To fully realize the potential use of photovoltaic technology, low manufacturing cost and high working photoconversion efficiency must be obtained. Light trapping by metal nanoparticles is an attractive strategy in thin film as well as in bulk silicon solar cells aimed to confine light within the active layer to promote the photon absorption and therefore achieving higher efficiency. In this paper, we tested the deposition of silver and gold nanoparticles on bulk silicon solar cells by colloidal technique in order to enhance their photovoltaic conversion efficiency by means of Plasmonic Light Scattering by metal nanoparticles. The feasible Plasmonic Light Scattering related enhancement was examined using spectral response and I–V measurements. Relative increases of the total delivered power under simulated solar irradiation were observed for cells both with and without antireflection coating using silver and gold nanoparticles. 相似文献

Theoretical insights have been provided for the observed preference of cyclodimerization over intramolecular cyclization reactions in linear tripeptides containing “2,5‐cis” (2S,5R)‐tetrahydrofuran amino acid as well as in those containing “2,5‐trans” (2S,5S)‐tetrahydrofuran amino acid, using quantum chemical methods. The geometries of species involved as well as the feasibility of cyclization reactions are studied at the B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) level of theory in gas phase as well as in solvent phase. Thermodynamic data from Hessian calculations favor the intermolecular cyclization. Analysis of optimized geometries reveals the existence of additional stabilizing hydrogen bonding interactions in intermolecularly cyclized products. The existence of these second‐order interactions is substantiated by topological (atoms in molecules (AIM)) and natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses. Such interactions are absent in the intramolecular cyclization products. Further justification for the presence of stabilizing interactions in intermolecularly cyclized products comes from the molecular electrostatic potentials and electron density surfaces. Kinetic control favoring the intermolecularly cyclized products due to additional entropy of activation in the intramolecular case is surmised. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
