The thermochromic behavior of poly(di‐n‐octylsilane) {[Si(C8H17)2]n; PDOS} was studied by ultraviolet (UV) absorption, differential scanning calorimetry, and X‐ray diffraction measurements. The structure of PDOS in the low‐temperature phase strongly depended on not only the temperature but also the rate of cooling, that is, the thermal history. Temperature‐dependent UV absorption spectra were highly dependent on thermal hysteresis. Cooled rapidly (10 K/min), PDOS showed two absorption peaks at 3.32 and 3.51 eV in low‐temperature‐ordered phases, whereas a single absorption peak at 3.32 eV became predominant with slow cooling (0.3 K/min). The appearance of the two peaks at low temperatures suggested that a mixture of different conformations was introduced by rapid cooling. A fiber diffraction pattern measured at 240 K after rapid cooling also showed evidence of the existence of novel conformation. A temperature‐dependent powder X‐ray diffraction pattern changed significantly between 270 and 280 K. Rapid cooling reduced the intensity of the X‐ray diffraction peak in this temperature region. Nucleic acid constituents such as nucleobases, nucleosides and nucleotides were separated by counter-current chromatography using type J coil planet centrifuge. The separation was performed with a hydrophilic solvent system composed of 1-propanol/800 mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) (1:1, v/v) by eluting the lower aqueous phase at a flow-rate of 0.5 ml/min. This work presents a flow analysis method for direct quantitation of calcium carbonate in cement without pretreatment of the sample. The method is based on online vaporization of CO2 gas following acidification of the sample inside a small chamber that has a flow of acceptor solution passing around it. Solubilization of the CO2 gas into the acceptor stream changes the conductivity of the acceptor solution causing an increase of signal at the capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection (C4D) placed at the outlet of the vaporization chamber. This chamber is an adaption from previous work reported on ‘membraneless vaporization’ (MBL-VP).The method can be used in the quality control of production of mixed cement. These cement materials usually have calcium carbonate contents at high concentration range (e.g., 33-99% (w/w) CaCO3). Analysis of samples by this method is direct and convenient as it requires no sample pretreatment. The method is low-cost with satisfactory accuracy and acceptable precision. 相似文献
