Matching the impedance of a medium to free space, which is usually not available in natural materials, is an important advance in metamaterials. In this paper, we present a simple mechanism for a perfect impedance-matched left-handed metamaterials, that reveals a nearly zero reflection over operating frequency. This finding is based on the independent manipulation of the electric response without any effect on the magnetic one.  相似文献

Laser drilling of stainless steel with nanosecond double-pulse   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Nanosecond double-pulse laser drilling is reported in this paper. The double-pulse herein represents two closely conjoint pulses with 21 ns pulse duration and about 52 ns interpulse separation, which are acquired by temporal pulse shaping. Percussion drilling with such double-pulse is performed in stainless steel samples with different laser fluences, sample's thickness, repetition rates and ambient pressures. The experimental results show that the drilling rates of double-pulse drilling are more than one order of magnitude higher than that of conventional single-pulse drilling in air. Differences in the processing results between single-pulse and double-pulse with various processing parameters are investigated. In addition the ablation mechanisms of the double-pulse drilling are discussed.  相似文献

The effects of external stress cooperated with temperature, measuring frequency and measuring electric field on the fatigue properties of Bi3.25La0.75Ti3O12 thin films are investigated. The fatigue properties can be improved by the external stress (both tensile and compressive). The larger the stress is, the more obvious the improvement is. Meanwhile, the stress-induced improvement is more distinct in the films annealed at a higher temperature. In addition, when measured at a higher frequency or at a larger electric field, the films show better fatigue properties, and the improvement caused by stress is more evident. The experimental results can be explained well by the mechanism in which the charged defects pin the domain walls during electric cycling.  相似文献

The microstructure, hardness and corrosion resistance of commercially pure Ti treated by low energy high current pulsed electron beam (LEHCPEB) have been investigated. The thin near-surface melted layer rapidly solidified into β and subsequently transformed into ultrafine α′ martensite. This has led to a drastic improvement of the corrosion properties and a significant increase (more than 60%) in hardness of the top surface.  相似文献

Laser ablation in the liquid technique has been used to synthesize cation-exchanged laponite suspensions. In summary, laser ablation of the microsize-metal powder (Co, Al, and Cu) dispersed in an aqueous solution containing deionized water laponite crystals was carried out using laser beam generated by a single-mode, Q-switched Nd-Yag laser operating at 532 nm with a pulse duration of 5.5 ns and 10 Hz repetition rate. Laser fluence was 0.265 J/cm2 for all tests. For all samples, the mass fraction of laponite was 1%. General observations of the prepared samples indicated that an aqueous suspension of 1 wt% laponite retained its free flowing liquid phase characteristics even after aging for several weeks. When bivalent cationic metals (Cu, Co, Al) were ablated in it for about 1 h, even with a small amount of the metal (0.025% and 0.050%) were generated, the suspension became highly viscous and behaved as a shear-thinning and thixotropic material. That is, the suspension gelled strongly when it was allowed to rest. The gels, however, could easily be reverted to a low viscosity liquid with simple shaking. Information from TEM and XRD analysis indicated that such a sol-gel transformation might be due to the charge exchange between the cationic species produced during the laser ablation and the sodium ions in the interlayers of the clay sheets.  相似文献

Pheophorbide a (Pa) from Chinese herbal medicine Scutellaria Barbata and Silkworm excreta has been proved to be potential photosensitizer. The present study investigated the cytotoxicity of ovarian cancer cells induced by LED-activated Pa using light microscopy with the SRB staining. We further investigated the apoptosis of the cells 6 h after LED-activated Pa using of the flow cytometer with PI staining and nuclear staining. The results showed that LED-activated Pa remarkably caused cell death of ovarian cancer cells. The condensation of chromatin, nuclear fragmentations, and 12.3% of cells containing subdiploid levels of DNA were found in the ovarian cancer cells after the treatment of LED-activated Pa. These data demonstrated that LED-activated Pa could cause significant cytotoxicity and apoptosis of ovarian cancer cells.  相似文献

Experiments are carried out on partially premixed turbulent flames stabilized in a conical burner. The investigated gaseous fuels are methane, methane diluted with nitrogen, and mixtures of CH4, CO, CO2, H2 and N2, simulating typical products from gasification of biomass, and co-firing of gasification gas with methane. The fuel and air are partially premixed in concentric tubes. Flame stabilization behavior is investigated and significantly different stabilization characteristics are observed in flames with and without the cone. Planar laser induced fluorescence (LIF) imaging of a fuel-tracer species, acetone, and OH radicals is carried out to characterize the flame structures. Large eddy simulations of the conical flames are carried out to gain further understanding of the flame/flow interaction in the cone. The data show that the flames with the cone are more stable than those without the cone. Without the cone (i.e. jet burner) the critical jet velocities for blowoff and liftoff of biomass derived gases are higher than that for methane/nitrogen mixture with the same heating values, indicating the enhanced flame stabilization by hydrogen in the mixture. With the cone the stability of flames is not sensitive to the compositions of the fuels, owing to the different flame stabilization mechanism in the conical flames than that in the jet flames. From the PLIF images it is shown that in the conical burner, the flame is stabilized by the cone at nearly the same position for different fuels. From large eddy simulations, the flames are shown to be controlled by the recirculation flows inside cone, which depends on the cone angle, but less sensitive to the fuel compositions and flow speed. The flames tend to be hold in the recirculation zones even at very high flow speed. Flame blowoff occurs when significant local extinction in the main body of the flame appears at high turbulence intensities.  相似文献

We investigate the electronic transport for an impurity-doped armchair-edge graphene nanoribbon (AGNR), with 7 or 8 dimer lines along zigzag direction, sandwiched between two normal leads. By using the standard nonequilibrium Green’s function technique, it is demonstrated that, the impurity influence on the transport properties for system with semiconducting 7-AGNR system is more sensitive than that for one with metallic 8-AGNR system in the vicinity of the impurity energy level. In particular, in the absence of impurity the density of states (DOS) and linear conductance G possess a small zero value interval for 7-AGNR system and a large nonzero plateau for 8-AGNR one, respectively. Interestingly, as impurity included the DOS and G show a single sharp resonant peak around the impurity energy level for 7-AGNR system due to resonant tunneling, while a small dip appears in the same position for 8-AGNR system due to the antiresonance states. Moreover, we have also inspected the behavior of the differential conductance upon varying the impurity concentration for the systems. The findings here may suggest it is more favorable to fabricate an electric switch with high on-off ratio by using an impurity-assisted semiconducting AGNR.  相似文献

Using first-principles density functional theory within the generalized gradient approximation method, the effect of Zn doping on electronic and magnetic properties of NiFe2O4 ferrite spinel has been studied. The crystal structure of the compounds is assigned to a pseudocubic structure and the lattice constant increases as the Zn concentration increases. Our spin-polarized calculations give a half-metallic state for NiFe2O4 and a normal metal state for ZnxNi1−xFe2O4 (0<x≤0.5). Based on the magnetic properties calculations, it is found that the saturation magnetic moment enhances linearly with increase in the Zn content in NiFe2O4. The Zn doping in NiFe2O4 also induces strong ferrimagnetism since it decreases the magnetic moment of A-sites.  相似文献
