Double Suzuki cross‐coupling reaction of pyrimidine boronic acid: synthesis of new versatile dielectrophile

The double Suzuki cross‐coupling reaction has successfully been applied for the synthesis of 5,5′‐(5‐butoxy‐1,3‐phenylene)bis(2‐chloropyrimidine) with two reactive chloro groups and an alkoxy side chain starting from 2‐chloropyrimidin‐5‐ylboronic acid and 1,3‐dibromo‐5‐butoxybenzene. The reactivity of this dielectrophile was tested by reaction with aniline and phenol, a nitrogen and oxygen nucleophile, respectively. The new dielectrophile would further provide an ideal platform for the construction of large hetero‐atom bridged macrocycles for desired properties and functions in supramolecular and material chemistry. Spectroscopic and morphological study of laser ablated Titanium

The optical characteristics of biological tissues sampled from the anterior abdominal wall of laboratory rats are for the first time experimentally studied in a wide wavelength range (350-2500 nm). The experiments have been performed in vitro using a LAMBDA 950 (PerkinElmer, United States) spectrophotometer. Inverse Monte Carlo simulation is used to restore the spectral dependences for scattering and absorption coefficients, as well as the scattering anisotropy factor for biological tissue based on the recorded spectra of diffuse reflection and total and collimated transmissions.

Space-Time Dynamics of?Gazeau-Klauder Coherent States in?Power-Law Potentials

Gazeau-Klauder coherent states are developed for power-law potentials and their evolution in space and time is analyzed. We show that these states follow classical dynamics as long as the underlying energy spectrum is linear, otherwise they follow a classical-like evolution upto a few classical periods and disperse thereafter, despite its special construction. Auto-correlation function and probability density as a function of space and time explain the spatio-temporal behavior of these states.     

Organotin(IV) Complexes of 2-[(2′,4′,6′- Trichlorophenylamido)]benzoic Acid: Synthesis,Coordination Chemistry,and Semi-Empirical Study

A new series of organotin(IV) complexes of aniline derivatives, R₂SnL₂ and R₃SnL [where R = Me, n-Bu, n-Oct, and Ph], have been synthesized by the reaction of ligand acid with respective organotin halides in the presence of triethylamine as base or dioctyltin oxide using a Dean–Stark trap for the removal of water under reflux conditions. Experimental details for the preparation and characterization, including elemental analysis, IR, semi-empirical study, multinuclear NMR (¹H, ¹³C, and ¹¹⁹Sn spectra and EI mass spectral studies) of all reported complexes are provided. The IR data indicate that in both di- and triorganotin(IV) carboxylates, the ligand moiety ?COO acts as a bidentate group in the solid state. Multinuclear NMR data show that triorganotin complexes exhibits a four-coordinated geometry, while diorganotin(IV) complexes show a coordination number greater than four, probably five or six, in solution state.

Impact of Various Parameters Over the Stability of Water-in-Vegetable Oil Emulsion

Theory regarding emulsification, its coalescence and impact of emulsifier over its stability has been updated. For the verification of the proposed theory, water-in-oil emulsion was prepared by mixing water and soybean oil in the presence and absence of emulsifier, monoglyceride. The effect of different parameters like emulsification time, contents of water, and concentration of emulsifier has been investigated on the emulsification and coalescence process of the emulsion. It was noted that the emulsion quality was highest if the mixture was homogenized for about 15 minutes and the water contents were 40% v/v. The addition of monoglyceride up to 0.5% w/v gave the most stable emulsion having higher quality than other composition. The results obtained were compared with the proposed theory and found to have good compositions.

Synthesis, characterization, and biological activities of homo- and heterobimetallic complexes of Sn(IV) and Pd(II) with 2-mercapto-5-methyl benzimidazole

Organotin complexes have been synthesized by refluxing 2-mercapto-5-methyl benzimidazole with R₂SnCl₂/R₃SnCl (R = Me, n-Bu, Ph) in 1:1 molar ratio in the first step. In the second step, synthesized organotin(IV) complexes were treated with CS₂ and R₂SnCl₂/R₃SnCl/PdCl₂ to yield homo- and heterobimetallic complexes. The composition of the synthesized complexes, the bonding behavior of the donor groups, and structural assignments were studied by elemental analysis and different spectral techniques, including IR and multinuclear NMR (¹H, ¹³C). The IR data shows bidentate nature of the ligand which is also confirmed by semiempirical study, while NMR data confirms the four-coordinated geometry in solution. The free ligand and its respective homo- and heterobimetallic complexes were screened in vitro against a number of microorganisms to assess their biocidal properties. The biological activity data show that complexes exhibits significant antibacterial and antifungal activities as compared to ligand with few exceptions.
