Time-dependent configuration interaction (TD-CI) simulations can be used to simulate molecules in intense laser fields. TD-CI calculations use the excitation energies and transition dipoles calculated in the absence of a field. The EOM-CCSD method provides a good estimate of the field-free excited states but is rather expensive. Linear-response time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) is an inexpensive alternative for computing the field-free excitation energies and transition dipoles needed for TD-CI simulations. Linear-response TD-DFT calculations were carried out with standard functionals (B3LYP, BH&HLYP, HSE2PBE (HSE03), BLYP, PBE, PW91, and TPSS) and long-range corrected functionals (LC-ωPBE, ωB97XD, CAM-B3LYP, LC-BLYP, LC-PBE, LC-PW91, and LC-TPSS). These calculations used the 6-31G(d,p) basis set augmented with three sets of diffuse sp functions on each heavy atom. Butadiene was employed as a test case, and 500 excited states were calculated with each functional. Standard functionals yield average excitation energies that are significantly lower than the EOM-CC, while long-range corrected functionals tend to produce average excitation energies slightly higher. Long-range corrected functionals also yield transition dipoles that are somewhat larger than EOM-CC on average. The TD-CI simulations were carried out with a three-cycle Gaussian pulse (ω = 0.06 au, 760 nm) with intensities up to 1.26 × 10(14) W cm(-2) directed along the vector connecting the end carbons. The nonlinear response as indicated by the residual populations of the excited states after the pulse is far too large with standard functionals, primarily because the excitation energies are too low. The LC-ωPBE, LC-PBE, LC-PW91, and LC-TPSS long-range corrected functionals produce responses comparable to EOM-CC. 相似文献

Cannon and Jensen assert that data from different national time laboratories give a test of the interaction interpretation of special relativity theory. That interpretation is to be applied, however, to clocks in relative uniform motion, and therefore is not tested by the time-rate effects associated with different terrestrial locations of clocks. Those effects are described by the general theory of relativity, and arise with differences in gravitational potential and state of circular motion of the clocks. Tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum(III), AlQ3, is used in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) as an electron-transport material and emitting layer. The reaction of AlQ3 with trace H2O has been implicated as a major failure pathway for AlQ3-based OLEDs. Hybrid density functional calculations have been carried out to characterize the hydrolysis of AlQ3. The thermochemical and atomistic details for this important reaction are reported for both the neutral and oxidized AlQ3/AlQ3+ systems. In support of experimental conclusions, the neutral hydrolysis reaction pathway is found to be a thermally activated process, having a classical barrier height of 24.2 kcal mol(-1). First-principles infrared and electronic absorption spectra are compared to further characterize AlQ3 and the hydrolysis pathway product, AlQ2OH. The activation energy for the cationic AlQ3 hydrolysis pathway is found to be 8.5 kcal mol(-1) lower than for the neutral reaction, which is significant since it suggests a role for charge imbalance in promoting chemical failure modes in OLED devices. 相似文献

In the factorized picture of semi-inclusive hadronic processes the naive time-reversal odd parton distributions exist by virtue of the gauge link which renders it color gauge invariant. The link characterizes the dynamical effect of initial/final-state interactions of the active parton due soft gluon exchanges with the target remnant. Though these interactions are non-perturbative, studies of final-state interaction have been approximated by perturbative one-gluon approximation in Abelian models. We include higher-order gluonic contributions from the gauge link by applying non-perturbative eikonal methods incorporating color degrees of freedom in a calculation of the Boer–Mulders function of the pion. Using this framework we explore under what conditions the Boer–Mulders function can be described in terms of factorization of final state interactions and a spatial distribution in impact parameter space. 相似文献

We report on first measurements of the transverse characteristics of laser-produced energetic ion beams in direct comparison to results for laser accelerated proton beams. The experiments show the same low emittance for ion beams as already found for protons. Additionally, we demonstrate that the divergence is influenced by the charge over mass ratio of the accelerated species. A highly asymmetric Ni(II) cluster [Ni(4)(OH)(OMe)(3)(Hphpz)(4)(MeOH)(3)](MeOH) (1) (H(2)phpz=3-methyl-5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)pyrazole) has been prepared and its structure determined by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction by using synchrotron radiation. Variable-temperature bulk-magnetization measurements show that the complex exhibits intramolecular-ferromagnetic interactions leading to a spin ground state S=4 with close-lying excited states. Magnetization and high-frequency EPR measurements suggest the presence of sizable Ising-type magnetic anisotropy, with zero-field splitting parameters D=-0.263 cm(-1) and E=0.04 cm(-1) for the spin ground state, and an isotropic g value of 2.25. The presence of both axial and transverse anisotropy was confirmed through low-temperature specific heat determinations down to 300 mK, but no slow relaxation of the magnetization was observed by AC measurements down to 1.8 K. Interestingly, AC susceptibility measurements down to temperatures as low as 23 mK showed no indication of slow relaxation of the magnetization in 1. Thus, despite the presence of an anisotropy barrier (U approximately 4.21 cm(-1) for the purely axial limit), the magnetization relaxation remains extremely fast down to the lowest temperatures. The estimated quantum tunneling rate, Gamma>0.667 MHz, makes this complex a prime candidate for observation of coherent tunneling of the magnetization. 相似文献

The potential energy surface for formation of 2-amino-5-hydroxy-7,9-dihydropurine-6,8-dione (5-OH-OG), guanidinohydantoin (Gh) and spiroiminodihydantoin (Sp) from 8-oxoguanine (8-oxoG) has been mapped out using B3LYP density functional theory, the aug-cc-pVTZ and 6-31+G(d,p) basis sets and the IEF-polarizable continuum model (PCM) solvation model. Three pathways for formation of 5-OH-OG from 8-oxoG were evaluated: (A) stepwise loss of two electrons and two protons to form the quinonoid intermediate 2-amino-7,9-dihydro-purine-6,8-dione (8-oxoG(ox)) followed by hydration; (B) stepwise loss of two electrons and one proton and net addition of hydroxide, in which the key step is nucleophilic addition to the 8-oxoG radical cation; and (C) stepwise loss of one electron and one proton and addition of hydroxyl radical to the 8-oxoG radical cation. The data suggest that all three pathways are energetically feasible mechanisms for the formation of 5-OH-OG, however, Pathway A may be kinetically favored over Pathway B. Although lower in energy, Pathway C may be of limited biological significance since it depends on the local concentration of hydroxyl radical. Pathways for hydrolysis and decarboxylation of 5-OH-OG to form Gh via either a carboxylic acid or substituted carbamic acid intermediate have been evaluated with the result that cleavage of the N1-C6 bond is clearly favored over that of the C5-C6 bond. Formation of Sp from 5-OH-OG via stepwise proton transfer and acyl migration or ring opening followed by proton transfer and ring closure have also been explored and suggest that deprotonation of the hydroxyl group facilitates a 1,2 acyl shift. Results of the calculations are consistent with experimental studies showing dependence of the Gh/Sp product ratio on pH. Under neutral and basic conditions, the data predict that formation of Sp is kinetically favored over the pathways for formation of Gh. Under acidic conditions, Gh is predicted to be the kinetically favored product. 相似文献
