Potassium-silicate glass, 0.05K2O·0.95SiO2, was prepared by molecular dynamics under three different regimes (cooling rates, simulating box sizes) to study their influence to temperature regimes of volume fluctuations. Partial volume fluctuations (VF) were introduced with the help of Voronoi polyhedra tessellation. Dynamic and static fluctuations were suggested as a measure for time- and space-related fluctuations. Separation of the dynamic and static VFs anticipates glass transition. The glass transition was related with the change of the temperature course of the static VFs. The dynamic VFs changed their temperature regimes well below the glass transition and the transition temperature was related with the change of the transport regime. Glass transition cages the atoms but Voronoi polyhedra are definitely shaped well below the glass transition temperature.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe a novel technique for depositing metal nanoparticles (NPs) on a planar substrate whereby the NPs are micro-patterned on the surface by a simple stamp-printing procedure. The method exploits the attractive force between negatively charged colloidal metal NPs and positively-charged polyelectrolyte layers which have been selectively deposited on the surface. Using this technique, large uniform areas of patterned metal NPs, with different plasmonic properties, were achieved by optimisation of the stamping process. We report the observation of unusual fluorescence emission from these structures. The emission was measured using epifluorescence microscopy. Fluorescence lifetime behaviour was also measured. Furthermore, the μ-patterned NPs exhibited blinking behaviour under 469 nm excitation and the fluorescence spectrum was multi-peaked. It has been established that the fluorescence is independent of the plasmon resonance properties of the NPs. As well as optimising the novel NP μ-patterning technique, this work discusses the origin and characteristics of the anomalous fluorescence behaviour in order to characterise and minimise this unwanted background contribution in the use of metal NPs for plasmonic enhancement of fluorescence for optical biochip applications.  相似文献

A review of research and development of Lu3Al5O12 (LuAG)-based single crystal scintillators is presented. Crystals of this type have been prepared by the micro-pulling down method at the initial stage of material screening and by Czochralski or Bridgman methods to obtain higher quality and larger size single crystals afterward. Several different activators, namely Ce3+, Pr3+, Yb3+ and Sc3+ have been reported in the literature and such doped LuAG single crystals have been extensively studied to understand a number of issues, including: the scintillation mechanism, underlying energy transfer and trapping processes including the nature and role of material defects involved in the scintillation process and their relation to manufacturing technology. Significant improvements in the understanding of aluminum garnet scintillators lead to the discovery of multicomponent garnet single crystal scintillators in 2011, which are described. These materials gave rise to new class of ultraefficient complex oxide scintillators, the light yield of which considerably exceeds the values achieved for the best Ce-doped orthosilicate scintillators.  相似文献

Respiratory infections are a real threat for humans, and therefore the pig model is of interest for studies. As one of a case for studies, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP) caused infections and still worries many pig breeders around the world. To better understand the influence of pathogenic effect of APP on a respiratory system—lungs and tracheobronchial lymph nodes (TBLN), we aimed to employ matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-TOF MSI). In this study, six pigs were intranasally infected by APP and two were used as non-infected control, and 48 cryosections have been obtained. MALDI-TOF MSI and immunohistochemistry (IHC) were used to study spatial distribution of infectious markers, especially interleukins, in cryosections of porcine tissues of lungs (necrotic area, marginal zone) and tracheobronchial lymph nodes (TBLN) from pigs infected by APP. CD163, interleukin 1β (IL-1β) and a protegrin-4 precursor were successfully detected based on their tryptic fragments. CD163 and IL-1β were confirmed also by IHC. The protegrin-4 precursor was identified by MALDI-TOF/TOF directly on the tissue cryosections. CD163, IL-1β and protegrin-4 precursor were all significantly (p < 0.001) more expressed in necrotic areas of lungs infected by APP than in marginal zone, TBLN and in control lungs.  相似文献

Herein we evaluate the influence of an electric field on the coupling of two delocalized electrons in the mixed‐valence polyoxometalate (POM) [GeV14O40]8? (in short V14) by using both a t‐J model Hamiltonian and DFT calculations. In absence of an electric field the compound is paramagnetic, because the two electrons are localized on different parts of the POM. When an electric field is applied, an abrupt change of the magnetic coupling between the two delocalized electrons can be induced. Indeed, the field forces the two electrons to localize on nearest‐neighbors metal centers, leading to a very strong antiferromagnetic coupling. Both theoretical approaches have led to similar results, emphasizing that the sharp spin transition induced by the electric field in the V14 system is a robust phenomenon, intramolecular in nature, and barely influenced by small changes on the external structure.  相似文献

It is well known that clothes used in sporting activity are a barrier for heat exchange between the environment and athlete, which should help in thermoregulation improvement. However, it is difficult to evaluate which top is best for each athlete according to the characteristics of the sport. Researchers have tried to measure the athlete’s temperature distribution during exercise at the base layers of tops with different approaches. The aim of this case study was to investigate the use of thermography for thermo-active base layer evaluation. Six new base layers were measured on one cyclist volunteer during a progressive training on a cycloergometer. As a control condition, the skin temperature of the same volunteer was registered without any layer with the same training. A training protocol was selected approximate to cycling race, which started from the warm-up stage, next the progressive effort until the race finished and at the end “cool-down” stage was over. In order to show which layer provided the strongest and weakest barrier for heat exchange in comparison with environment, the temperature parameters were taken into consideration. The most important parameter in the studies was the temperature difference between the body and the layers, which was changing during the test time. The studies showed a correlation between the ergometer power parameter and the body temperature changes, which has a strong and significant value. Moreover, the mass of every layer was checked before and after the training to evaluate the mass of the sweat exuded during the test. From this data, the layer mass difference parameter was calculated and taken into consideration as a parameter, which may correspond with the mean heart rate value from each training. A high and positive correlation coefficient was obtained between the average heart rate and the mass difference for the base layers. Thermal analysis seems to have a new potential application in the objective assessment of sports clothing and may help in choosing the proper clothes, which could support heat transfer during exercising and protect the body from overheating.
