The spin states of a series of silicon- and carbon-bridged phenyl nitroxides were examined with respect to the temperature dependent ESR and SQUID measurements. Of those, a linear relationship between the ESR signal intensity and 1/T (T = absolute temperature) and an increase of χmolT along lowering T were observed for a compound having disilanylene-bridged m- and p-phenyl nitroxide units (Si2mp), indicating ferromagnetic spin-spin interaction in this molecule. In contrast to this, no clear intramolecular spin-spin interaction took place in the monosilanylene analogue (Si1mp). Mono- and disilanylene-bridged phenylnitroxides with p-, p- or m-, m-substitution (Si1pp,Si1mm, Si1pp, and Si2mm) exhibited the singlet ground state. The trisilanylene and siloxanylene bridges did not play an obvious role in the spin interaction, in either a ferro- or antiferromagnetic fashion, regardless of the substitution modes of the phenylenes. MO calculations on the model compounds provided a mechanistic interpretation for the high-spin interaction through the σ-π system. 相似文献

The cyclohexadiene derivative of C(60) rearranges photochemically to bis(fulleroid) (two [6,5] open structure) and bis(methano)fullerene (two [6,6] closed structure). During this process, a [6,5] open/[6,6] closed intermediate is observed. The isolated intermediate undergoes photochemical rearrangement to bis(fulleroid) and bis(methano)fullerene. On the other side, it undergoes retrorearrangement to the starting material in the dark. The structure and energetics of these C(60) derivatives have been studied at the AM1, PM3, RHF, and B3LYP levels of theory. It is found that bis(fulleroid) bearing four tert-butoxycarbonyl substituents is 5.8 kcal/mol (B3LYP) more stable than the corresponding bis(methano)fullerene. The isolated intermediate having the [6,5] open/[6,6] closed structure is 6.7 kcal/mol more favorable than the previously proposed two [6,5] closed intermediate, and the formation of this compound is well explained by the di-pi-methane rearrangement. (13)C NMR calculation at the B3LYP level reproduced the experimental chemical shifts with very good accuracy for each molecular system. Theoretical studies mainly at the unrestricted B3LYP level on singlet and triplet state potential energy surfaces on fullerene derivatives support the di-pi-methane rearrangement mechanism. The previously proposed symmetrical [4+4]/[2+2+2] and the novel proposed unsymmetrical di-pi-methane pathways may coexist during the reaction. 相似文献

A trinuclear rhenium sulfide cluster complex, [(Ph(3)P)(2)N][Re(3)(mu(3)-S)(mu-S)(3)Cl(6)(PMe(2)Ph)(3)], synthesized from Re(3)S(7)Cl(7), dimethylphenylphosphine, and [(Ph(3)P)(2)N]Cl is readily converted to a bridging SO(2) complex, [(Ph(3)P)(2)N][Re(3)(mu(3)-S)(mu-S)(2)(mu-SO(2))Cl(6)(PMe(2)Ph)(3)], by reaction with O(2). The oxygen atoms on the SO(2) ligand react with phosphines or phosphites to form phosphine oxides or phosphates, and the original cluster complex is recovered. The reaction course has been monitored by (31)P NMR as well as by UV-vis spectroscopy. The catalytic oxygenation of PMePh(2) in the presence of the SO(2) complex shows that turnovers are 8 per hour at 23 degrees C in CDCl(3). A highly efficient method for the synthesis of stereochemically pure (>/=99% ee and >50/1 dr) alpha,omega-diheterofunctional reduced polypropionates has been developed. The essential features of the method are represented by the conversion of inexpensive styrene into 2-methyl-4-phenyl-1-pentanol (1) in 50% yield over two steps from styrene via Zr-catalyzed asymmetric carboalumination (ZACA) reaction in the presence of (NMI)2ZrCl2 and Pd-catalyzed vinylation of the in situ generated isoalkylalanes in the presence of Zn(OTf)2 and a catalytic amount of Pd(DPEphos)Cl2. This ZACA-Pd-catalyzed vinylation may be repeated as needed without purification. After the final ZACA reaction, oxidation with O2 provides alpha-hydroxy-omega-phenyl reduced polypropionates, which can be fully or partially purified by chromatography. After acetylation, Ru-catalyzed oxidative cleavage of the Ph ring, and reduction with BH3.THF, the second chromatographic purification provides stereoisomerically pure alpha,omega-diheterofunctional reduced polypropionates (e.g., 9 and 11) that can be further converted to key intermediates 6 and 7 for the synthesis of ionomycin (4) and borrelidin (5), respectively, by known reactions. 相似文献

In order to elucidate the termination mechanism in the graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate to unreduced and reduced wool fibers, graft copolymers were prepared by means of the LiBr–K2S2O8 redox sytem without homopolymer or with K2S2O8 only with homopolymer at 30°C. The graft polymers (PMMA) were isolated almost completely from the wool trunk by an HCI-digestion method, leaving a few amino acid residues on the end of the graft polymers. Dinitrophenylation of the isolated polymer was carried out by various methods. The spectral features were almost the same as for dinitrophenylated amino acids of the usual type such as valine, leucine, and methionine, with a maximum in ultraviolet light at 340–345 mμ. From colorimetric analysis of the number of dinitrophenylated amino acid endgroups and the measurement of the average molecular weight of the isolated polymers, the number of amino acid endgroups linked to the graft polymers was calculated to be about one and two per polymer chain in reduced and unreduced wool, respectively, independent of the reaction system, graft-on, and molecular weight of graft polymers. From these facts, it was suggested that the most of isolated polymers are the truly grafted polymers. Also, the termination reactions have been explained as follows. In the unreduced wool, the restriction of mobility of the radical end might be expected, for the confinement of growing chains in wool fibers. This would be favorable to termination by recombination rather than by the disproportionation, since the former has a lower activation energy than the latter. Thus, the formation of intra- or intermolecular crosslinks might be considered between polypeptide chains. On the other hand, in the reduced wool, the mobility of graft polymers might be considered to be greater than that of unreduced wool because of its open structure.
