The two alkaline earth niobates Sr2Nb2O7 and Ba0.5Sr0.5Nb2O6 have been prepared, their electronic properties measured, and their photoresponses compared. The indirect band gap in Sr2Nb2O7 is 3.86 eV compared with 3.38 eV for Ba0.5Sr0.5Nb2O6. Hence, photoanodes composed of Sr2Nb2O7 respond to much less of the “white” light spectrum than those made from Ba0.5Sr0.5Nb2O6. Nevertheless, their electrical outputs at an anode potential of 0.8 eV with respect to SCE in 0.2 M sodium acetate under “white” xenon arc irradiation of 1.25 W/cm2 are comparable.  相似文献

A method is described for determining nanogram quantities of gold in vegetation. The sample is digested with fuming nitric acid. After addition of hydrochloric acid, the gold is extracted into 1 ml of 4-methylpentan-2-one; the organic layer is back-extracted with distilled water to remove iron interference, and gold in the organic layer is determined by electrothermal (graphite furnace) atomic absorption spectrometry. Limits of detection depend on the volume of organic phase used but can be as low as 0.2 ng g?1 for an original sample weight of 1 g.  相似文献

Viscosities of binary mixtures, benzene + benzonitrile, benzene + methylpropylketone and cyclohexane + methylpropylketone were determined at 303·15 K. The experimental results were analysed in the light of Bloomfleld and Dewan’s theory. The analysis showed that the theory correctly predicts the sign of viscosity function in the case of benzene + benzonitrile and cyclohexane + methylpropylketone.  相似文献

Desiccant driven dehumidification for maintaining the proper humidity levels and atmospheric water capture with minimum energy penalty are important aspects in heat pumps, refrigeration, gas and liquid purifications, gas sensing, and clean water production for improved human health and comfort. Water adsorption by using nanoporous materials has emerged as a viable alternative to energy-intensive industrial processes, thus understanding the significance of their porosity, high surface areas, vast pore volumes, chemical and structural features relative to the water adsorption is quite important. In this review article, important features of nanoporous materials are presented, including zeolites, porous carbons, as well as crystalline and amorphous porous organic polymers (POPs) to define the interactions between the water molecules and the polar/non-polar functional groups on the surface of these nanoporous materials. In particular, focus is placed on the recent developments in POPs in the context of water capture as a result of their remarkable stability towards water and wide range of available synthetic routes and building blocks for their synthesis. We also highlighted recent approaches to increase the water sorption capacity of POPs by modifying their structure, morphology, porosity, and chemical functionality while emphasizing their promising future in this emerging area.  相似文献

A novel liquid chromatographic method for analysis three potential impurities in brimonidine tartrate drug substance has been developed and validated. Efficient chromatographic separation was achieved on a C8 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5-μm particles) with a simple mobile-phase gradient at a flow rate of 1.0 mL min?1. Quantification was achieved by use of ultraviolet detection at 248 nm. Resolution between brimonidine tartrate and its three potential impurities was greater than 3.0. Regression analysis showed the r value (correlation coefficient) was >0.999 for brimonidine and its three impurities. The method was capable of detecting all three impurities of brimonidine tartrate at levels below 0.07 μg in a test concentration of brimonidine tartrate of 1.0 mg mL?1 and for an injection volume of 10 μL. A solution of brimonidine tartrate in acetonitrile–water 2:8 (v/v) was stable for 48 h. The drug was subjected to stress conditions as prescribed by the ICH. Degradation was found to occur slightly under oxidative stress conditions but the drug was stable to aqueous, acidic, and basic hydrolysis, and photolytic and thermal stress. The assay of the stressed samples was calculated relative to a qualified reference standard and the mass balance was found close to 99.8%. The method was validated for linearity, accuracy, precision, and robustness.  相似文献

This article compares the solid phase extraction (SPE) and coprecipitative preconcentration of cadmium and lead from dilute aqueous solutions as a function of pH and weight of chelating agent. SPE enriches cadmium and lead over a wider pH range (6.0-8.0) and requires lower weight of DBQ chelate embedded benzophenone. Among the quinoline-8-ol and its dihaloderivatives, DBQ embedded benzophenone allows quantitative enrichment over a wide pH range (6.0-8.0) for both cadmium and lead unlike DCQ (∼6.5 for Cd and 6.5-7.0 for Pb), DBQ was preferred. The calibration plots were rectilinear over the concentration range of 0.1-50 and 2.5-200 μg l−1 of cadmium and lead with detection limits of 0.1 and 2.0 μg l−1, respectively, which are 400 times lower than the direct FAAS method. The precision of the developed procedure is good as it provides relative standard deviation values of 2.20 and 2.45% during five replicate determinations of 2 and 25 μg l−1 of cadmium and lead, respectively. The accuracy of the developed procedure was tested by analyzing certified reference materials (CRM's) of soil and marine sediment samples supplied by IAEA, Italy and NRC, Canada, respectively. Furthermore, the developed procedure has been successfully used for the speciative determination of cadmium and lead in soil samples collected from the vicinity of industries in India.  相似文献

REASON: Considerable concern was raised about the research purportedly conducted at Sri Venkateswara University, India with the alleged involvement of Professor P. Chiranjeevi. Questions were raised as to the volume of publications, the actual capacity (equipment, orientation and chemicals) of the laboratory in which Professor Chiranjeevi worked, the validity of certain of the research data identified in the articles, the fact that a number of papers appear to have been plagiarized from other previously published papers, and some aspects of authorship. Professor Chiranjeevi was given the opportunity to respond to these allegations. Thereafter, a committee was constituted by the University to look into these allegations. Based on the enquiry committee report, we have been informed by the head of the Department of Chemistry at Sri Venkateswara University that the university authorities have taken disciplinary action against Professor Chiranjeevi, as the university considers that there are grounds for such action. Therefore, based on the results of this investigation, the Editors-in-Chief are retracting this article.  相似文献
