Langmuir-Blodgett monolayers of a donor-acceptor diad TTF-sigma-(trinitrofluorene) (8) with an extremely low HOMO-LUMO gap (0.3 eV) have been used to create molecular junction devices that show rectification behavior. By virtue of structural similarities and position of molecular orbitals, 8 is the closest well-studied analogue of the model Aviram-Ratner unimolecular rectifier (TTF-sigma-TCNQ). Compressing the monolayer results in aligning the molecules, and is followed by a drastic increase in the rectification ratio. The direction of rectification depends on the electrodes used and is different in n-Si/8/Ti and Au/8/C16H33S-Hg junctions. The molecular nature of such behavior was corroborated by control experiments with fatty acids and by reversing the rectification direction with changing the molecular orientation (Au/D-sigma-A versus Au/A-sigma-D). 相似文献

It is demonstrated that a single, uniform long-period fiber grating (LPFG) working in the linear regime inherently behaves as an ultrafast optical temporal differentiator. Specifically, we show that the output temporal waveform in the core mode of a LPFG providing full energy coupling into the cladding mode is proportional to the first derivative of the optical temporal signal (e.g., optical pulse) launched at the input of the LPFG. Moreover, a LPFG providing full energy recoupling back from the cladding mode into the core mode inherently implements second-order temporal differentiation. Our numerical results have confirmed the feasibility of this simple, all-fiber approach to processing optical signals with temporal features in the picosecond and subpicosecond ranges. 相似文献

Kinetics of bovine serum albumin and ovalbumin adsorption by nanoporous carbons with different main pore sizes (1.6, 5, 7.8 and 28 nm) was studied. Experimental kinetics curves were well described by multi-exponential equation with different number of exponents (from 1 to 4). Protein adsorption kinetics showed significant dependence on pore size of carbonaceous adsorbent. Correlation between pore size distribution and amount of protein adsorbed revealed threshold pore size 7.3 nm for BSA and 6.8 nm for OVA, which are close to hydrodynamic diameter of protein molecules. The fastest and the highest adsorption of proteins were observed in carbons having developed porosity with pore sizes larger than 15 nm. 相似文献

Trianionic polymethines of the A′-π-A-π-A-π-A′ type comprising dioxaborine rings (A) and different electron-accepting end groups (A′) have been synthesized. The obtained dyes absorb and emit light in the near-infrared region with remarkably high molar attenuation coefficients (ϵ up to 495 000 M−1 cm−1 in DMF) and fluorescence quantum yields (Φf up to 0.73 in DMF). Thus, the novel trianionic dyes stand among the brightest individual fluorophores known to date – with a magnitude of fluorescence brightness (ϵ⋅Φf) of 313 000 M−1 cm−1 in DMF. The synthesized dyes demonstrate a minor negative solvatochromism and small Stokes shifts. X-ray data reveal the nearly planar geometry of the trianionic chromophore. All the obtained compounds are stable in the solid state and in a solution, although the relative stability is much higher in polar aprotic than in protic solvents. 相似文献
