The effective mass of electrons in the intrinsic region of InSb

The effective masses of electrons m _n /m _o in the intrinsic region are calculated on the basis of measurements of the temperature dependence of the total magnetic susceptibility and the Hall coefficient of single-crystal and polycrystalline specimens of n- and p-type InSb. It is shown that the effective masses m _n /m _o are constant in the range considered and their values for the various specimens are 3·43×10^–2 to 3·53×10^–2.     

Zum Problem der Oberflächenoxydation von Kupfer

Zusammenfassung Auf Grund des Studiums der Oberflächenstruktur von Kupfer wird ein Überblick über die Sauerstoffverbindungen gegeben, die sich bei Oberflächenoxydation bilden. Es wird die Möglichkeit der Entstehung und Koexistenz der Sauerstoffverbindungen Cu₂Ound CuOin der Oxydschicht und die Möglichkeit der Existenz von (CuO)sowie einige ihrer Eigenschaften behandelt.     

Mikrophy'sikalische Vorgänge,die die Entstehung der Schnellen Schichtungswellen in der Neonglimmentladung bedingen

Zusammenfassung Im nachstehenden Artikel werden mikrophysikalische Vorgänge behandelt, die das Auftreten schneller Schichtungswellen in Neonglimmentladungen veranlassen können. Es werden sowohl die qualitativen Abhängigkeiten, als auch die ziffernmäigen Werte der Parameter der Schichtungswellen mit den charakteristischen Gröenwerten der in diesem Entladungstypus vor sich gehenden Vorgänge verglichen. Auf Grund der vorgenommenen Vergleiche kann gesagt werden, da die Relaxationszeiten der schnellen Wellen durch die Diffusionslebensdauer der atomaren, bzw. molekularen Ionen gegeben sind.

Photometrische Bestimmung von Nitrit mit Rivanol

Zusammenfassung In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden die Reaktionsbedingungen zur colorimetrischen Bestimmung von Nitrit mit Rivanol untersucht. Die Bestimmung ist einfach durchzuführen und für Nitrit weitgehend selektiv. Die Farbenintensität ist von der Konzentration der salpetriger Säure linear abhängig.     

Über eine Mögliche Erklärung der Elektronenemission aus den Kristallen von Alkalihalogeniden und Silberhalogeniden

Zusammenfassung Im vorliegenden Artikel wird der Mechanismus des Entstehens einer elektrischen Doppelschicht an der Oberfläche von Kristallen von Alkalihalogeniden und Silberhalogeniden angeführt und deren Eigenschaften und Einfluss auf die Exoelektronenemission aus diesen Kristallen werden besprochen.     

Comparative analysis of the full set of methylated β‐cyclodextrins as chiral selectors in capillary electrophoresis

The chiral separation ability of the full library of methylated‐β‐cyclodextrins towards pharmacologically significant racemic drugs including basic compounds was studied by chiral CE. The syntheses of all the methylated, single isomer β‐cyclodextrins were revised and optimized and the aqueous solubility of the derivatives was unambiguously established. The three most relevant commercially available methylated isomeric mixtures were also included in the screening, so a total of ten various methylated CDs were investigated. The effects of the selector concentration on the enantiorecognition properties at acidic pH were investigated. Among the dimethylated β‐cyclodextrins, the heptakis (2,6‐di‐O‐methyl)‐β‐cyclodextrin isomer (2,6‐DIMEB) resulted to be the most versatile chiral selector. Terbutaline was selected as a model compound for the in‐depth investigation of host‐guest enantiodiscrimination ability. The association constants between the two terbutaline enantiomers and 2,6‐DIMEB were determined in order to support that the enantioseparation is driven by differences is host‐guest binding. The migration order of the enantiomers was confirmed by performing spiking experiments with the pure enantiomers. 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy was applied to the 2,3‐, and 2,6‐DIMEB/terbutaline systems to rationalize at molecular level the different enantioseparation ability of the dimethylated β‐cyclodextrin selectors.     

Fast Exfoliation and Functionalisation of Two‐Dimensional Crystalline Carbon Nitride by Framework Charging

Two‐dimensional (2D) layered graphitic carbon nitride (gCN) nanosheets offer intriguing electronic and chemical properties. However, the exfoliation and functionalisation of gCN for specific applications remain challenging. We report a scalable one‐pot reductive method to produce solutions of single‐ and few‐layer 2D gCN nanosheets with excellent stability in a high mass yield (35 %) from polytriazine imide. High‐resolution imaging confirmed the intact crystalline structure and identified an AB stacking for gCN layers. The charge allows deliberate organic functionalisation of dissolved gCN, providing a general route to adjust their properties.     

The low-temperature phase of Kac-Ising models

We analyze the low-temperature phase of ferromagnetic Kax-Ising models in dimensionsd2. We show that if the range of interactions is ^–1, then two disjoint translation-invariant Gibbs states exist if the inverse temperature satisfies –1^N, where =d(1–)/(2d+2)(d+1), for any >0. The proof involves the blocking procedure usual for Kac models and also a contour representation for the resulting long-range (almost) continuous-spin system which is suitable for the use of a variant of the Peierls argument.
