Crystals listed in the JCPDS card in the BaO‐B2O3‐Al2O3 and BaO‐B2O3‐Ga2O3 systems are of interest from a viewpoint of the Second Harmonic Generation (SHG). Ba5Al4B12O29 and Ba5Ga4B12O29 are promising new crystals with SHG activity and with congruent melting mode. These crystals can be grown by the Czochralski method with a size of 3 × 3 × 0.1‐1mm. The polyaddition of 1,4-bis[(3-ethyl-3-oxetanyl)methoxymethyl]benzene (BEOB) with 3,3′,5,5′-tetrachlorobisphenol A (TCBPA) was examined with or without catalysts. High molecular weight polymer (polymers 1) (Mn = 13,600) with pendant primary hydroxyl groups was obtained in a 99% yield without any gel products when the reaction was performed with 5 mol % of tetraphenylphosphonium bromide as a catalyst in NMP at 160°C for 96 h. However, when the reaction was carried out without a catalyst under the same conditions, a low molecular weight polymer (Mn = 3200) was obtained in a 51% yield. The structure of the resulting polymer was confirmed by IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectra. In this reaction system, it was also found that tetraphenylphosphonium iodide and crown ether complexes such as 18-crown-6 (18-C-6)/KBr and 18-C-6/KI have high catalytic activity. Polyadditions of 1,4-bis[(3-methyl-3-oxetanyl)methoxymethyl]benzene with TCBPA and BEOB with 3,3′,5,5′-tetrabromobisphenol-S were also examined, and corresponding polymers (polymers 2 and 3) were obtained in good yields. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Major water-soluble arsenic compounds accumulated in some zoo- and phyto-plankton were identified. Zooplankton were collected at sampling stations in the Sea of Japan by a Norpac net towed from 600 m depth to the surface. Phytoplankton were cultivated under axenic conditions. Water-soluble arsenic compounds were extracted repeatedly from plankton tissues by aqueous methanol. The arsenic compounds in the extracts were analyzed by HPLC–ICP/MS. Among zooplankton analyzed in the present study, two carnivorous species, i.e. Amphipoda ( Themisto sp.) and Sagittoidea ( Sagitta sp.), contained arsenobetaine as the dominant arsenic species. Arsenobetaine was the major species in Euphausiacea ( Euphausia sp.), also. The most abundant arsenic compound in the herbivorous Copepoda species ( Calanus sp.), on the other hand, was an arsenic-containing ribofuranoside with a sulfate ester group, and arsenobetaine was only a minor component. Phytoplankton contained arsenic-containing ribofuranosides apparently in a species-speific manner. The arsenic compounds in zooplankton seem to reflect their feeding habit; i.e. carnivorous species eating zooplankton or other small animals accumulate arsenobetaine, while herbivorous ones eating phytoplankton accumulate arsenic-containing ribofuranosides as major arsenic compounds.  相似文献

Mixed-anion compounds have attracted growing attentions, but their synthesis is challenging, making a rational search desirable. Here, we explored LaF3-LaX3 (X=Cl, Br, I) system using ab initio structure searches based on evolutionary algorithms, and predicted LaF2X and LaFX2 (X=Br, I), which are respectively isostructural with LaHBr2 and YH2I, consisting of layered La-F blocks with single and double ordered honeycomb lattices, separated by van der Waals gaps. We successfully synthesized these compounds: LaF2Br and LaFI2 crystallize in the predicted structure, while LaF2I is similar to the predicted one but with different layer stacking. LaF2I exhibits fluoride ion conductivity comparable to that of non-doped LaF3, and has the potential to show better ionic conductivity upon appropriate doping, given the theoretically lower diffusion energy barrier and the presence of soft iodine anions. This study shows the structure prediction using evolutionary algorithms will accelerate the discovery of mixed-anion compounds in future, in particular those with an ordered anion arrangement.  相似文献

Two samples of microbial poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) having different molecular weight were used for the preparation of films to be exposed to gamma radiation. The effect of radiation on those samples with high molecular weight increased the fragility of the film. Biodegradability increased with time and reached about 95% after 18 days. Weight-loss of both samples (irradiated and non-irradiated) after 23 days were 100%, for those films with molecular weight of 265 kD.  相似文献

Crystallization process of molten Ba(B0.9Al0.1)2O4 from supercooled pendant drop was investigated on a viewpoint of a supercooling and a solid phase formation. Molten pendant drop was crystallized by a rod touching at an crystallization temperature under an adequate degree of supercooling. Three kinds of rods were used. Each rod was made of Pt, hBN and graphite which had different wettability to the molten drop. There were three kinds of phases on a solid Ba(B0.9Al0.1)2O4, such as a high temperature crystal phase, a low temperature crystal phase and a glass phase.
