Some results for non-linear elliptic problems with mixed boundary conditions

Emissionsspektrographische bestimmung von Stickstoffspuren über die Cyanbandenemission in AIIIBV-Halbleitern

Traces of nitrogen in GaP and GaAs are determined by an emission spectrographic method. The nitrogen, which is bound in the powder samples as nitride, reacts with the carbon of the powder mixture at the temperatures of the a.c. arc to form the CN-radical. The CN-band at 388.4 nm (head of the band) and the Sc I atomic line at 390.7 nm (standard) are used for the analysis. The detection limit (3s-criterion) is 100 ppm nitrogen (500 ng) in 5 mg of A^IIIB^V-semiconductor sample.

Untersuchungen über einen unstetig arbeitenden Stoß-Schwingungsdämpfer

Übersicht Eine Einrichtung zur Dämpfung mechanischer Schwingungen wird untersucht. Ihre Besonderheit besteht darin, daß sich eine kleine Zusatzmasse in einem Schlitz des starren Körpers, der einer harmonischen Zwangserregung ausgesetzt ist und dessen Schwingungsbewegung gedämpft werden soll, bewegt. Die Dämpfungswirkung wird durch Stöße erreicht, die zwischen den beiden Massen stattfinden. Die Bedingungen für die allgemeine periodische Bewegung mit zwei Stößen je Periode, deren Bild in der Phasenebene ein unsymmetrischer Grenzzykel ist, werden aufgestellt. Durch einen einfachen Grenzübergang wird man auf den Spezial-fall der in der Literatur bisher allein untersuchten symmetrischen Schwingung geführt. Die Stabilität wird mit Hilfe der für Abtastregelsysteme bekannten Kriterien geprüft. Für einige Parameterkombinationen werden die Ergebnisse in Diagrammen dargestellt.

Summary A discontinuous dynamic vibration absorber, consisting of a small auxiliary mass sliding in a slit of a rigid body upon which a sinusoidal force imput acts, is investigated. Collisions occurring between the two masses may have a damping effect on the motion of the rigid body. Assuming that there are two impacts per cycle, the conditions of periodicity are determined. The representation of the general motion in the phase plane shows an unsymmetrical limit cycle. The special case of the symmetrical oscillation, which to this date was the only one treated in the available literature, can now be obtained in a most direct fashion. Stability is determined by means of a criterion well known in the theory of sampled data systems. The results, using several different parameter combinations, are shown in the diagrams.

A home-made AAS-instrument and a home-made carbon-rod atomizer are described. The instrumental parameters were optimized. The influence of the matrix on the sensitivity, and the reasons for non-specific absorption are discussed. The detection limit of the method is 2–25 × 10^?11g or 3–20 ppM relative to 1 ml of 1M hydrochloric acid or 2.5–30 ppm relative to 0.1–1 mg of gallium arsenide.
