An experimental and theoretical study on the optically stimulated spin transport in zinc-blende semiconductors is presented. The first part of the paper describes an experiment which investigates the effect of a longitudinal electric field on the spin-polarized carriers induced by a circularly polarized light. Since the photo-generated hole spins relaxation is extremely fast, the experiment observes only the effect resulting from spin-polarized electrons accumulating at the transverse edges of the sample, as a result of left-right asymmetries in scattering for spin-up and spin-down electrons in the presence of spin–orbit (SO) interaction. It is found that the effect depends on the longitudinal electric field and doping density as well as on temperature. The results are discussed. The second part of the paper deals with a theoretical investigation using norm-conserving pseudopotential and Green function formalism to analyse the SO mechanism responsible for the light-induced Hall voltage. The findings resulting from the investigation are discussed and are compared with experimental data.  相似文献

SrBi2Ta2O9 (SBT) has potential application in FERAM. Some problems in the sol-gel processing of SBT, such as the solubility of metal alkoxides, chemical modification with a chelating reagent and crystallization behavior of the gels, are investigated.The starting solutions were prepared with Sr(OC4H9)2, Bi(OC3H7)3, and Ta(OC2H5)5. Ethoxyethanol and acetylacetone (ACAC) were used as solvent and chelating reagent, respectively. Ta- and Bi-alkoxide are chemically modified with ACAC, but Sr-alkoxide was not. The SBT solution was stabilized with ACAC for ca. 3 months. After hydrolysis of the SBT solution with the addition of ACAC, a monolithic and transparent gel was obtained at room temperature in 100 days. The X-ray diffraction peaks of SBT and very weak peaks of SrTa2O6 (ST) and SrBi2O4 (SB) were found after calcination at 700°C for both of the gels obtained with and without addition of ACAC. In contrast, the stronger peaks of ST and SB were observed for the powder mixture of SrCO3, Bi2O3, and Ta2O5 after calcination at 800°C. These results show the better homogeneity of the gels.  相似文献

Hazardous compounds and bacteria in water have an adverse impact on human health and environmental ecology. Polydopamine (or polypyrrole)‐coated magnetic nanoparticles and polymethacrylic acid‐co‐ethylene glycol dimethacrylate submicron particles were investigated for their fast binding kinetics with bisphenol A, proflavine, naphthalene acetic acid, and Escherichia coli. A new method was developed for the rapid determination of % binding by sequential injection of particles first and compounds (or E. coli) next into a fused‐silica capillary for overlap binding during electrophoretic migration. Only nanolitre volumes of compounds and particles were sufficient to complete a rapid binding test. After heterogeneous binding, separation of the compounds from the particles was afforded by capillary electrophoresis. % binding was influenced by applied voltage but not current flow. In‐capillary coating of particles affected the % binding of compounds.  相似文献

High field electron-spin transport in low temperature-grown gallium arsenide is studied. We generate electron spins in the samples by optical pumping. During transport, we observe the Dyakonov-Perel (DP) [M.I. Dyakonov, V.I. Perel, Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 60 (1971) 1954] spin relaxation of the drifting electrons. The results are discussed and are compared with those obtained in calculations of the DP spin relaxation frequency of the hot electrons. A good agreement is obtained.  相似文献

t -Butyloxacalix[3]arene tris (diethylacetamide), known to mimic the cellular sodium ion selectivity filter, has been shown to bind HgCl 2 . The dimeric complex crystallises in the triclinic space group P 1 with a =17.3019(6) Å, b =18.7821(4) Å, c =19.9025(5) Å, ! =67.3010(10), # =77.664(2); % =77.238(2) and D c =1.370 g cm m 3 for Z =4. Refinement based on 37,818 observed reflections gave a final R value of 0.0483. Implications for routes of mercury uptake are discussed.  相似文献

Because the optically induced second harmonic generation (SHG) is prevented by symmetry in a centrosymmetric material, one needs to form noncentrosymmetric processes in order to observe the SHG. However, one of the efficient ways to enhance the noncentrosymmetricity of a material is to dope it with an appropriate impurity and amount. We grow Cu-doped CdI2 layered nanocrystal structures from the mixture of CdI2 and CuI using the standard Bridgman-Stockbarger method and investigate the nano-confined effects by studying the second-order optical effect via the measurements of SHG. The second-order susceptibility for the nanocrystals is calculated and the values at liquid helium temperature range from 0.38 to 0.83 pm V−1 for the thicknesses of 10-0.8 nm respectively. The size dependence demonstrates the nano-sized quantum-confined effect with a clear increase in the SHG with decreasing the thickness of the nanocrystal or crystal temperature. Since the local electron-phonon anharmonicity is described by third-order rank tensors in disordered systems, the SHG is very similar to that one introduced for the third-order optical susceptibility. It has been confirmed by observing the large photoluminescent yield of the pure crystals. The Raman scattering spectra taken for thin nanocrystals confirm the phonon modes originating from interlayer phonons crucially responsible for the observed effects. The obtained results show that the Cu-doped CdI2 layered nanocrystals are promising materials for applications in optoelectronic nano-devices.  相似文献

A method of preparing titania-coated monolithic silica stationary phase has been developed to achieve liquid chromatographic separation of phosphorus-containing compounds, which have recently been attracting increasing attention in biochemical research. The titania-coated silica columns exhibited efficient separation with low pressure drop, which is a typical feature of monolithic structures, and also possessed phospho-selectivity, which is a unique property of the titania surface. The material characteristics of titania-coated monolithic silica were examined, and then resin-clad columns were applied to the HPLC analysis of phosphorylated compounds. Highly efficient separation of phosphorylated substances indicated that the novel titania-coated monolithic silica column will find applications as a useful tool in the field of biochemistry, especially in post-genomic analyses.  相似文献
