In this study, a method was developed for determination of steroid hormones (17beta-estradiol, estrone, 17alpha-ethynylestradiol) in tap and sewage water samples from Sweden. Sample preparation and analysis were performed by a hollow-fibre microporous membrane liquid-liquid extraction (HF-MMLLE) set-up combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In this approach, only the organic liquid in the lumen (10microL) of the hollow-fibre membrane was utilised for depleting extraction. Several parameters were studied, including: type of organic solvent, sample pH, salt and humic acid content. The optimised method allowed the determination of the analyte at the low ngL(-1) level in tap and sewage water. A linear plot gave correlation coefficients better than 0.995 and resulted in a method limit of detection of 1.6, 3 and 10ngL(-1) for 17beta-estradiol, estrone, and 17alpha-ethynylestradiol, respectively, in sewage water. Enrichment factors were over 1400 after derivatisation. The repeatabilities at 50 and 600ngL(-1) were better than 10% and 6%, respectively. 相似文献

Organic or inorganic colloids play a major role in the mobilization of trace elements in soils and waters. Environmental physicochemical parameters (pH, redox potential, temperature, pressure, ionic strength, etc.) are the controlling factors of the colloidal mobilization. This study was dedicated to follow the colloid-mediated mobilization of trace elements through time at the soil/water interface by means of an experimental approach. Soil column experiments were carried out using percolating synthetic solutions. The percolated solutions were ultrafiltrated with various decreasing cutoff thresholds to separate the different colloidal phases in which the dissolved organic carbon and trace element concentrations were measured. The major results which stem from this study are the following: (i) The data can be divided into different groups of organic compounds (microbial metabolites, fulvic acids, humic acids) with regard to their respective aromaticity and molecular weight. (ii) Three groups of elements can be distinguished based on their relationships with the colloidal phases: the first one corresponds to the so-called "truly" dissolved group (Li, B, K, Na, Rb, Si, Mg, Sr, Ca, Mn, Ba, and V). The second one can be considered as an intermediate group (Cu, Cd, Co, and Ni), while the third group gathers Al, Cr, U, Mo, Pb, Ti, Th, Fe, and rare earth elements (REE) carried by the organic colloidal pool. (iii) The data demonstrate that the fulvic acids seem to be a major organic carrier phase for trace elements such as Cu, Cd, Co, and Ni. By contrast, the trace elements belonging to the so-called colloidal pool were mostly mobilized by humic acids containing iron nanoparticles. Lead, Ti, and U were mobilized by iron nanoparticles bound to these humic acids. Thus, humic substances allowed directly or indirectly a colloidal transport of many insoluble trace elements either by binding trace elements or by stabilizing a ferric carrier phase. (iv) Finally, the results demonstrated also that REE were mostly mobilized by humic substances. The REE normalized patterns showed a middle REE downward concavity. Therefore, as previously shown elsewhere humic substances are a major control of REE speciation and REE fractionation patterns as well since the humic substance/metal ratio was the key parameter controlling the REE pattern shape. 相似文献

An analytical method devoted to organotin compounds (OTC) determination in brandy and wine was developed. It is based on solid-phase microextraction (SPME) of ethylated organotins. The following operating factors were examined: SPME mode/nature of fibre coating, sample volume/dilution, and sampling time. The optimisation work led to dilute the sample in an aqueous buffer (1/11, v/v ratio) in order to satisfactorily decrease the matrix effects due to competitive sorption of non-OTC species onto/into fibre coating. The optimised operating conditions consist of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) coated fibre used in headspace mode for 30 min. In wines, the limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) ranged from 1 to 40 and 3 to 80 ng(Sn)L(-1) respectively, according to the species. The analytical validation was made by evaluating the accuracy of OTC determination in spiked samples with various concentrations over the whole calibration range, i.e. from LOQ to 1000 ng(Sn)L(-1). Recovery was around 80-110% and precision (relative standard deviation, RSD) was between 12% and 25%. Despite the presence of two chromatographic peaks corresponding to sulphur compounds during brandy analysis, the selectivity of the method is adequate. The analysis confirmed the analytical performances and applicability of the method to wine and brandy samples. Libraries of N-substituted aminocyclitol derivatives of the scyllo and racemic chiro series by means of parallel solution-phase methodology with the help of robotic technology are described. Chemical diversity has been introduced by reaction of selected scaffolds with a set of aldehydes, acyl chlorides, sulfonyl chlorides, chloroformates, and amines to afford the corresponding amines, amides, sulfonamides, carbamates and ureas, respectively. The optimized methodology has proven excellent, in terms of overall purities of the resulting libraries, for the production of amides. Sulfonamides and carbamates have been obtained in slightly lower purities, while amines afforded modest results. Selected library members have been evaluated as inhibitors of recombinant glucocerebrosidase with K(i) values ranging in the low micromolar scale for the most active members. 相似文献

The hydroxyl end groups of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) have been transformed easily and quantitatively into amino groups via the Mitsunobu reaction. Phthalimide was alkylated with PEGs and the hydrazinolysis of the resulting phthalimido‐PEGs gave the amino compounds in high yields. Quaternization of the amino groups leads to hydrophilic polymer chains bearing a positive charge on one or two ends, depending on the chosen PEG. Such products can be used to protect sterically, negatively charged particles such as clays.

A high performance liquid chromatography procedure, based on porous graphitic carbon stationary phase, was evaluated for simultaneous on-line preconcentration and separation of organic and inorganic selenium species. Detection was achieved by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with collision/reaction cell (ICP-CRC-MS). Different concentrations of formic acid were tested as mobile phase. A 240 mmol L(-1) concentration with pH adjusted to 2.6, allowed the separation of five species, i.e. selenite, selenate, selenomethionine, selenocystine and selenoethionine. On-line preconcentration of these five species was achieved when heptafluorobutyric acid was used as injection medium, inducing an enrichment of solutes at the top of the column which allowed large volumes (up to 1 mL) to be injected. Combining these injection conditions and 80Se monitoring with ICP-CRC-MS, detection limits between 2 and 8 ng (Se)L(-1), depending on the species, were obtained. Because of the extremely low detection limits obtained, the method was successfully applied to mineral waters. 相似文献
