Addition of 2D GO to the TiO2 nanowires brings about progressive changes in the optical properties and photochemical hydrogen production. The composition with progressive addition of GO played a dramatic role in making the material blue shift. The blue shift may happen due to transition from O2− anti-bonding orbital to the Ti4+ lowest empty orbital and also the process of band shifting towards lower wavelength is attributed to quantum confinement effect which occurs due to the transformation of bulk titanate to nanostructure titanate. In this article, we present the results of TiO2 nanowires and its rGO composites. TiO2 with 30 mg rGO nanocomposite exhibits good UV-light induced hydrogen production unlike bare TiO2. Current studies explain how rGO addition can be employed for better hydrogen production.

Lower bounds for persistence probabilities of stationary Gaussian processes in discrete time are obtained under various conditions on the spectral measure of the process. Examples are given to show that the persistence probability can decay faster than exponentially. It is shown that if the spectral measure is not singular, then the exponent in the persistence probability cannot grow faster than quadratically. An example that appears (from numerical evidence) to achieve this lower bound is presented.  相似文献

Though several glycosides of various triterpenes are known, but surprisingly no boswellic acid glycosides are reported so far. With a view to make water soluble boswellic acids, prepared glycosides of 11-keto boswellic acid for the first time. Naturally occurring boswellic acids which are anti-inflammatory agents are lipophylic in nature and thus, become a limiting factor in terms of their bioavailability. Among boswellic acids, 11-keto-β-boswellic acid is found to exhibit superior biological activity and hence successfully prepared its glucosyl and maltosyl derivatives viz., 11-keto-β-boswellic acid-24-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (9) and 11-keto-β-boswellic acid-24-O-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-β-D-glucopyranoside (15) which are water soluble. Both these compounds are soluble in water to the extent of 10% (w/w) which is very significant.  相似文献

In an effort to synthesise thermally stable bent-core nematogens with fairly low transition temperatures and wide nematic mesophase range, we have synthesised five new series of azo-substituted bent-core compounds without Schiff’s base unit. Here, we studied the effect of different lateral substituents (–CH3 and –Cl), at two different positions in one of the arms, on the mesogenic properties. We found that such variation in the molecular architecture has a clear-cut impact on the transition temperatures as well as the liquid crystalline properties. The mesogenic properties of these compounds were studied using polarising optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. The exact nature of different mesophases is investigated using X-ray diffraction studies. The results obtained indicated the presence of smectic nano clusters in the nematic mesophases of these compounds. We observed domains of opposite handedness in these nematic phases. The unusual properties of these mesophases were investigated by electro-optical studies. The electro-convection pattern study showed that these nematic mesophases are of negative dielectric anisotropic in nature. The compounds synthesised here exhibit photo-switching both in solution and in their nematic mesophases, a property that can be exploited for practical applications.  相似文献

Autofluorescence of oral tissue for optical pathology in oral malignancy   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Pulsed laser-induced-fluorescence studies of pathologically certified oral tissues are carried out at different excitations and time delays. Among the several excitations used, 325 nm produced noticeably different spectral profile for normal and malignant tissues. Extensive curve analysis was carried out in order to understand changes in biochemical composition of tissue based on spectral profiles. Curve resolution and principal component analysis (PCA) show that the fluorescence intensity changes from normal to malignant tissue samples are not completely explained in terms of simple collagen and NAD(P)H intensity changes. The spectra require at least five components to be fully accounted for. Several discrimination methodologies based on PCA and intensity differences between different emission peaks (resultant peaks of curve analysis) were also evaluated. The results obtained indicate PCA using Mahalanobis distance and spectral residual as discrimination parameters provides best discrimination and can be used for matching unknown samples to standard calibration sets. Intensity ratio of bound NAD(P)H to collagen seems to be more suitable for discrimination between normal and malignant oral tissue, compared to ratio of collagen to total intensity of all the other components together.  相似文献

A rapid, simple, and reliable competitive immunoassay was developed for measurement of lead ions Pb(II) in environmental samples. Avian antibodies were produced against Pb(II). Since lead ions are too small to elicit an immune response, the metal was coupled to protein carrier Bovine serum albumin (BSA) using a bifunctional chelator 1-(4-isothiocyanobenzyl) ethylenediamine N,N,N′,N′-tetra acetic acid (ITCBE). Poultry birds (layers) were immunised with this Pb(II)–ITCBE–BSA immunoconjugate and the avian antibodies (IgY) isolated from egg yolk recognised Pb(II)-ITCBE complexes as capture reagent and a Pb(II)–ITCBE conjugate of Alkaline phosphatase as an enzyme label. Antibody reaction was optimised for different concentrations of antigen and antibody dilutions. Cross reactivity with other metals were below 1% in competitive ELISA. The IC50 value of this avian antibody was 0.19?µg?mL?1. The detection range and the detection limit were 0.02–1000?µg?mL?1and 0.2?µg?mL?1, respectively.  相似文献
