Chitosan with excellent biodegradable and biocompatible characteristics has received attention as an oral drug delivery vehicle. A quaternized chitosan (i.e., N-diethylmethyl chitosan, DEMC) was prepared based on a modified two-step process via a 22 factorial design to optimize the preparative conditions. DEMC was fully characterized using FTIR and 1H-NMR spectroscopies. As calculated using NMR-based data, high degree of quaternization was achieved through the optimized two-step process. The highly quaternized biopolymeric derivative was subjected to microbial experiments. The antimicrobial activities of chitosan and DEMC against Escherchia coli were compared by calculation of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC). Our data indicates that although the antimicrobial activity of DEMC is higher than that of chitosan in acetic acid medium, the both compounds are pH dependent and an increase in concentration of acetic acid results in a significant decrease in both MIC and MBC.  相似文献

The catalyst (N,N‐bis(2,6‐dibenzhydryl‐4‐ethoxyphenyl)butane‐2,3‐diimine)nickel dibromide, a late transition metal catalyst, was prepared and used in ethylene polymerization. The effects of reaction parameters such as polymerization temperature, co‐catalyst to catalyst molar ratio and monomer pressure on the polymerization were investigated. The α‐diimine nickel‐based catalyst was demonstrated to be thermally robust at a temperature as high as 90 °C. The highest activity of the catalyst (494 kg polyethylene (mol cat)?1 h?1) was obtained at [Al]/[Ni] = 600:1, temperature of 90 °C and pressure of 5 bar. In addition, the performance of a binary catalyst using nickel‐ and palladium‐based complexes was compared with that of the corresponding individual catalytic systems in ethylene polymerization. In a study of the catalyst systems, the average molecular weight and molecular weight distribution for the binary polymerization were between those for the individual catalytic polymerizations; however, the binary catalyst activity was lower than that of the two individual ones. The obtained polyethylenes had high molecular weights in the region of 105 g mol?1. Gel permeation chromatography analysis showed a narrow molecular weight distribution of 1.44 for the nickel‐based catalyst and 1.61 for the binary catalyst system. The branching density of the polyethylenes generated using the binary catalytic system (30 branches/1000 C) was lower than that generated using the nickel‐based catalyst (51/1000 C). X‐ray diffraction study of the polymer chains showed higher crystallinity with lower branching of the polymer obtained. Also Fourier transform infrared spectra confirmed that all obtained polymers were low‐density polyethylene.  相似文献

Mixed micelle formation between two oppositely charged diblock copolymers that have a common thermosensitive nonionic block of poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAM) has been studied. The block copolymer mixed solutions were investigated under equimolar charge conditions as a function of both temperature and total polymer concentrations by turbidimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, two‐dimensional proton nuclear magnetic nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (2D 1H NMR NOESY), dynamic light scattering, and small angle X‐ray scattering measurements. Well‐defined and electroneutral cylindrical micelles were formed with a radius and a length of about 3 nm and 35 nm, respectively. In the micelles, the charged blocks built up a core, which was surrounded by a corona of PNIPAAM chains. The 2D 1H NMR NOESY experiments showed that a minor block mixing occurred between the core blocks and the PNIPAAM blocks. By approaching the lower critical solution temperature of PNIPAAM, the PNIPAAM chains collapsed, which induced aggregation of the micelles. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is an important pathogen which is classified into two, high- and low-risk groups. The proteins of high-risk and low-risk HPV types have different functions. Therefore, there is a need to develop a computational method for predicting these two groups. In the present study, the physiochemical properties of all early (E1, E2, E4, E5, E6, and E7) and late (L1 and L2) proteins in high- and low-risk HPV types have been studied. The concept of receiver operating characteristic analysis and support vector machines methods has been used for comparison of high- and low-risk HPV types. The results demonstrate that amino acid composition, physiochemical, and secondary structure of E2 protein are significantly different between these two groups. The results demonstrate that in silico properties can create useful information to predict high-risk and low-risk HPV types.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new Bi Level Fin Field Effect Transistor (BL-FinFET) where the fin regions consist of Bi level. The novel features of the BL-FinFET are simulated and compared with a Conventional FinFET (C-FinFET). The three-dimensional and two-carrier device simulation demonstrate that the application of Bi level to the FinFET structure results in an ideal threshold voltage roll-off, reduced DIBL, excellent behavior in voltage gain at high temperatures and the gate capacitance improvement when compared with the C-FinFET. Also, this paper illustrates the benefits of the high performance BL-FinFET device over the conventional one and expands the application of Silicon on Insulator Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (SOI MOSFETs) to high temperature.  相似文献

We present an algorithm for adaptive mesh refinement applied to mesoscopic stochastic simulations of spatially evolving reaction–diffusion processes. The transition rates for the diffusion process are derived on adaptive, locally refined structured meshes. Convergence of the diffusion process is presented and the fluctuations of the stochastic process are verified. Furthermore, a refinement criterion is proposed for the evolution of the adaptive mesh. The method is validated in simulations of reaction–diffusion processes as described by the Fisher–Kolmogorov and Gray–Scott equations.  相似文献

This work reports the application of bismuth bulk electrode (BiBE) for the determination of 2‐methyl‐4,6‐dinitrophenol (MDNP) by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) in Britton‐Robinson buffer of pH 12.0 as an optimal medium. BiBE was prepared by transferring molten bismuth into a glass tube under constant stream of nitrogen. The linear concentration dependences were measured from 1 to 10 μmol ? L?1 and from 10 to 100 μmol ? L?1 by using optimum accumulation potential of ?0.7 V and optimum accumulation time 30 s. Under these conditions limit of determination and limit of quantification was 0.45 and 1.5 μmol ? L?1, respectively. The developed method was successfully applied for the analysis of tap water as a model sample.  相似文献
