Four commonly found pesticides (alachlor, atrazine, metolachlor, and simazine) in surface water were determined using dispersive pipette extraction followed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. The rapid mixing and equilibrium between the dispersive pipette extraction adsorbent and water sample resulted in fast and efficient extraction. Using only 5?mL of water sample, the estimated time consumption for extraction of each sample was less than 5?min. Method validation was performed to evaluate accuracy, precision, linearity, the limits of detection, and the limits of quantitation. Average recovery of above 90% was obtained with relative standard deviations below 10%, which indicated good accuracy and precision of the dispersive pipette extraction method. Coefficients of determination were all above 0.9901 and showed good linearity. For the four pesticides studied using the current method, the limits of detection ranged from 7 to 40?ng?L?1, and limits of quantitation were from 20 to 130?ng?L?1. Method validation results supported the application of the current method for drinking water safety monitoring per National Primary Drinking Water Regulations established by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Water samples from Lake Lanier and Stone Mountain Lake (Georgia, USS) were analyzed with this method as a preliminary work for a larger scale drinking water quality study in the future. Trace amounts of simazine and atrazine were found in lake water samples, but both were below the regulation levels of the US Environmental Protection Agency.  相似文献

1-Hydrosilatrane, a safe and easy-to-handle reducing reagent that can be inexpensively accessed, has been shown to reduce prochiral ketones asymmetrically in the presence of chiral 1,2-aminoalcohols with ees ranging from 8% to 86%. The best result was achieved using ephedrine as the source of chirality, which is readily commercially available. The additive can be recovered through extraction and reused without any erosion of enantioselectivity.  相似文献

Wall paintings typically contain low concentrations of organic materials within a largely inorganic matrix and are characterised by their high porosity and long-term exposure to severe environmental conditions. The identification of organic materials within specific paint or plaster layers is challenging and the inherent characteristics of wall painting samples present further complications. Embedding materials (such as epoxy, polyester and acrylic-based resins) used to produce cross-sections often infiltrate porous and leanly bound samples, and compromise the interpretation of Fourier transform infrared attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) spectra and the qualitative identification of natural organic materials. An alternative method for the preparation of cross-sections of wall painting samples was developed using cyclododecane (C(12)H(24)) as a temporary consolidant and barrier coating to encapsulate the sample, and to provide necessary support to produce a cross-section through microtoming. Impacts of traditional and novel sample preparation techniques on the identification of organic materials with micro-FTIR-ATR were examined for both replica and real wall painting samples.  相似文献

We report characterization of the nanostructures of complexes formed between the redox-active lipid bis(n-ferrocenylundecyl)dimethylammonium bromide (BFDMA) and DNA using small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM). A particular focus was directed to the influence of lipid oxidation state (where reduced BFDMA has a net charge of +1 and oxidized BFDMA has a charge of +3) on the nanostructures of the solution aggregates formed. Complexes were characterized over a range of charge ratios of reduced BFDMA to DNA (1.1:1, 2.75:1, and 4:1) in solutions of 1 mM Li2SO4. For these complexes, a single peak in the SANS data at 1.2 nm(-1) indicated that a nanostructure with a periodicity of 5.2 nm was present, similar to that observed with complexes of the classical lipids DODAB/DOPE and DNA (multilamellar spacing of 7.0 nm). The absence of additional Bragg peaks in all the SANS data indicated that the periodicity did not extend over large distances. Both inverse Fourier transform analysis and form factor fitting suggested formation of a multilamellar vesicle. These results were confirmed by cryo-TEM images in which multilamellar complexes with diameters between 50 and 150 nm were observed with no more than seven lamellae per aggregate. In contrast to complexes of reduced BFDMA and DNA, Bragg peaks were absent in SANS spectra of complexes formed by oxidized BFDMA and DNA at all charge ratios investigated. The low-q behavior of the SANS data obtained using oxidized BFDMA and DNA complexes suggested that large, loose aggregates were formed, consistent with complementary cryo-TEM images showing predominantly loose disordered aggregates. Some highly ordered spongelike and cubic phase nanostructures were also detected in cryo-TEM images. We conclude that control of BFDMA oxidation state can be used to manipulate the nanostructures of lipid-DNA complexes formed using BFDMA.  相似文献

Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) from hardwood bleached kraft pulp (HwBKP) are produced via enzymatic, chemical, and mechanical treatment. A nanoporous structured CNF-based separator is produced, and the electrochemical performance, morphology, and thermal stability analyses are performed in comparison to the commercial polyethylene separator. The results obtained show that the electrolyte-philic CNF separator has capacity retention of 88.6% over 200 cycles and very good ionic conductivity and wettability results due to its high hydrophilic nature. At 140°C, the CNF separator was resilient to heat and remained intact. The CNF separator reflects high thermal resistance and good electrolyte uptake properties that are among the mandatory requirements of a separator hence, a promising contender for use in lithium-ion batteries.  相似文献

In the presence of rhodium(I) hydride catalysts, tertiary N-allylamines are known to isomerise into E enamines. In contrast, we have recently found that N-allylaziridines isomerise to form Z enamines. On the basis of literature data, the most likely mechanism of isomerisation would involve a rhodium hydride addition/beta-hydride elimination sequence. We show that the observed selectivity cannot be adequately explained by this pathway and is more consistent with initial CH-activation followed by rearrangement to form a five-membered cyclometallated rhodium intermediate. This intermediate subsequently undergoes reductive elimination to form a C--H bond. The resulting geometrically stable Z enamines are useful building blocks for stereoselective synthesis.  相似文献

A 12-mer peptide, identified through phage display biopanning, has been used for the first time to induce the rapid formation of ferroelectric (tetragonal) nanocrystalline BaTiO3 at room temperature from an aqueous salt precursor solution at near neutral pH. BaTiO3 is widely used in capacitors, thermistors, displays, and sensors owing to its attractive dielectric, ferroelectric, pyroelectric, optical, and electrochemical properties. Two 12-mer peptides (BT1 and BT2) were selected from a phage-displayed peptide library via binding to tetragonal BaTiO3 powder. While these peptides possessed various types of amino acids, 8 of the 12 amino acids were common to both peptides. Each of these peptides induced the formation of faceted nanoparticles (50-100 nm diameter) from an aqueous precursor solution. X-ray diffraction and selected area electron diffraction patterns obtained from these faceted nanoparticles were consistent with the BaTiO3 compound. Rietveld analyses of the X-ray diffraction patterns yielded good fits to tetragonal crystal structures, with the BaTiO3 formed in the presence of the BT2 peptide exhibiting the most tetragonal character. A coating of the latter BaTiO3 nanoparticles exhibited polarization hysteresis (a well-known characteristic of ferroelectric materials) at room temperature and a relative permittivity of 2200. Such rapid, peptide-induced precipitation at room temperature provides new opportunities for direct BaTiO3 formation on low-melting or reactive materials (e.g., plastics, cloths, bio-organics) and the low temperature integration of BaTiO3 into electronic devices (e.g., on silicon or flexible polymer substrates).  相似文献

The amplified detection of DNA or of single-base mismatches in DNA is achieved by the use of nucleic acid-functionalized magnetic particles that separate the recognition duplexes and, upon amplification, yield chemiluminescence-generating DNAzymes as reporter units. The analysis of M13 phage ssDNA is achieved by the hybridization of the analyte to capture nucleic acid-functionalized magnetic particles followed by the binding of a DNA machine unit to the analyte domain. The magnetic separation of the multi-component-functionalized magnetic particles, followed by their reaction with polymerase, dNTPs, and the nicking enzyme (Nb.BbvCI) activate the autonomous synthesis of the horseradish peroxidase-mimicking DNAzyme that acts as chemiluminescent reporter. The single-base mutation in DNA is achieved by coupling of the DNA machine to the mutant DNA/capture nucleic acid-functionalized magnetic particles hybrid structure. The activation of the polymerization/nicking cycles yield the chemiluminescent reporting DNAzyme. The magnetic separation of the DNA recognition hybrids improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the analytical protocol as compared to related DNAzyme synthesizing schemes.  相似文献
