A novel neutral tetrameric silver(I) cluster [Ag(mtsc)](4) was obtained from reactions of a tridentate (4)N-morpholyl 2-acetylpyridine thiosemicarbazone ligand (N'-[1-(2-pyridyl)ethylidene] morpholine-4-carbothiohydrazide, Hmtsc) and silver(I) sources containing Ag-O bonds (Ag(2)O, Ag(OAc), silver(I) 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylate (infinity){[Ag(Hpyrrld)](2)}, silver(I) 5-oxo-2-tetrahydrofurancarboxylate (infinity){[Ag(othf)](2)}, and silver(I) complexes with camphanic acid (infinity){[Ag(ca)]} and (infinity){[Ag(ca)(Hca)]}). The cluster was characterized by elemental analysis, TG/DTA, FTIR and single-crystal X-ray analysis in the solid state. The solution properties of the complexes were investigated using solution molecular weight measurement, ESI-MS and solution ((1)H, (13)C and (31)P) NMR spectroscopy. The obtained cluster is a novel example of a light-stable Ag(I) cluster with a tridentate thiosemicarbazone ligand and the second report of a crystal structure of a thiosemicarbazone silver(I) complex. The reaction of the tetramer with a large excess of PPh(3) gave dimeric complexes, namely, [Ag(micro(S)-mtsc)(PPh(3))](2) and [(PPh(3))(2)Ag(micro(S)-mtsc)(2)Ag]. The chloroform solution of the tetrameric complex showed modest and effective activities against selected bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and yeasts (Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae), respectively, but it did not inhibit the growth of any selected microorganisms in a water-suspension system.  相似文献

Owing to their structure of small phosphate units, phosphate invert glasses have high crystallisation tendencies, which make processing of the melt challenging. The aim was to improve their processing by (1) increasing the number of glass components and (2) incorporating intermediate oxides (TiO2, MgO and ZnO). Glasses (P2O5–CaO–MgO–Na2O) were produced by a melt-quench route. In series 1, TiO2 was partially substituted for Na2O, and the number of components was increased by partially substituting strontium for calcium, zinc for magnesium and potassium for sodium on a molar base. In series 2, the MgO + ZnO content in the multicomponent glass was varied between 0 and 20 mol% in exchange for CaO + SrO. Differential scanning calorimetry showed a significant increase of the processing window in the multicomponent glasses, explained by an increased energy barrier for crystallisation owing to increased entropy of mixing. The MgO + ZnO content also significantly improved the processing window from 117 K (0 mol% MgO + ZnO) to 185 K (20 mol%), owing to their large field strength. These results show that the processing of phosphate invert glasses for biomedical applications can be improved significantly by incorporating ions such as strontium or zinc which are also known to have therapeutic effects.  相似文献

Polymeric complexes of ruthenium(II)-ruthenium(III) tetracarboxylato units linked by cyanato, thiocyanato, and selenocyanato ligands [Ru2{O2C(CH2)mCH3}4(L)] n (m = 0, 4–7; L = OCN, SCN, and SeCN) were prepared and characterized based on the elemental analyses, IR, and diffuse reflectance spectra. Magnetic susceptibilities were measured at the temperature range of 4.5 K to 300 K, where the interdimer antiferromagnetic interactions were revealed. The strongest interaction was exhibited in case of m = 7 and L = OCN. 1H-NMR spectra of [Ru{O2C(CH2)7CH3}4(SCN)] n in CD2Cl2 showed broad signals which can be ascribed to polymeric species, as the addition of tetrabutylammonium thiocyanate caused sharper signals due to the formation of [Ru2{O2C(CH2)7CH3}4(SCN)2] adduct as the main species in the solution. An experiment combining the conventional radio-chemical stacked target technique and rapid measurements using a gas-jet transport system were carried out with a purpose of precise determination of charge dispersion and distribution for the proton-induced fission of238U at two incident energies of 9.4 and 12.4 MeV. We determined the charge dispersion width as 1.01±0.05 charge unit at 17.9-MeV excitation and 0.70±0.04 charge unit except for the symmetric mass region at 14.8-MeV excitation. Fundamental differences were found also in the mass distribution characteristics between 17.9-MeV and 14.8-MeV excitations. This abrupt change of the fission characteristics strongly supports the existence of different fission mechanisms below and above around 14-MeV excitation.  相似文献

New semi-rigid polyesters composed of the distyrylbenzene analogue of 1,3,4-thiadiazole, 2,5-bis(2-phenylethenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole and aliphatic (dodeca-, deca- and octamethylene) chains were prepared by high temperature solution polycondensation; their liquid crystalline (LC) and photoluminescent properties were investigated. Differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing microscopy and powder X-ray diffraction show that the polyesters having both dodeca- and decamethylene chains form a thermotropic smectic C phase and a lyotropic LC phase in trifluoroacetic acid, but the polyester containing octamethylene chains only exhibits a thermotropic smectic C phase. Solution and solid state absorption and fluorescent spectra indicate that all the polyesters in this work display absorption maxima based on the 2,5-bis(2-phenylethenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole moiety, emitting blue light in HFIP solutions and bluish-green light in solids; the Stokes shifts are 80.1-80.7 nm in solution and 74.2-87.2 nm in the solid state.  相似文献

Binuclear Schiff-base complexes were prepared by bridging an unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff-base complex of copper(II) with m- or p-phthaloyl. The complexes were characterized by means of elemental analyses, molecular weights, UV, IR and 1H NMR (for metal-free ligands) spectra. ESR and magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the copper(II)copper(II) interaction is negligibly small.  相似文献

A series of hole and electron transporting random and block copolymers consisting of triphenylamine moiety as a hole transporting unit and oxadiazole moiety as an electron transporting unit have been prepared via a nitroxide mediated radical polymerization. Oxadiazole monomers with t‐butyl or trifluoromethyl groups, 2 and 7, respectively, were used for copolymerization. Photoluminescent measurements of polymers revealed that the formation of the exciplex between triphenylamine and oxadiazole units tends to occur in the order of random copolymers, block copolymers, and polymer blends, implying phase‐separated morphologies in block or blend systems. The polymers were applied for OLED devices, and we found that the morphology in the polymer layer critically affected device performance. The block copolymer comprising hole and electron transporting units with the composition of 14/86 showed the highest external quantum efficiency over 10%. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
