Guiding of multiple signal beams in an induced all-optical cable is studied theoretically. A balance relation is derived for the interaction geometry and undistorted propagation of bright elliptical signal beams nested in a single ring dark soliton. The numerical analyses show a remarkable misalignment stability of the parallel guiding scheme.  相似文献

Recently J. P. Vigier showed [1] that the photon can be reperesented as a solitary electromagnetic wave – a soliton. As a consequence one can ascribe to such a soliton effective volume, amplitude and frequency which coincide with the frequency of de Broglie's wave (measured by interference phenomena). In this paper we propose a soliton-like model for the photon. We show that the electromagnetic amplitude, the volume, the classical cross section and the photoeffect cross section of the photon-soliton can be estimated in an empirical as well as in an analytical way. In the framework of our model the relation between the electromagnetic amplitude of the soliton and its frequency that we found seams to be an universal one, in sense that it may not depend on the specific quantum system considered. We show that there are no essential contradictions between our photon-soliton and some well-known facts such as the interactions in the case of photoeffect and Compton effect.  相似文献

We show theoretically and experimentally that switching an applied square-wave field produces strong and short pulses of the outgoing signal during two-wave mixing in sillenite crystals. These pulses originate from the strong effect of the field on the optical eigenmodes and can be used in new optical schemes based on time-separated recording and readout processes.  相似文献

Using the distinctive features of the photorefractive nonlinearity, we derive a general self-consistent set of equations to describe two-wave coupling in the presence of fast and arbitrary strong-phase modulation. By considering a number of important particular cases, we show that phase modulation is a powerful and useful tool for shaping the characteristics of two-wave coupling such as the value of the energy exchange, the diffraction efficiency of the recorded grating, and the structure of the grating fringes. Finally, we analyze the role of the phase modulation in the active stabilization of wave coupling by means of an electronically introduced phase feedback.  相似文献

A scalable multi-configuration self-consistent field (MCSCF) algorithm is described. The method for optimizing the orbital and configurational parameters is based upon the two-step Newton–Raphson approach with an augmented orbital Hessian matrix. A single copy of the two-electron integrals in the molecular orbital basis is distributed over the memory of all processors. Storage of the augmented Hessian is avoided by re-computing its elements as needed. A replicated data approach is used to parallelize the configuration interaction step. Scalability to 1024 processors is demonstrated.  相似文献

In this paper we show that the possible existence of the photon as a soliton [1] can be studied with the help of well-known experimental results and we propose some new experiments which can help to examine some properties of the soliton. First, we compare the soliton energy density to the energy density of Planck and we show that the two densities are consistent. Second, we make an attempt to explain some old experiments with our soliton model of the photon and we show that the results of such experiments do not contradict the existence of such solitons. We also discuss the possibilities for new, improved experiments, which can help to distinguish the soliton interaction from the interaction of a classical electromagnetic wave with charged particles.  相似文献

 We present experimental results on the evolution of ring dark solitary waves generated by computer-synthesized holograms. The data obtained and the detailed comparative numerical simulations show that this approach ensures reproduction of the correct intensity and phase portrait of the dark wave at the entrance of the nonlinear medium. Charge-transfer complexes (CTC) of some phenothiazine derivatives with -electron acceptors were obtained. They were used to determine the ionization potentials of the investigated donor compounds. The complexing constants of phenothiazine and some of its N-substituted derivatives were found.
