An improved process for the preparation of N-alkylbis(3-aminopropyl)amines is described. These triamines are of interest as monomers for the condensation polymerization with esterified carbohydrate diacids (aldaric acids) to generate the corresponding poly(4-alkyl-4-azaheptamethylene aldaramides). The triamine synthesis is comprised of two efficient steps and requires no chromatographic purification. Bisconjugate addition of alkylamines to acrylonitrile followed by catalytic hydrogenation of the N-alkylbis(cyanoethyl)amines over Raney nickel yields the target N-alkylbis(3-aminopropyl)amines. Much less solvent was used in the bisconjugate addition step then previously reported, and in the second step, a relatively low-pressure catalytic hydrogenation (50 psi of hydrogen) was employed using Raney nickel as the catalyst in a 7 N methanolic ammonia solvent system to afford the N-alkylbis(3-aminopropyl)amines of high purity in nearly quantitative yield.  相似文献

Slopes of forward-masked psychometric functions (FM PFs) were compared with distortion-product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) input/output (I/O) parameters at 1 and 6 kHz to test the hypothesis that these measures provide similar estimates of cochlear compression. Implicit in this hypothesis is the assumption that both DPOAE I/O and FM PF slopes are functionally related to basilar-membrane (BM) response growth. FM PF-slope decreased with signal level, but this effect was reduced or reversed with increasing hearing loss; there was a trend of decreasing psychometric function (PF) slope with increasing frequency, consistent with greater compression at higher frequencies. DPOAE I/O functions at 6 kHz exhibited an increase in the breakpoint of a two-segment slope as a function of hearing loss with a concomitant decrease in the level of the distortion product (L(d)). Results of the comparison between FM PF and DPOAE I/O parameters revealed only a weak correlation, suggesting that one or both of these measures may provide unreliable information about BM compression.  相似文献

There is an abundance of literature on complex networks describing a variety of relationships among units in social, biological, and technological systems. Such networks, consisting of interconnected nodes, are often self-organized, naturally emerging without any overarching designs on topological structure yet enabling efficient interactions among nodes. Here we show that the number of nodes and the density of connections in such self-organized networks exhibit a power law relationship. We examined the size and connection density of 47 self-organizing networks of various biological, social, and technological origins, and found that the size-density relationship follows a fractal relationship spanning over 6 orders of magnitude. This finding indicates that there is an optimal connection density in self-organized networks following fractal scaling regardless of their sizes.  相似文献

In this study, the experimental extraction conditions on applying headspace solid‐phase microextraction and cold fiber headspace solid‐phase microextraction (CF‐HS‐SPME) procedures to samples of six medicinal herbs commonly found in southern Brazil were optimized. The optimized conditions for headspace solid‐phase microextraction were found to be an extraction temperature of 60°C and extraction time of 40 min. For CF‐HS‐SPME, the corresponding values were 60°C and 15 min. In the case of the coating temperature for the CF‐HS‐SPME system, two approaches were investigated: (i) Temperature of 5°C applied during the whole extraction procedure; and (ii) the use of two fiber temperatures in the same extraction procedure with the aim of extracting the volatile and semivolatile compounds, the ideal condition being 60°C for the first 7.5 min and 5°C for the final 7.5 min. The three extraction procedures were compared. The CF‐HS‐SPME procedure had good performance only for the more volatile compounds whereas the strategy using two coating temperatures in the same procedure showed good performance for all compounds studied. It was also possible to determine the profile for the volatile fraction of each herb studied applying this technique followed by GC‐MS.  相似文献

An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method was employed for determination of the pyrethroid biomarker, 3-phenoxybenzoic acid (3-PBA) in human urine samples. The optimized coating antigen concentration was 0.5 ng/mL with a dilution of 1:4000 for the 3-PBA antibody and 1:6000 for the enzyme conjugate. Urine samples were hydrolyzed with concentrated hydrochloric acid; extracted with dichloromethane and solvent-exchanged into a methanol/buffer solution, prior to analysis in a 96-microwell plate immunoassay. Quantitative recoveries of 3-PBA were obtained for fortified urine samples by ELISA (92 ± 18%) as well as by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) (90 ± 13%). The overall method precision of these samples was within ±20% for both the ELISA and GC/MS methods. Analytical results from over one hundred urine samples showed that the ELISA and GC/MS data were highly correlated, with a correlation coefficient of 0.95. At the 10 ng/mL comparative concentration level, the false positive rate was 0% and the false negative rate was 0.8% for ELISA when using GC/MS as the reference method. The ELISA method has a suitable low detection limit for 3-PBA to assess pyrethroid exposures in non-occupational settings.  相似文献

We report the direct measurement of the 7Be solar neutrino signal rate performed with the Borexino detector at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso. The interaction rate of the 0.862 MeV 7Be neutrinos is 49+/-3stat+/-4syst counts/(day.100 ton). The hypothesis of no oscillation for 7Be solar neutrinos is inconsistent with our measurement at the 4sigma C.L. Our result is the first direct measurement of the survival probability for solar nu(e) in the transition region between matter-enhanced and vacuum-driven oscillations. The measurement improves the experimental determination of the flux of 7Be, pp, and CNO solar nu(e), and the limit on the effective neutrino magnetic moment using solar neutrinos.  相似文献

We report the experimental discovery of "electrorheological (ER) complex plasmas," where the control of the interparticle interaction by an externally applied electric field is due to distortion of the Debye spheres that surround microparticles (dust) in a plasma. We show that interactions in ER plasmas under weak ac fields are mathematically equivalent to those in conventional ER fluids. Microgravity experiments, as well as molecular dynamics simulations, show a phase transition from an isotropic to an anisotropic (string) plasma state as the electric field is increased.  相似文献

The present study examined specific science-related attitudes, informal science-related experiences, future interest in science, and gender of young high-ability students. The sample consisted of 111 high-ability students between the ages of 9 and 13. Students completed the Test of Science Related Attitudes (TOSRA), the Science Experience Survey, and the Course Selection Sheet. Two regression models were developed to predict number of physical science and life science courses selected. In the first model, gender, TOSRA subscale Career Interest in Science, and informal physical science related experience predicted 42% of the variance related to number of physical science courses selected. The second model (R2= .24) predicted number of life science courses based on informal life science related experience, informal physical science related experience, and TOSRA subscale Enjoyment of Science Lessons. Recommendations were made recognizing differences regarding gender and ability level.  相似文献
