We study theoretically, by means of layer-multiple scattering techniques, the propagation of elastic waves through finite slabs of phononic crystals consisting of metallic spheres in polyester matrix, embedded in air. We focus on the study of modes localized on the surfaces of the structure, investigating the physical parameters which influence and determine their appearance. Our results reveal the existence of absolute phononic frequency gaps in these finite structures, and point out the possibility, under an appropriate choice of the parameters, of tunable regions of frequency free of propagating and/or surface-localized modes. This could be very useful in the design of devices related to frequency filtering, waveguiding, etc.  相似文献

The structural and solvent effects on the electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra, and fluorescence quantum yields, of four new fused benzothiophene derivatives, including benzothieno[3,2b]-thiophene (BTT), benzothieno[3,2-b]benzothiophene (BTBT), 6-methoxy[1]benzothieno[3,2b]-thiophene (MeOBTT), and benzothieno[3,2-b]indole (BTI) were investigated at 295 K. The luminescence properties of the corresponding conductive oligomers, poly(BTT) and poly (MeOBTT), electrosynthesized in acetonitrile, were also studied. Satisfactory McRae, Suppan, and Kawski-Chamma-Viallet solvatochromic correlations were established for the four monomers in most solvents. A weak negative solvatochromic behavior was found for these compounds, indicating that their dipole moments are slightly lower in the excited singlet state than in the ground state. Kamlet-Abboud-Taft multiparametric correlations were also obtained for absorption and fluorescence wave numbers and quantum yields, demonstrating the existence of specific solute-solvent interactions. In the case of the oligomers, important red-shifts of the fluorescence emission maxima ( 90–110 nm) relative to the corresponding monomers were observed, which shows the extent of conjugated segments in the oligomer chains.  相似文献

Treatment of hindered borinic esters, R2 BOR′; with an equimolar quantity of α,α-dichloromethyl methyl ether and lithium triethylcarboxide yields the α-chloroboronic esters, R2 CHClB(OCH3)OR′, in excellent yields. In cases where the steric requirements of R are not sufficient, the steric requirements of R′ can be increased to achieve the synthesis.  相似文献

We introduce a thermal conductance by using the fluctuation-dissipation theorem to analyze the heat transfer between two nanoparticles separated by a submicron distance. Using either a molecular dynamics technique or a model based on the Coulomb interaction between fluctuating dipoles, we derive the thermal conductance. Both models agree for distances larger than a few diameters. For separation distances smaller than the particle diameter, we find a transition regime characterized by a thermal conductance larger than the contact conductance.  相似文献

Optical parametric oscillation using the new lithium selenoindate nonlinear crystal is reported for what is to our knowledge the first time. A 17 mm long, type II phase-matched sample is pumped by a 10 ns Nd:YAG laser. The minimum pump energy threshold is 3 mJ for a signal-resonant configuration. The signal and idler waves are tunable between 1.47 and 1.57 microm, and 3.3 and 3.78 microm, with a total output energy of 170 microJ corresponding to a 2.4% energy conversion at 8 mJ pump, only limited by the AR coatings damage. With optimized crystal quality and coatings, lithium selenoindate should show superior performance as compared with AgGaS(e)2 crystals, owing to its 4x larger thermal conductivity.  相似文献

Potassium ferricyanide oxidation of salt 1 gave isoquinolinone 7 whose treatment with Grignard reagents resulted in a high-yield formation of substituted isoquinolinium salts 5. The selectivity of the reduction of these salts to give derivatives 6 has been studied. Particularly good selectivities (82-84%) were observed when R is a benzylic group. On the basis of these results, a practical and enantioselective synthesis of the natural alkaloid (-)-argemonine is presented.  相似文献

We consider a simple model case of stiff source terms in hyperbolic conservation laws, namely, the case of scalar conservation laws with a zeroth order source with low regularity. It is well known that a direct treatment of the source term by finite volume schemes gives unsatisfactory results for both the reduced CFL condition and refined meshes required because of the lack of accuracy on equilibrium states. The source term should be taken into account in the upwinding and discretized at the nodes of the grid. In order to solve numerically the problem, we introduce a so-called equilibrium schemes with the properties that (i) the maximum principle holds true; (ii) discrete entropy inequalities are satisfied; (iii) steady state solutions of the problem are maintained. One of the difficulties in studying the convergence is that there are no estimates for this problem. We therefore introduce a kinetic interpretation of upwinding taking into account the source terms. Based on the kinetic formulation we give a new convergence proof that only uses property (ii) in order to ensure desired compactness framework for a family of approximate solutions and that relies on minimal assumptions. The computational efficiency of our equilibrium schemes is demonstrated by numerical tests that show that, in comparison with an usual upwind scheme, the corresponding equilibrium version is far more accurate. Furthermore, numerical computations show that equilibrium schemes enable us to treat efficiently the sources with singularities and oscillating coefficients.

Experimental measurements of acoustic transmission through a solid-solid two-dimensional binary-composite medium constituted of a triangular array of parallel circular steel cylinders in an epoxy matrix are reported. Attention is restricted to propagation of elastic waves perpendicular to the cylinders. Measured transmitted spectra demonstrate the existence of absolute stop bands, i.e., band gaps independent of the direction of propagation in the plane perpendicular to the cylinders. Theoretical calculations of the band structure and transmission spectra using the plane wave expansion and the finite difference time domain methods support unambiguously the absolute nature of the observed band gaps.  相似文献
