In a production system, rework process plays an important role in eliminating waste and effectively controlling the cost of manufacturing. Determining the optimal batch size in a system that allows for rework is, therefore, a worthwhile objective to minimize the inventory cost of work-in-processes and the finished goods. In this paper, models for the optimum batch quantity in a multi-stage system with rework process have been developed for two different operational policies. Policy 1 deals with the rework within the same cycle with no shortage and policy 2 deals with the rework done after N cycles, incurring shortages in each cycle. The major components that play a role in minimizing this cost of the system are manufacturing setups, work-in-processes, storage of finished goods, rework processing, waiting-time, and penalty costs to discourage the generation of defectives. The mathematical structure of this rework processing model falls under a nonlinear convex programming problems for which a closed-form solution has been proposed and results are demonstrated through numerical examples, followed by sensitivity analyses of different important parameters. It is concluded that the total cost in policy 2 tends to be smaller than that in policy 1 at lower proportion of defectives if the in-process carrying cost is low. Poly(o‐methoxyaniline) (POMA) and poly(o‐toluidine) (POT) salts doped with different acids (methanesulphonic acid (MeSA), trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), and hydrochloric acid (HCl)) were synthesized by using solid‐state polymerization method. The polymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectrometry, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and conductivity measurements. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was done to study the morphologies of POMA and POT salts. The FTIR and UV‐Vis absorption spectra revealed that the reduced phase was predominant in POMA salts, and the pernigraniline phase was predominant in POT salts. It was found that POMA salts displayed higher doping level and conductivity. In contrast, POT salts were lower at doping levels and conductivity. In accordance with these results, the electrochemical activity was also found to be lower in POT salts. The XRD patterns showed that the POMA salts displayed higher crystallinity than POT salts. Well‐oriented ZnO nanorods (NRs) arrays were grown on Si, alumina, quartz, and FTO substrates through a ZnO seed layer followed by low temperature wet chemical process. The influence of sputtered ZnO seed layer thickness (100, 50, 32, and 16 nm), annealing temperature and CuOx coverage on the characteristics of ZnO NRs were investigated in this study. The crystalline structural, chemical, morphological, optical, and electrical properties of ZnO NRs arrays were studied by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), field emission‐ scanning electron microscopy equipped by energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (FE‐SEM/EDX), Raman scattering, UV/Vis ‐ near IR absorption spectroscopy and current‐voltage characteristic. XRD and Raman spectra measurement revealed that the synthesize ZnO displayed hexagonal wurtzite structure. The individual rod diameter, density, and orientation can be controlled by varying the seed layer thickness. The mean diameter and maximum length of ZnO NRs are around 55–66 nm and 282 nm, respectively. ZnO NRs/ ZnO thin film structure shows optical switching and negative differential resistance behavior as applicable to ON/OFF gate and memory devices. 相似文献

The effect of gamma radiation on the dyeing of cotton with extract of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) powder has been investigated. Cotton fabric and turmeric powder were irradiated to absorbed doses of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 kGy using Co-60 gamma irradiator. Dyeing parameters such as temperature, pH and mordant concentration were optimized. Dyeing was performed using un-irradiated and irradiated cotton with the extracts of un-irradiated and irradiated turmeric powder in order to investigate the effect of radiation treatment on the colour strength of dyed fabric. The reported data of un-irradiated and irradiated fabrics dyed with un-irradiated and irradiated dyes were obtained using the spectraflash SF-650. The colourfastness to light, rubbing- and washing-fastness properties showed that gamma irradiation has improved the dyeing characteristics from fair to good. 相似文献

Glycosphingolipids (GSLs) are major components of the outer leaflet of the cell membrane. These lipids are involved in many cell surface events and show disease‐related expression changes. GSLs could thus serve as useful targets for biomarker discovery. The GSL structure is characterized by two entities: a hydrophilic glycan and a hydrophobic ceramide moiety. Both components exhibit numerous structural variations, the combination of which results in a large diversity of GSL structures that can potentially exist. Mass spectrometry (MS) is a powerful tool for high‐throughput analysis of GSL expression analysis and structural elucidation. Yet, the assignment of GSL structures using MS data is tedious and demands highly specialized expertise. SysBioWare, a software platform developed for MS data evaluation in glycomics, was here applied for the MS analysis of human serum GSLs. The program was tuned to provide automated compositional assignment, supporting a variety of glycan and ceramide structures. Upon in silico fragmentation, the masses of predicted ions arising from cleavages in the glycan as well as the ceramide moiety were calculated, thus enabling structural characterization of both entities. Validation of proposed structures was achieved by matching in silico calculated fragment ions with those of experimental MS/MS data. These results indicate that SysBioWare can facilitate data interpretation and, furthermore, help the user to deal with large sets of data by supporting management of MS and non‐MS data. SysBioWare has the potential to be a powerful tool for high‐throughput glycosphingolipidomics in clinical applications. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
