Realistic two-valued potential energy surfaces for the reaction C(3P) + CH(X2Π) → C2 + H have been constructed from a set of high level ab initio data describing the first two 2A′ electronic states of the C2H system. These states have linear equilibrium configurations, known as the X 2Σ+ and A2Π states, and are coupled by a conical intersection. They lead to the formation of C2(X1Σ+ g) and C2(a3Πu) considering an adiabatic dissociation process. The ab initio calculations are of the multireference configuration interaction variety and were carried out using a polarized triple-zeta basis set. Using the ab initio adiabatic energies and the matrix elements of the dipole moment, a 2 × 2 diabatic representation of the electronic Hamiltonian was built. Each element of this Hamiltonian matrix was expressed within the double many-body expansion (DMBE) scheme which is based, in this case, on the extended Hartree-Fock approximate correlation energy model (EHFACE). The analytical adiabatic potential energy surfaces are then obtained as the eigenvalues of this matrix, and display correctly the Σ/Π conical intersection. Moreover, the non-adiabatic couplings given by our analytical model are compared with the ab initio ones, and good qualitative agreement is observed.  相似文献

Observational evidence seems to indicate that the expansion of the universe is currently accelerating. Such an acceleration strongly suggests that the content of the universe is dominated by a non-clustered form of matter, the so-called dark energy. The cosmological constant, introduced by Einstein to reconcile General Relativity with a closed and static Universe, is the most likely candidate for dark energy although other options such as a weakly interacting field, also known as quintessence, have been proposed. The fact that the dark energy density is some one hundred and twenty orders of magnitude lower than the energy scales present in the early universe constitutes the cosmological constant problem. We review various aspects of the cosmological constant problem and some interesting scenarios using supersymmetry or extra-dimensions attempting to solve one of the most puzzling issues in physics.  相似文献

Asphalt roads gradually deteriorate over time and need mendingto remain in a good state. Inspections are performed to obtaininformation about the current state of the road; when the levelof damage reaches the established standards, the road is repairedthrough a maintenance action that is considered most cost-effective.Because of economies of scale, it is to a certain extent economicalto limit the number of maintenance services by integrating neighbouringsegments into a homogeneous section which is completely repaired.In this report we consider the question of whether it is economicallyjustified to adopt a maintenance concept in which the road isoccasionally regenerated from junction to junction with a distanceof several kilometers. The big advantage of junction-to-junctionmaintenance is that it can be done within special road barrierconstructions which reduce the road capacity only slightly,so that the road can be maintained 24 hours a day.  相似文献

Despite their widespread exclusion from the literature on reliability and replacement, many items of equipment are subject to failures to idle as well as failures to operate. For such equipment a new optimisation problem arises at the stage of systems design in terms of the optimal use of redundancy to maximise expected systems life. The models hitherto used as the basis for the solution of this optimization problem ignore the dependence that should exist for the solutions upon the operating and idling requirements to which the system is to be exposed. In this paper a simple model for equipment subject to such opposite failure modes is constructed which takes explicit account of the proportion of time the equipment is in use. The implications of this new model for the selection of an optimum redundancy configuration are illustrated for the case where four identical items of equipment are available.  相似文献

A comparison is made of the low-mass three-meson systems (πππ), (Kππ), KK) and (KKK) diffractively produced in the reaction meson + proton → three mesons + proton. Several striking similarities and a few important differences are observed: (i) the reactions are consistent with the assumption that the three mesons decay entirely into a 0? meson and a 0+, 1? or 2+ resonance; (ii) the three-meson mass spectra have a peak ≈ 250 MeV above the effective threshold Meff of the dominant decay mode and then fall off approximately as (mass)?3;(iii) the average spin 〈J〉 = 0.55 + 1.1 Qeff, where Qeff = M - Meff; (iv) the average orbital angular momentum 〈l〉 increases according to 〈l〉 = 0.75 Qeff; (v) the three-meson states are produced dominantly in unnatural spin-parity states and no evidence for their being resonant is found; (vi) the only natural spin-parity states found are the well-established 2+ resonances A2 and K1 (1420); they have similar properties to the non-resonant unnatural parity states except for a dip at t = 0 in the dσ/dt distributions; (vii) both the unnatural and natural spin-parity states are produced mostly by an exchange of natural parity; (viii) there is evidence for two types of production mechanism with different polarization properties, one approximately conserving helicity in the t-channel and the other in the s-channel.  相似文献

Effects of micro-ramps on a shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Stereoscopic particle image velocimetry is used to investigate the effects of micro-ramp sub-boundary layer vortex generators, on an incident shock wave/boundary layer interaction at Mach 1.84. Single- and double-row arrangements of micro-ramps are considered. The micro-ramps have a height of 20% of the unperturbed boundary layer thickness and the measurement planes are located 0.1 and 0.6 boundary layer thicknesses from the wall. The micro-ramps generate packets of individual vortex pairs downstream of their vertices, which produce counter-rotating longitudinal streamwise vortex pairs in a time-averaged view. These structures induce a pronounced spanwise variation of the flow properties, namely the mixing across the boundary layer interface. The probability of reversed-flow occurrence is decreased by 20 and 30% for the single- and double-row configurations, respectively. Both configurations of micro-ramps stabilize the shock motion by reducing the length of its motion by about 20% in the lower measurement plane. The results are summarized by a conceptual model describing the boundary layer’s and interaction’s flow pattern under the effect of the micro-ramps.  相似文献

Evolution of the vortices of monopole and dipole types in a viscous fluid is considered numerically. Theory and numerical results are compared for some particular exact solutions. A good agreement is obtained for the dipole vortices (viscous Chaplygin-Lamb vortices) moving with variable velocities due to viscosity. For the monopole type vortices, the agreement is more or less good only at an initial stage of their evolution; while in the long-lime asymptotics the law of vorticity decay other than the theoretical one is discovered. The reason for such a discrepancy is discussed. The interactions of dipole vortices with each other and with rigid boundaries are studied too. The stability of dipole vortices with complex internal structures is considered briefly.  相似文献
