We present results of a bright polarization-entangled photon source operating at 1552 nm via type-II collinear degenerate spontaneous parametric down-conversion in a periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate crystal. We report a conservative inferred pair generation rate of 123,000 pairs/s/mW into collection modes. Minimization of spectral and spatial entanglement was achieved by group velocity matching the pump, signal, and idler modes and through properly focusing the pump beam. By utilizing a pair of calcite beam displacers, we are able to overlap photons from adjacent down-conversion processes to obtain polarization-entanglement visibility of 94.7+/-1.1% with accidentals subtracted.  相似文献

Within the context of the linearized theory of elasticity, weconsider homogeneous crystals, which have orthorhombic, tetragonal,hexagonal symmetry or cubic symmetry (‘RTHC’ crystals).When such a crystal is subjected to a simple tension (or compression)of amount T in the direction n, there will be three, generallydifferent, extensional strains along the three mutually perpendiculardirections corresponding to the principal axes of strain. Thepurpose of this paper is to present a simple procedure to placebounds, upper and lower, on the possible extensional strainsin the crystal, both in the case when n is fixed in directionand in the case when n is arbitrary. The Shanno-Toint Procedure for Updating Sparse Symmetric Matrices   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Two recent methods (Shanno, 1978; Toint, 1980) for revisingestimates of sparse second derivative matrices in quasi-Newtonoptimization algorithms reduce to variable metric formulae whenthere are no sparsity conditions. It is proved that these methodsare equivalent. Further, some examples are given to show thatthe procedure may make the second derivative approximationsworse when the objective function is quadratic. Therefore theconvergence properties of the procedure are sometimes less goodthan the convergence properties of other published methods forrevising sparse second derivative approximations.  相似文献

Positive correlations are observed for pion pairs of equal charge and similar momentum vectors, produced in the reactions πp→p+5π and πp→p + 7π at 4 to 25 GeV/c. The results are consistent with being due to the second-order interference effects expected for pairs of identical bosons and lead to the determination of the average dimension of the “fire-ball’ from which the pions are emitted (〈R〉 = 1.0 ± ?0.2+0.4 fm). Attempts are made to study the fire-ball shape by selecting pions pair emitted in various polar and azimuthal directions.  相似文献

In this paper, we briefly summarize the main conclusions of the Mössbauer analysis of [L2Fe2(-OH)3] (ClO4)2·2CH3OH·2H2O with L=N,N',N"-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane, a novel dimeric iron compound, which possesses a central exchange-coupled delocalized-valence Fe(II/III) unit. The complete delocalization of the excess electron in the dimeric iron center is concluded from the indistinguishability of the two iron sites in Mössbauer spectroscopy. The magnetic Mössbauer spectra imply a system spinS t=9/2 for the dimer in its ground state. The values for hyperfine and spin-Hamiltonian parameters, obtained from simulations of the Mössbauer spectra, are =0.74 mms–1, E Q=–2.14 mms–1,A =–10.6 T,A =–13.5 T andD=1.8 cm–1. The system spinS t=9/2 is interpreted to be a consequence of double-exchange coupling.  相似文献

We formulate two-color nonlinear wave-packet interferometry (WPI) for application to a diatomic molecule in the gas phase and show that this form of heterodyne-detected multidimensional electronic spectroscopy will permit the reconstruction of photoinduced rovibrational wave packets from experimental data. Using two phase-locked pulse pairs, each resonant with a different electronic transition, nonlinear WPI detects the quadrilinear interference contributions to the population of an excited electronic state. Combining measurements taken with different phase-locking angles isolates various quadrilinear interference terms. One such term gives the complex overlap between a propagated one-pulse target wave packet and a variable three-pulse reference wave packet. The two-dimensional interferogram in the time domain specifies the complex-valued overlap of the given target state with a collection of variable reference states. An inversion procedure based on singular-value decomposition enables reconstruction of the target wave packet from the interferogram without prior detailed characterization of the nuclear Hamiltonian under which the target propagates. With numerically calculated nonlinear WPI signals subject to Gaussian noise, we demonstrate the reconstruction of a rovibrational wave packet launched from the A state and propagated in the E state of Li2.  相似文献

An approximate analytical procedure is presented to estimate theresponse spectrum of an oscillator with elastic impacts under a Gaussian whitenoise excitation. The proposed approach is based on a perturbation analysis ofthe problem and on the use of the stochastic averaging principle. The basicidea is to replace the initial system by a more regular system obtained byapproximating the nonlinear restoring force by a Chebychev polynomial, and thento construct for this regular system two approximations: one for the flowand one for the stationary distribution of the response amplitude. Ananalytical approximation of the response spectrum can then be derived fromthese results. Predictions from this analytical approximation are compared with corresponding digital simulation estimates and with the ones obtained from theconventional equivalent linearization method.  相似文献
