Liquid crystal induced circular dichroism (LCICD) measurements were made to investigate the pretransitional phenomena in the SA phase just above the SA-S*C and SA-S*CA phase transitions of both the first and the second order. The pretransitional LCICD in SA was observed in the second order phase transition to S*c and S*cA, suggesting the existence of a dynamic helical structure in SA. Such behaviour disappears when the transition is of the first order. It seems that the handedness of the dynamic helix in SA is the same as that in S*c even when the lower temperature phase is S*cA. This is explained as a result of a dominant contribution of ferroelectric soft mode.  相似文献

Abstract— Light-dependent phosphorylation of rhodopsin (Rho) is a first step in the desensitization of the signaling state of the receptor during vertebrate and invertebrate visual transduction. We found that only 358Ser of the photoac-tivated octopus Rho (oRho*) was phosphorylated by octopus rhodopsin kinase (oRK). Tryptic truncation of the C-terminal PPQGY repeats of oRho that follow the phosphorylation region did not influence spectral or G-protein activation properties of oRho but abolished phos phorylation. Despite significant structural differences between oRK and mammalian RK, these results provide i further evidence of the importance of singly phosphorylated species of Rho* in the generation of arrestin binding sites.  相似文献

The absorption maxima of the fluorescence spectra of the berberine series alkaloids are broadly distributed between 360 and 560 mμ. The fluorescence spectra of most substances of this series are very monotonous one having a single peak, the spectra of tetrahydrocoptisine and tetrahydroepiberberine are quite exceptional and consist of two wavy bands. The introduction of the auxochrome group into the molecule of “proto” compounds causes the decreasing of the fluorescence intensity and this effect is strongest in case of transition from protoberberine to berberine. That, tetrahydropalmatine does not show the distinct fluorescence spectrum band is the only incomprehensible fact.  相似文献

A semi-empirical theory for transition metal complexes is presented. Unusual aspects of the theory are (1) employment of Xα theory, (2) adoption of theoretical exchange parameter, (3) exclusion of (n + 1)s and (n + 1)p atomic orbitals of a nd-transition metal, and (4) variation of atomic orbitals in LCAO method. Effects of the irradiation of ultrasound (US) on the photo-catalytic mineralization of some chlorinated organic compounds such as dichloroethane, tri- and tetrachloroethylenes, chloroacetic acids and chloromethanes were examined in oxygen saturated aqueous solutions suspended titanium dioxide (P25) particles. The yields of the sonochemical mineralization for these compounds were found to be extremely low compared to the photo-catalysis. However, the pre-sonication, US irradiation on the sample solution before the photo-irradiation, enhanced significantly the following photo-catalytic degradation to the complete oxidation. The effect was investigated in detail and it was found that the effect was mainly owing to the increase in the capability of the catalysis of which particles were sparsely dispersed by the sonication. The other contribution of the pre-sonication effect was found to be "pre-sonolysis", the initial formation of some intermediated products sonochemically, which are oxidizable more rapidly further to carbon dioxide than the original compound by the following photo-catalytic reactions. The pre-sonolysis effect was observed remarkably for trichloroacetic acid and tetrachloromethane, both of which are known to be hardly reactive to the photo-catalytic degradation. The photo-catalytic degradation with simultaneous sonication were also carried out for these compounds. The synergetic effect in the mineralization was observed both for carbontetrachloride and for trichloroacetic acid, the higher carbon dioxide yield being obtained in the simultaneous reaction than the sum of the yields in the photo-catalysis and the sonolysis each alone, while no significant synergetic effect was observed in the mineralization of other compounds.  相似文献

Di(4-pyridyl)diazomethanes having two and four ortho chlorine groups were prepared, and the triplet carbenes generated from them were characterized by ESR and UV/vis at low temperature and time-resolved UV/vis at room temperature. Adsorption of NO on Pt(110)-(1 x 2) and (1 x 1) surfaces has been investigated by density functional theory (DFT) method (periodic DMol(3)) with full geometry optimization and without symmetry restriction. Adsorption energies, structures, and N-O stretching vibrational frequencies of NO are studied by considering multiple possible adsorption sites and comparing with the experimental data. Adsorption is strongly dependent on both coverage and surface phase. The assignment of adsorption sites has been carried out with precise calculation of vibrational frequencies for NO on various sites. We clearly show the NO site switching on both of the surfaces as found in the experiments: at low coverages, bridge species is formed on the surface, and at high coverages, NO switches to atop sites.  相似文献

Second harmonic generation circular dichroism (SHG CD) measurements are performed on the B4 phase of a bent-core molecular system. Numerical analysis of SHG CD incorporating magnetic-dipole as well as electric-dipole interaction shows that the B4 phase is in a twist-grain-boundary structure with the helical axis along the bent direction of the molecules. The result is extremely important in the sense that achiral molecules are spontaneously optically resolved, i.e., deracemization, the chiral domains of which give rise to huge chiral nonlinear optical effect.  相似文献

A simple Raman probe was realized using a single flexible hollow waveguide (HW). A HW coated with a silver film, which had reasonable transmission and little optical background noise, was used as a bidirectional transmission fiber for both the excitation and collection of Raman scattered light. The HW itself generated no Raman scattering or fluorescence noise during transmission. A complex filtering system at the end of the waveguide was thus unnecessary. In addition, the measured Raman spectra showed better signal-to-noise ratios than a conventional Raman fiber probe. The HW's suitability as a Raman fiber probe was also demonstrated.  相似文献
