The Euroanalysis VII conference in Vienna included a two-day session: Quality Assurance in Analytical Chemistry. The contributions comprised 15 lectures devoted to: intra-laboratory quality measures, inter-laboratory control, formal aspects and accreditation and implementation. The paper presents an overview of the main items developed by the contributors.A survey on the session on Quality Assurance in Analytical Chemistry of Euroanalysis VIIThe authors thank the organizers of EUROANALYSIS VII and in particular Dr. B. Griepink and Dr. E. Maier of the Community Bureau of Reference (BCR) of the CEC for their support and considerable contributions. 相似文献

Proficiency data with stated uncertainties represent a unique opportunity for testing that the reported uncertainties are consistent with the Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM). In most proficiency tests, however, this opportunity is forfeited, because proficiency data are processed without regard to their uncertainties. In this paper we present alternative approaches for determining a reference value as the weighted mean of all mutually consistent results and their stated uncertainties. Using an accepted reference value each reported uncertainty estimate can be expressed as an E
n
number, but a value of confirms its validity only if the uncertainty of the reference value is negligible in comparison.Reference values calculated for results from an International Measurement Evaluation Programme (IMEP-9) by “bottom up” as well as “top down” methods were practically identical, although the first strategy yielded the lowest uncertainty. A plot of individual coefficients of variation (CV) versus E
n
numbers helps interpretation of the proficiency data, which could be used to validate relative uncertainties down to <1%. 相似文献

Stability tests are carried out on candidate reference materials in order to ascertain that the certification values continue
to be valid a reasonable time after completion of the certification analysis. These tests are also used for recommending storage
conditions, as well as the duration of storage before certification values need be rechecked. BCR (Community Bureau of Reference)
reference materials do not normally have an expiry date, but rely on stability monitoring throughout the lifetime of the certified
material. The 1997 version of the BCR Guidelines for the production and certification of reference materials does, however,
take into account the necessity of limiting the validity of a certification, when degradation of the material during storage
cannot be ignored. This paper discusses an example of significant degradation taking place between the time of completion
of the certification analysis and the issue of a formal certificate. Various options are presented together with an account
of their influence on the certified values and their uncertainties.

Chemical methods are unsuitable for the determination of the specific activity of commerical125I preparations because of the unknown chemical state of the iodine in solutions more than a few weeks old.125I and127I were determined in samples from seven different manufacturers by instrumental neutron activation analysis; the specific
activities found ranged from about 45% to more than 90% of that of the truly carrierfree product. Correlation of the specific
activities with the126I:125I ratios indicates contamination of one of the products with stable iodine during the manufacturing process.

It has been found that sampling constants vary greatly not only from major elements to trace elements, but also between individual trace elements. A comprehensive investigation of a potential reference material therefore requires the determination of sampling constants for all elements to be certified, and other analytical methods therefore have to be included. For methods in statistical control the described strategy can be applied. 相似文献

The sensitivity on n-type gamma-X detectors for low-energy X- and -rays calls for coincidence corrections in the efficiency calibration that do not apply to the calibration of p-type detectors. Corrections were calculated for the effect of cascade coincidences between -rays, X-rays, annihilation radiation, and bremsstrahlung, for 15 radionuclides frequently used for efficiency calibration. Experimental results are presented for a -X detector with 37% relative efficiency at distances from 0.9 to 17.5 cm. After coincidence correction smooth efficiency curves were found for the energy range 12 to 2750 keV, even for the position closest to the detector. 相似文献

Analytical quality control is needed to ascertain the reliability of results from all types of analysis, including activation analysis. Thea priori precision has to be combined with the statistics of counting in order to reach a state of statistical control. The Analysis of Precision is used to verify the absence of unknown sources of variability and to ascertain the absence of systematic biases or calibration errors by analyzing samples or reference materials with accurately known content or actual samples by an independent method. 相似文献
