Patients with hyperthyroidism sometimes take much time to receive the final diagnosis. To improve patient QOL, simple screening for hyperthyroidism by thyroid non-specialists at the physical check-up is highly expected. Therefore, we applied both Bayesian-type and SOM-type neural networks since we assured the approach useful in analysing thyroid function diagnosis in the previous work. Routine test (14 parameters) data from 66 subjects with a known diagnosis (18 patients with hyperthyroidism and 48 healthy volunteers) were adopted as learning data, and then 142 individuals who also received the same routine tests at the Tohoku University Hospital were screened to predict patients with hyperthyroidism. Both neural networks using 14 parameters predicted several patients as having hyperthyroidism with high probability, including all three hyperthyroid patients diagnosed later by the physician. Further detailed analysis of the routine test parameters that were important for classification found that screening with a set of three parameters (alkaline phosphatase, serum creatinine and total cholesterol) or plus aspartate aminotransferase allowed for quite accurate screening. These results showed that the same neural networks as previous work allows simple screening of patients for hyperthyroidism on the basis of routine test data, and that physicians not specializing in the thyroid can rapidly identify individuals suspected of having hyperthyroidism, to permit a rapid referral for examination and treatment by thyroid specialists.  相似文献

We report the first measurements of the doubly charmed baryonic B decays B --> Lambda c+ Lambda c- K. The B+ --> Lambda c+ Lambda c- K+ decay is observed with a branching fraction of (6.5(-0.9)(+1.0)+/-1.1+/-3.4)x10(-4) and a statistical significance of 15.4sigma. The B0 --> Lambda c+ Lambda c- K0 decay is observed with a branching fraction of (7.9(-2.3)(+2.9)+/-1.2+/-4.1)x10(-4) and a statistical significance of 6.6sigma. The branching fraction errors are statistical, systematic, and the error resulting from the uncertainty of the Lambda c+ --> pK- pi+ decay branching fraction. The analysis is based on 357 fb(-1) of data accumulated at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider.  相似文献

We report the first observation of a near-threshold enhancement in the D(0)D[over](0)pi(0) system from B-->D(0)D[over](0)pi(0)Kappa decays using a 414 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. The enhancement peaks at a mass M=3875.2+/-0.7(+0.3)/(-1.6) +/-0.8 MeV/c2 and the branching fraction for events in the peak is B(B-->D(0)D[over](0)pi(0)Kappa)=(1.22+/-0.31(+0.23)/(-0.30))x10(-4). The data were collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+ e- collider.  相似文献

We report the first observation of two charmed strange baryons that decay into Lambda(c)(+)Kappa(-)pi(+). The broader of the two states is measured to have a mass of 2978.5+/-2.1+/-2.0 MeV/c2 and a width of 43.5+/-7.5+/-7.0 MeV/c2. The mass and width of the narrow state are measured to be 3076.7+/-0.9+/-0.5 MeV/c;{2} and 6.2+/-1.2+/-0.8 MeV/c2, respectively. We also perform a search for the isospin partner states that decay into Lambda(c)(+)Kappa(0)/(s)pi(-) and observe a significant signal at the mass of 3082.8+/-1.8+/-1.5 MeV/c2. The data used for this analysis were accumulated at or near the Upsilon(4S) resonance, using the Belle detector at the e+ e- asymmetric-energy collider KEKB. The integrated luminosity of the data sample used is 461.5 fb(-1).  相似文献

We report results on a Dalitz analysis of three-body charmless B+/- --> K+/-pi+/-pi+/- decay including searches for direct CP violation. We report the first observation of the decay B+/- --> f2(1270)K+/- with a statistical significance above 6sigma. We also observe first evidence for large direct CP violation in the B+/- --> rho(770)0K+/- channel. The results are obtained with a data sample that contains 386 10(6) BB pairs collected at the Y(4s) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.  相似文献

We report the first measurement of the forward-backward asymmetry and the ratios of Wilson coefficients and in A9/A7 and A10/A7 in B --> K*l+l-, where l represents an electron or a muon. We find evidence for the forward-backward asymmetry with a significance of 3.4sigma. The results are obtained from a data sample containing 386 x 10(6) BB pairs that were collected on the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.  相似文献

Structural effects on the rates of formic acid oxidation have been studied on Pd(111), Pd(100), Pd(110), and Pd(S)-[n(100) x (111)] (n = 2-9) electrodes in 0.1 M HClO4 containing 0.1 M formic acid with use of voltammetry. On the low index planes of Pd, the maximum current density of formic acid oxidation (jP) increases in the positive scan as follows: Pd(110) < Pd(111) < Pd(100). This order differs from that on the low index planes of Pt: Pt(111) < Pt(100) < Pt(110). Pd(S)-[n(100) x (111)] electrodes with terrace atomic rows n > or = 3 have almost the same jP as Pd(100), except Pd(911) n = 5. The value of jP on Pd(911) n = 5 is 20% higher than those of the other surfaces. Pd(311) n = 2, of which the first layer is composed of only step atoms, has the lowest jP in the Pd(S)-[n(100) x (111)] series. The adsorption geometry of the reaction intermediate (formate ion) is optimized by using density functional theory.  相似文献

The voltammetric detection of soybean agglutinin (SBA) was investigated on the basis of an interaction between the lectin and a sugar. Because galactose and lactose combined with SBA, the sugars were labeled by a Schiff base with an electroactive daunomycin. After the labeled sugar and SBA were mixed, measurements were carried out by voltammetry. When SBA-sugar binding occurs, a part of daunomycin of the labeled sugar is taken to the binding sites. As a result, SBA is detected by a change in the peak current of daunomycin, and the SBA-sugar interaction is evaluated. The length of the alkyl chain between daunomycin and the sugar was also considered. The electrode response to the concentration of SBA was linear over the range of 0.04-0.8 microg min(-1). The merits of this procedure are the convenient preparation of labeled sugar and a rapid measurement without separation. On the other hand, the detection of sugar at the 10(-9) mol dm(-3) level was achieved by a competitive reaction to limited binding sites of the lectin between the sugar and the labeled sugar.  相似文献

N-m-Tolyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine is proposed for the spectrophotometric determination of small amounts of vanadium. The reddish-violet complex formed with the reagent in 3-6M hydrochloric acid after extraction with chloroform shows an absorption maximum at 530 nm, and obeys Beer's law for 0-76.5 mug of vanadium in 10 ml of chloroform. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the determination of vanadium in coal and coal fly-ash.  相似文献

Two kinds of novel macroporous silica-based chelating polymeric adsorption materials, TODGA/SiO2-P and CMPO/SiO2-P, were synthesized by impregnating and immobilizing two chelating agents, N,N,N',N'-tetraoctyl-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamide (TODGA) and octyl(phenyl)-N,N-diisobutylcarbamoylmethylphoshine oxide (CMPO), into the pores of SiO2-P particles. To separate minor actinides (MA(III)) such as Am(III) and Cm(III), the adsorption and elution of 13 typically simulated fission products from a 3 M HNO3 were performed. It was found that in the first column packed with TODGA/SiO2-P, all of the simulated elements were separated effectively into four groups: (1) Cs(I), Mo(VI), and the most portion of Ru(III) (non-adsorption group), (2) Sr(II), small portion of Gd(III) and all of light REs(III) (MA-lRE-Sr group), (3) most of Gd(III) and all heavy RE(III) (hRE group), and (4) Zr(IV), Pd(II), and a little of Ru(III) (Zr-Pd group) by eluting with 3.0 M HNO3, 1.0M HNO3, distilled water, and 0.5 M H2C2O4, respectively, at 298 K. MA(III) was predicted to flow into the second group along with Nd(III) because of their close adsorption-elution onto TODGA/SiO2-P. In the second column packed with CMPO/SiO2-P, MA-lRE-Sr group was separated into (1) Sr(II), (2) middle RE(III) such as Gd(III), Eu(III), Sm(III), and quite small portion of Nd(III) (MA-mRE), and (3) light RE(III) such as La(III), Ce(III), and most of Nd(III) by eluting with 3.0 M HNO3 and 0.05 M DTPA-pH 2.0, respectively, at 323 K. MA(III) was believed to flow into MA-mRE group along with Gd(III) due to their similar adsorption properties towards CMPO/SiO2-P. Based on positions of MA(III) appeared in light and heavy RE(III), an improved MAREC process for MA(III) partitioning from HLW was proposed.  相似文献
